@Elvin
Sorry, just checking out these duel map threads and I have downloaded two duel maps:
Duel_Map_2.0 - seems older
TOH Duel 1.2 - seems like a better one.
Which one is more balanced and better to use?
Are there newer duel maps?

I suggest you try Arena, for best balance, it is in a topic nearby ... And between the two, ToH Duel 1.2 map was certainly very good !

I've created a lot of versions over time, it's a matter of taste. TOH duels for instance has medium army strength, artifacts are purchased by artifact merchant and there are hero specials - that most other versions lack. This map map lacks the balance tweaks that the latest version used however. If memory serves TOH has 2 merchants, less artifact bans and less gold available so it's trickier.
You can find more versions here.
Btw arena means more balance and less fun Never did enjoy the unnecessary amount of micromanagement myself since it requires more management than combat skills whereas my duels are simpler and focus more on combat. Arena forces you to split between army, artifacts and levels. Also less randomness, you won't see a dark or summoning runemage there.
Some key differences just so you get the idea.
I have some specific shrines and arcane library whereas arena has a location that gives random 1-3 spells, except you pay for each try.
Arena has more diversity between armount of army, artifacts and levels. Mine is more or less the same.
Preparation time is longer for arena since there are more things to consider.
Arena has more available artifacts including the tomes.
Where duels have a sphinx that give the same level to everyone arena does so in steps. First you level up to 15 and you must buy each subsequent spell. That undeniably gives more control over your hero development since you can guess better the stat allocation and whether to wait or skip on certain skills.
That's all I can recall atm, the difference mostly lies in concept. Arena tests you in more ways than a duel.

Quote: Following a successful series of regular tournaments in the temple of Ashan and the resurgence of interest in toh official tourneys I decided to bring something new to the table. Enter the duel map!
Unlike arena you are not forced to split your resources between levels, army and artifacts so the balance is closer to a regular toh game - except the creeping of course Everyone can buy full army and have enough money to buy artifacts and erase a few skills in the mentor. Of course it is still possible to leave some army aside to buy more artifacts.
