The two creatures flew closer to the ship. The dragons were well built, roughly twice the size of a horse. The beasts sported three pairs of beautifull, crooked, impala like horns. They landed on the deck, scaring several sailors, for it was the first time their eyes feasted on such majestic beings. The first thing that they did was to examine the tabards and heraldry of the crew.
- Well?- asked the first one- What do you think?- his voice was a bit gruff, but had almost melodic sound.
- They're not the enemy- Replied the second one. Her voice was melodic, almost elf like.- their symbol is the wolf, not the falcon. Except for this one- She nodded towards Leonardos' shield.- however the bird is in red, not in blue.
Domerth just now noticed the standards lying on the blood soaked ground. They were quartered. In the blue square was depicted a black, gilded falcon. In the red one was a white double cross, the symbol of Albear. Two white squares showed the symbols of two Living Saints, a burgundy rose of Saint Cathalina and the black bear of Saint Frederick.
- They aren't with the enemy Argetthus! Didn't you see this man?- she nodded to Domerth- The humans titled him as the Kingslayer. Even the living saints fear him! Don't you sense THAT magic in his sword?! Even Azurothos didn't challenged him, despite being older than our broodlord!
- You are right, Aria.
- Your head is overheated from battle- She replied.- Tell us, what business do you have here?
- we seek to settle in your islands, because our own were ravaged by the vile hordes of Kharnesh. This would benefit both your and our kin- Said Domerth.
- How exactly?
- We can aid you in this war. The living saints have no right to wage this 'crusade' on the dragonkin.
- Intriguing offer. However, we aren't the ones you should talk about. Seek our broodlord for an audience.
- Will do.- Said Domerth, watching the dragons take flight.

As the dragons flew away, Leonadros turned to Domerth and Rebeca and said, "My lord and lady, once you have created a settlement on this land, with your permission, I would have to return to Highwind City and report to my regional lord. As Prince Alberto has diverted a large portion of his troops to their crusades here, may I suggest that you create an allegiance with Prince Alaric? Prince Alberto would surely recognize your people here as a threat and would send more soldiers here to take these lands for his own. Prince Alaric can provide military aid here to prevent the Blue Falconguards and the Albear Saints from taking this region, thus solidly establishing your nation here. In return, you shall have to sign a defensive treaty with Alaric stating that you shall each aid each other in a time of war. As stated in the agreement, you shall then have to send troops to aid in the fight against Prince Alberto as Prince Alaric has aided you. Of course, trade agreements can also be made additionally."

- Very well. After we ally ourselves with the dragons, I'll send an emissary to Araraq. King Merik can also be a powerfull ally. Still, the audience with the silver broodlord is our top priority right now.

Meanwhile at the Tharkun straits between Alberto's and Alaric's realms a battle was brewing...
The Ordinator led three hundred Blue Falconguard warships against two hundred Red Falconguard battleships. Though they fought valiantly, the Red Falconguard navy was decimated not only by the sheer power of the Blue Falconguard's numbers, but also by the tactical genius of Admiral Trepelin, the newest commander of the Ordinator, and the leader of Prince Alberto's entire navy.

Several hours have passed untill Rebeca was able to conjure spells again. The jewel in her staff flashed, sending a blueish circle of light.
- The spellbomb in Rockport was activated.
- Spellbomb?- Asked Domerth
- A term I created. I learned how to seal powerfull spells in parchements. They're unleashed when I tap the jewel in my staff, or when someone damages the seal. Now, my water wyrm ravages the dockside of Rockport. It's energy will burn out in a few hours.
- Nice thinking. Now focus on getting us moving again.
- Of course.- She raised her staff. The gemstone started glowing and the water of the lake rose up, freeing the ship from the shackles of the shallow, sandy shore. The ship sailed towards the island chain. The journey was swift, as Rebeca had summoned winds to hasten the journey. After a few moments, the ship was 'docked' in the beach of the largest island. Domerth, Rebeca, and some others had set foot onto the shore.

On the distant far side of the lake ten ships appeared. Leonadros looked through a spyglass and looked at the banners. He then went to the other side of the Unyielding and yelled out to Domerth, "Sir! Ten massive crusader ships on the far side of the lake! They are filled to the brim with soldiers and war machines! They seek to attack the dragon's flank, sire! Hurry and warn the dragon broodlord before they get here. I estimate they'll be within bombard range within 30 minutes, landing in 40!"
Salim then said to Domerth, "We likely will not be able to make it to the dragon broodlord in time if we walk and we cannot spare time to transport the horses from the ship to the shore. Let me run there. I can smell his power from here and I you know I am the fastest runner here."

Evelgor stood surveying the docks, impatiently waiting for the ship to arrive. Suddenly, he heard a slight cough behind him. He turned angrily, only to see a skeleton who left some weeks previously. standing there. Evelgor sighed and said, "I assume you're coming?" The jinn nodded. Evelgor turned back around, and saw the ship. It was made out of bones of great long-forgotten beasts. It was also made of stone, kept afloat by magical means. Evelgor chuckled. "Excellent."

Glendon hurriedly went down through the valley, before coming upon a village. It was in ruins, with flames burning everywhere. A sick smell hung over the place, the sick smell of death and burning corpses. He suddenly heard a moan off to one side. Glendon rushed to the noise. A man, evidently a warlock, was laying on the ground, clutching his chest from pain. He groaned when he saw Glendon, coughed wetly, and croaked, "Demon... Went... west... Stop him..." The paladin sighed gravely, looking at the dead warlock. Then, he started of west.

- We must win some more time!- Shouted Domerth. - Anything will do! Salim, find the entrance to the broodlord's lair. When you do so get back here at once.- He looked at the waters of the lake.- I think I'll win us at least another half an hour.

Salim sprinted away as fast as his legs could carry him. He soon sensed great power on the island and went in that direction.
Ten minutes later 12 dragons came to the Unyielding's aid, with Salim on the back of one of them.

- Excellent work!- Said Domerth. While Salim was gone, Domerth used his sword to freeze a large area of water around the lake. At the end of the ice, there were large spikes coming out of the ice. A thin layer of snow covered the surface.
- Aren't we inviting them straight to us?- asked one of the twins.
- That is preciselly what we are doing. The ships won't break the ice, trust me. Once they're on foot it will be easier to take them down. And one more thing. Keep their ships undamaged, as much as possible. Their wood would do great in the upcoming construction.
- A handfull of us against ten warships full of armed to the teeth crusaders?
- Don't tell me that you're scared! Besides, we have a very serious backup.- Domerth nodded to the dragons.- Now, don't just stand there! Get our horses here!

"Heh. Their metal boots will make them slip on the ice. And once they get down, they're hard to get back up. Ahahaha!" said Salim as he got off of the dragon he was riding and approached Domerth. "Their heavy armor will be the death of them."
Leonadros looked uncomfortable in his heavy armor and then rushed to his cabin the change into something lighter.
"Domerth, the broodlord will meet with us in his lair. These dragons he sent to help us are to carry the most important of us to him for talks and...stuff." said Salim, "But first let's worry about the battle. How far away will the crusader ships be from us and the Unyielding?"

- They approached the ice now!- Said the lookout.- and they're unloading their ballistae! The troops are landing as well. Looks like an important general is leading them, take a look.- Domerth took the spyglass from Salim and looked at the enemy. A pure white horse in armor. It's rider was a fat, balding man in ornate armor. It's shield was bearing a black bear. His weapon was a warhammer.
- Looks like one of the Living Saints is in charge. This will be a tough fight, despite our advantages.- Domerth looked at the four horses, three blacker than the blackest night, while one was whiter than the snow on the frozen lake. All four had two heads. Domerth's Karayan had white 'stars' on his foreheads. It shook his heads and pounded the ground with it's hooves.

Salim looked into the spyglass as well and then said, "Ha! That old guy? He looks like he could probably hurt us by sitting on us, but he doesn't look like too much of a threat. I'm sure either of us could take him easy."

- Do not underestimate him. Saint Frederick is more than meets the eye. Though he is less of a paladin then Saint Christian was, despite being the latter's right hand.
- all their troops are on the ice!- Said the lookout. Before he mounted, Domerth stabbed his sword in the ice. The gemstones glowed and on the other side, the ice beneath several crusader battalions crumbled, and the lake's depths took their lives.
- Fewer to take care of.- Domerth said and mounted his steed.
- TO BATTLE!- He shouted as the dragons took flight. The small remnant of merinanthians also charged forward wielding deadly swords, axes and maces. They favoured two handed weapons or less often, dual wielding various weapons. Their boots were equipped with "hedgehogs", small spiked metal plates strapped to the boots with leather straps. It was usually used by fishermen in winter to provide better grip with the miror ice which usually engulfed the the bay of Andugg.
The battle begun fiercely, when the few soldiers of Domerth clashed with the heavily armed crusaders. Domerth dueled with Saint Frederick. His helmet's face parodied the wearer's face. With one powerfull slash the paladin's shield was broken into pieces.
- Do you like my sword?- Domerth asked- With it's soul I murdered your lord, Saint Christian.
- HERETIC!- the fatman shouted.- You will burn!- Domerth barely parried his last blow. The dragons above their heads roared and burned the crusaders with their pure white flames. Some even flew around the ships and devoured the sailors. Dark cloudstorms gathered around the battlefield, as Rebeca rushed forward to the battle.

As the others rushed into battle, Salim and Poat sneaked away to the shore.
"Poat, you got the cocktails?" said Salim as they got onto shore
"Sure do. I also have the blades." replied Poat as he grinned.
"Excellent. Let's make sure these crusaders don't have a way home..."
As the fighting raged on, Leonadros found himself beset by 3 heavily armed crusaders. There didn't seem to be anyone around to help them. It looked like the end. Then all of the sudden a crusader ship went up in flames and exploded. One of by one, the other ships succumbed to the same fate and all sank down into the lake's depths. With the crusaders distracted, Leonadros quickly stabbed one with his spear, kicked the other in the groin, tripped the other one, and retreated to safety. Meanwhile Leonadros and Poat swam to the surface of the lake onto the ice. Several crusaders saw them and tried to attack them, but Salim quickly dispatched them with his daggers. He then took out a couple of long dull blades and attached them to the bottom of his boots. Poat got onto Salim's back and pulled out a bow. Salim then skated across the ice quickly while Poat shot as many crusaders as he could with his bow. Whenever a crusader would get close, Salim merely used his longsword to trip them onto the ice. After they had caused plenty of chaos within the crusader ranks, they returned to where the bulk of the Merinanthian troops were.

The ship was fairly flying with magical speed. In no time at all, they reached the island of the fanatics. Evelgor cautiosly descended ashore, followed by the blood drake and ten skeletons.

- You have come here to die saint!- Domerth shouted after Frederick's hammer sunk in the water. After intense duel with the paladin Domerth was trying to catch his breath. It was a long time ago since he felt the weight of steel in his hand. The wraithblade was a weightless weapon, a manifestation of the warrior's power. However to sustain it in the material world, it required to absorb the essence of the living. By feeding it with souls Domerth was ensured that his own soul was safe from the blade's hunger. Now that the spectral and material halfs were reunited, the spirit of the sword no longer required souls to consume.
The fatman's horse had been tired out and has fainted, dropping his rider. Domerth charged forward and decapitated him. He then dismounted and grabbed a nearby spear, then mounted Frederick's head on it. With this symbol of victory, he rushed over the lake, creating a path of ice beneath his steed's feet, to the shore. There he placed the spear on the ground as a warning. After that was taken care off, he returned to battle, to help crush the remaining crusaders.

The Zephalinoth looked at the dead fanatics, at first with an indifference, then suddenly with curiosity. 'Their flesh' thought
Evelgor, 'Their smell... The necromancer was here' Then he stood up and cried, "Onward!" They boarded the ship, and set off.

The creature struggled, his hands chained to two large pillars, as he had been for one hundred years. below him lay a seemingly bottomless pit. It was an ironic torture, as in the hole stood his palace, Ishtkahr, or Flameguard. He looked around at his own skin. It was covered in tough, crimson scales, which were seperated by cracks, as if an earthquake had struck the monster's body. From these breaks pour a constant stream of fire and ash, as it had since the begining of time. This was the hour of freedom, his time was spent. The chains were already weakening, but the beast could wait no longer. It brought it's tail up and struck the first chain, slicing it like butter. With his free arm, he smashed the band constricting his hand. It shattered. The creature was now in freefall, but returning home was not the demon's plan. The flames that had always flown enveloped the demon, creating a living fireball. He flew to the ground level before the pit. His clawed hand strenched outwards, and a sword of pure fire appeared. As he marched, two Guardians rushed at him in a futile attempt to contain the demon's unleashed power. He skewered the first on his horns and cleaved the next in two. He began walking towards a monumental statue of a demon's head, roaring in anger. Kul Mageras walked up the the head, gazing at it's glory for a few seconds, before standing next to the mouth. He had reached his destination, the Rift.
"The Abyssal Rift. The weak point between the mortal realm and Hell itself."
The demonlord laughed diabolicly, as he began using his claws to rip what at first appeared to be the stone of the statue, but soon showed to be the fabric of reality. Chaotic energies rushed out through the newly reformed portal, and the armies of the Abyss after, the first being the lord of flames. Mageras surveyed his surrondings. The demon fires had scorched everything until the land looked as if he was still in the pits of Hell. The only hint that it was indeed the mortal world was the sky. Clouds of ash blocked the the sun, but it was obvious that it wasn't the cave-like skyline of his fiery homeland.
"These mortal pigs thought they knew suffering my last "visit". Well, they haven't seen me angry."
He then started his march to Demonag.
