Tael walked behind Domerth and Rebeca, still fulfilling his role as a mercenary. He was looking forward to some true violence, and would hold against anyone trying to stop the brother and sister from revenge. His blades were drawn, and flames tingled his forearms. He were ready for anything this place would throw at him.

Osseric stepped casually from the boat. His warrior- and archer-minions had joined the regular troops, Gyvan his newly aquired knight stayed at his side. Osseric would play a role behind the battlelines, not in the thick of it. Gyvan would protect him, if the need arised.
Osseric summoned his staf in his right hand and the orb he looted in the Blackstone Fortress in the left. During the time Osseric had for himself he discovered that the Orb was a catalyst between this and the Underworld. The orb weakend the divine barrier that existed between the worlds and it made it easier for him and any necromancer or deathpriest to harness the magics of the Underworld. In his capable hand, already trickles of black smoke pearled down the translucent artifact.
Osseric cast his mind into the presence of the orb and contacted the Underworld. At the same time Osseric's eyes and the obsidian orb on his staf began eminating a eerie black glow, with the eyes glowing brightest of the two.
Osseric drew all the power he would be allowed to take without breaching his contract with the God and promised that all souls he encountered would be sacrificed to the God in exchange for more magic. Without Osseric seeing it, the skull inside the orb grew two more mandibles and horns, turning the skull into the visage of the Deathgod.
Now firmly anchored in the Underworld, Osseric's mind now roamed the city. Already he had shackled the souls of the first two fallen soldiers and sacrificed them to his Lord. His mind expanded more and filled the streets.
The fallen soldiers lurched to life, their beastmasks hanging limply on their faces. With wounds still bleeding, they drew their axes and trudged to the battlelines where they would attack their former comrades.
Everywhere Osseric's mind roamed the fallen lurched back to life. While in the harbor a column of inky smoke rose straight into the sky.

- What the hell?!- Asked Maegwyn, after a man he just killed rose up and clashed with his brethren- What is going on here?
- It's the dwarf's doing!- Replied Falrick- Didn't you knew that he was a necromancer? His servants weren't bursting with life you know- He cutted down another fanatic, smashing his ornate lynx mask into pieces.- Just be happy that they aren't against us junior.
The door of the palace were torn apart by a powerfull gust of wind. The group encountered the savage defenders. They were in golden armor painted with blood, their wolf masks gilded and encrusted with dazzling gemstones. Each bore a greatsword sized morning stars and maces. The fight was fierce, and Domerth didn't had time to see what the others were doing. After Lycus devoured another soul, he saw two of the enemies burning from inside, while others were either struck by lightning or being cleaved by Jelm's greatsword. The group moved forward. The palace was decorated by sick ornaments- naked, mutilated corpses of men, women and children. The grotesque athmosphere was further enhanced by the torchlight and the horrid stench of decaying bodies.
- Singrid... By Odin, they will pay for it!- said Jelm, upon seeing a body of a stout blond woman. Her chest was cut opened, the eyes gouged out. Tears ran across the man's weathered face, sinking in his graying beard. These tears however were not as much of sorrow, but as much of fury.
- For each of ours, we will take ten of theirs- Said Domerth. The gems encrusted in the swords hilt started glowing.
- The hilt's gems are glowing. Why?- Asked Rebeca.
- It senses the remnant of the sword. The pieces want to be reunited. In here- He pointed at the door nearby and kicked opened it. Inside the chamber there were several corpses of men, probably the warlocks and a pedestal with a hiltless blade. Domerth drew out the hilt and summoned the wraithblade. As Domerth touched the last piece, the blade started reforming. Silver light engulfed the chamber, and moments later the now restored sword was held by Domerth. He smiled.
- Let's move to our target. His time has come!

Salim, Leonadros, and Poat stuck with Domerth, Rebeca, and Tael, protecting their left flank..well at least Poat and Leonadros were.
Salim often charged ahead, hopping on his enemies' heads towards the nearest enemy warlock to chop him down. The way Salim fought was graceful, as if he was merely dancing. His enemies saw a flaw within his fighting and sought to exploit it, only to find dead ends and be trapped by it. Such was the battle style of Salim's people.
Leonadros fought as he was trained, though was often caught behind his companions as he usually fought alongside other Falconguard soldiers in shield wall formations. So every now and then he had to lug his shield up to the front to kill a couple enemies, only to find himself left behind again. Eventually he just put up his shield on his back and grabbed a buckler for a shield instead.
Poat could not turn his enemies to ash, or make them catch on fire, but instead heated their armor and weapons so that they would be severely hurt and weakened, leaving them easy prey for his friends. On occasion he would heat the end of Leonadros' pike so that it would inflict more damage than usual, but he dared not heat it up too much, or else the wood may catch on fire.
Eventually they arrived at the door to last room.
Salim said to Domerth, "I'll take the stairs up so then I can shoot down your uncle's warlocks with my bow after taking care of his soldiers up there. When you all engage in close quarter combat I'll jump down and help you. Poat. Leonadros, come with me. I'll need assistance."

As Salim spoke to Domerth, Tael crushed the door and brought down a part at the wall at the same time. He let the fire sweep across the floor inside the next room to give a clear entrance for the others. He rose one hand above his head and the flames rose as a wall in front of anyone still alive.
"Now it's time for your revenge." he said to Domerth and Rebeca, smiling his old cold smile.
((Epic battle music playing))

- The stairs lead to the bedchambers. There's no use of you going there.- Domerth clashed with the last defenders. The throne room was like an amfitheather, with a statue of a grotesque god in the middle. The 'god' had four arms, it's body had features of both man and woman, and it's head was of a gross crossbreed of man and goat.
Domerth gracefully evaded the last blow and made his way towards uncle. He was awaiting near the throne, wielding a grotesque greatsword. Rebeca finished of her adversary and also moved towards uncle. Domerth spun the sword, trying to adjust to the weight of the weapon.
- See my dearest nephews, you weren't the only one to visit Magitara. Why don't you say hello to your uncle?- he smiled.
- I am here to slay another false monarch. Today is your day!- Domerth charged, clashing the blades. They dueled intensively, but Domerth's mind was calm, and the blows were much more lethal.
- Your attack is in vain my children. My forces will be coming shortly. You and your feeble men are doomed! The Great Kharnesh will devour your souls!
- Our forces are bolstered with every foe we slay.- Said Rebeca- Your whole defenders are at the will of our necromancers. Your raiders are fishfood now. We have a whole fleet of the dead surrounding the isles. Your reign of terror is over!- She unleashed a lightning upon him, disarming him and forcing him to kneel. Domerth's ice had frozen him to the ground.
- It cannot be! You're lying!
It wasn't all lies what Rebeca had said. The raiders are lying at the bottom of the sea. The moment that their ship reached the harbor, two of the water 'wyrms' arose and attacked the ship with intense blasts of water. The waters of the harbor were deep, and the warriors who were throwed overboard had drowned due to the weight of their armor. The ship was left scuttled, and sunked moments later. After the threat was eliminated, the wyrm heads returned to the depths and only two scrolls were floating on the surface.

Two cloaked warriors jumped from the shadows, ready to strike down Rebeca and Domerth. Salim acted quickly and threw a couple daggers at the two, killing one and wounding the other. A warlock stepped forth and attempted to cast a spell upon Salim. Salim reflected the spell back at the warlock, killing him. He made sure that the rest of the throne room was clear and then said, "We're clear, Domerth. All that remains is your uncle now."

Seeing as Jelm takes the heart and mask of the general that took his wife, Domerth said:
- This basterd will be set to public execution. - The uncle looked up, ang got kicked in the face by Rebeca.- and his victims will be given a proper burial. It's the least we can do for them. Then we'll sail back to Magitara.
After a few moments the captive overlord was taken out to the town square of Andugg. The soldiers were also carrying identical looking chests from the palace's vault. Others prepared countless funeral pyres for the dead, for everyone except for the followers of Kharnesh. The overlord was decapitated by Domerth, and his corpse being thrown into the depths of the sea. With the ceremonies' ending and the loading of supplies finished they set sail back to Magitara. Before Rebeca opened another portal, she summoned a gigantic tidal wave, which devoured the isles of Merinanth, erasing them from the face of the Earth forever.

As they are sailing back, Salim stands by Rebeca upon the forecastle of the ship asking her, "So who exactly is Kharnesh? I have not heard of this being before. Is he some sort of god or demon?"

- You should ask Domerth about it. I have no knowlegde of the creature, except for it's looks and the hideous rituals that it's followers commit. You've seen them both.

- My knowledge about him is scarce. Some sources say that he or she is a demon that somehow ascended to godhood. Other sources say that it's one of the primordial gods. Whichever the case, it's followers are fanatics. You seen them in combat. Kharnesh embodies two different aspects- slaughter and pleasure. It is known that it's followers often summon minor demons and use special drugs that enhances the pleasure received from killing and torture. This subject is rarely touched due to the interferance of Albearic Inquisition which often consists of blackmail, prison or public execution, so to further study this you either need to hide or be a suicidal madman.

Osseric was in the cargohold, inspecting his own cargo. Due to the items Domerth and his sister took from their homeland, the space was crammed full. Still Osseric had managed to capture a few spoils from the battle. Halfway through the battle, when it was obvious Domerth's forces would win, his minions broke off from the battle and started to harvest organs Osseric intended to use in a few experiments. The organs now lay in a vat of salt, dried and prepared for the journey home to his mansion in the Grey Dunes.
A greater spoil however was the two prime specimen his minions came upon. A magus, suffocated and left to rot, just before the battle commenced. The body still intact, the soul still clinging to the corpse. Osseric had resurrected him, his spirit he had kept away from the sacrifices to the Deathgod. The spirit he kept away from the body for now, as it was still being magically altered to fit it's new undead state. Convenient as well, as Osseric had his minions cramm the corpse into a box and it was placed among the other cargo. Osseric would need the facilities in his labratory to fully turn the magus into one of the unliving.
The stench in the hold, fortunatly, was from the stagnant bilgewater and not his bodyparts. Secure in his belief that his extra cargo would not suffer during the journey, Osseric returned to the deck.

- That is the theory most support. Unfortunately that is all the knowledge I have about this subject. Most of it is either guarded by hermit mages or sealed within the Inquisition's librariums.
Rebeca stood on deck, watching the playfull dance of the dolphins. She felt Osseric's presence on the deck.
- Ah, here you are. Come with me, we'll talk about your reward for your excelent spellweaving.

"Hmmm...well..."said Salim as he drew out a piece of parchment and handed it to Domerth. "There was a mural in the Blackstone fortress that seemed to refer to curse of the Hellborn and me. I redrew what it shown me."
Upon the paper was a drawing of a Hellborn man deprived of power. Then in the next frame he was drinking out of a golden chalice, though what was in it was never shown. Then in the last frame he was shown emitting rays of raw energy and having complete control over others.
"When I left you", continued Salim, "I researched different magical essences and potions with restorative powers that would return dormant magic ability to an individual such as me. However, the small monasteries and private book collections of Lordring do not contain the information I require. I need to go to the source of all this knowledge: Deities. Yet that means I must find a way to contact a God or Ascended Demon."

- Gold, precious stones, jewelery, ivory carvings. Things of value. Two of them are yours, so choose which ones.
- I wouldn't advise to consort with demons, even if they ascended to godhood. Their words can be misleading, and instead of salvation can lead to your demise. Or worse.- Domerth tried to knock some sense into Salim.- but do what you must. If you choose the demonic path, let's hope that I won't have to put an end to your rampage.
