"Seeing as you and the others, saving Poat of course, seem to have powerful magical abilities, I was wondering if these ruins had any kind of anti-magic device or weapon that they would have stockpiled. It would help me through a great many nasty spots I'm sure."

- There's bound to be a whole armory there, though I'm not aware of what it holds. We'll see as we loot it.- Domerth than walked over to the necromancer's carriage, and knocked on the door.
- We're ready to leave now.- before the necromancer could reply Domerth added- I never talk to piles of walking bones.- He returned to the campsite- Allright, let's get going.

"Ah, finally." said Salim as he packed up his tent and other things laying around that belonged to him. He also took some supplies, arrows, and daggers from the dead hunters as well.
"Poat, c'mon. It's time to leave!" yelled out Salim to Poat since Poat was just lying around.
"I've all my stuff packed up! I'm waiting for you all!" replied Poat stubbornly.
Salim exasperated and then said, "If you are done, then get on your pony."
Poat grudgingly did as Salim asked.

"They still have skin." Osseric replied softly, not sure if the man called Domerth could hear it.
Osseric could slowly feel the power of the Deathgod rejuvinate his body. The sensation was not entirely comfortable, as it felt like his body was stretched in ways it was not supposed to. Nontheless it was preferrable to becoming a Lich. Most Necromancers eventually turned into Vampires as they eventually started drawing power from their own life. Osseric had vowed never to come to that. He could not do much business if he looked like one of his unwrapped lackeys.
Weakly Osseric ate some sweatbread he had brought along. Sustainance was not necesary for his undying body, but it helped the process and Osseric still enjoyed food.
Outside the shrowded coachmen gave a light clack of the reins and the two teams of horses would started pulling the carriage and cart. Their eyes flared a sickly green, if only for a the barest second. The undead creatures looked slightly skinny but they could oulast any living horse. Still Osseric would eventually have to cover them up when they started to deteriorate.
The two vehicles would have no effort keeping up with the group.

Domerth got onto his horse. The rest of the company were preparing as well. The gang also found a horse that belonged to the hunters. The wagon problem was solved. Domerth looked at the lizardman and the goblin.
- You two, manage the cart.

((War-overlord, you need to edit your post. Necromancers can't be come lichs. But they can become vampires that way))
Amurris smiled at Domerth and stated "Morrik can take the wagon. I have a mount that can keep pacsse with your double headed horssse." He let out a sharp whistle. Out from behind a group of trees a large creature that looked much like a giant lizard of some sort with 6 legs. "This is my basssilisssk. Don't worry, he can't turn you to petrified wood unlessss we wantsss to. It would be sssmart to not anger him."

- I won't be riding in full speed. It'll take too much time for the rest to get there. We who get there first will only waste time waiting for others. And I hear that bandits are stalking the road, it'll be safer in a clutch. Your beast's gaze can do nothing for me, my vision is protected well, as you can clearly see. Enough chattering, lets start the journey.
The company moved out of the clearing to the road, going deeper and deeper into the grove.

As the party rode throught the forrests, Osseric kept to his solitude in his carriage. The sweatbread had already cleansed his palate of the disgusting taste of the Soulessence and his body was close to being what it was before he fought the Elf.
Osseric took the skull that he had taken last night and looked at it from different angles.
"What to do...with a skull?"
Osseric ran his finger over the joint on the dome.
"No life...left in it, no magic...lingers."
He probed the eyesockets.
"No scrying puposes...no memories to...probe."
Then Osseric probed the skull even deeper with his mind.
"Yes...there is something...that lingers. Vengeance...a deep desire for retribution. This skull may...be of use to me...yet."
Osseric smiled and took a small but sharp obsidian knife. Slowly and methodically, he carved a single rune on the forehead of the skull. While carving he whispered incantations in the Tongue of Death. Requesting the God of Death to lend his power.
When he was done he put the knife away. Osseric said a single word:"Vengeance" The rune produced a toxic glow and it smoked more of the inky smoke that often went hand in hand with Osseric's magics.
"The lock...is set. The skull...will serve me yet. A soul...bound for eternity. Entrapped...in human bone."
Osseric put the skull down as well, wiped the bonedust of his robe and poured himself a goblet of water.
"I hope this...venture will be... worth my time." Osseric said to himself more than anything.

the company rode through the forest with little adventures. Domerth tried to give a little advise to Tael. It seemed like he was talking to a shadow, or to himself, because of the elf's tendency to travel unseen.
- You should watch your tone, because next time it won't end so nicely. And not all who practice necromancy is like our short merchant "friend" here. I should know.- He rode silent for a minute- Too bad that those paranoid fanatic priests of Albear try to exterminate anything that doesn't get along with their doctrines. I bet that I wasn't the only one who is or was pursued by their zealous soldiers. I choose my own gods to worship.

Tael gathered the smoke and appeared seated behind Domerth. "Didn't you notice the grounds and forest surrounding the camp when we left?" he asked, ignoring the knights annoyance with having an extra passanger on the horse. "If it hadn't been for the abundance of life surrounding us during the battle, the necromancer might not have won. I wonder how he will do against lifeless golems inside the castle. Besides, when are we there?"
Without another word the elf turned to smoke and was gone again.

- He has his walking bone piles to fight for him.- Domerth looked at the sky.- The sun's reached the zenith, We'll be there before the sunset. with no interruption's that is.- He spotted a roadblock made of several wagons. Domerth stopped and looked around.
- Bandits. Hirelings of the Church.- He putted on the hood of his cloak and removed the blindfold. Icy blue light flowed from his eye sockets hiding the scars from a long forgotten battle. an aura of frost surrounded him, and the blade was drawn out.
- In the undergrowth. several dozens of them- He said to his companions. They're not aware that I spotted them.- He walked over to the roadblock ad froze it. with a few quick slashes the blockade shattered, and the bandits attacked. It seemed that someone informed the Church of Domerth's Special "possesions" and sent this party of looters and thugs to dispose of him. Sheer numbers never defeated him. It won't happen this time either.

"Impatience, no one has time to listen to ideas." Tael thought. I could have disposed of them before they knew what happened.
Then he turned to smoke and flew toward the men attacking Domerth. Many men meant more confusion, when fighting Tael it was usually a disadvantage.

With the wraith blade glowing in his hand, Domerth fought the encroaching bandits. he impaled one of them, and his soul could be seen, lifting up it's arms, as if trying to grab a rope and escape. seconds later it was sucked into the blade. this act terrified the attacker's , yet they continued the assault, because the dungeons of the Albearic Inquisition are far worse than dying by Domerth's hand. Domerth saw Tael joining into the fight as well, taking great delight in dispatching these lowly bandits. he chased one bandit towards the forest. He grabbed him by the shoulder, and rammed him against a tree.
- Where do you think you're going little soul?- He asked and impaled the man. his soul too was taken by the blade. Domerth thaen unleashed a nova of frost upon the remaining bandits, freezing their legs and arms. Then, cutting them down was easy.

"Well now, you control some cold ice." Tael remarked as he came up by Domerths side. "Wonder which would be more powerful, your ice or my fire." The elf laughed a little as he walked away.

Salim just knocked an arrow onto his bow when he realized that all of the bandits were dead. He put away his bow and arrows while saying, "I really have some catching up to do with you demi-gods."

Osseric dismissed his newmade skulltrap to his little pocket dimension when he heard the commotion outside.
He brushed away the curtains to see Domerth and the Elf fly into a pack of bandits. Rather to his surprise he saw Domerth wielding a Wraithblade and suck in the souls of the men he slew. Wraithblades wielded magics akin to Necromancy but they were of an entirely different origin.
"So our self-imposed...leader is one of...the cursed. Interesting."
Before Osseric had the chance to get out of his carriage, the fight was already over. He shrugged and followed the rest of the party.
However Osseric's carriage fell behind, which he had planned. The cart continued to keep up with the party. When he was out of sight, Osseric had the carriage turn around. He returned to the former roadblock and got out.
"Let us see...what we can salvage." There were a good dozen of the bandits lying dead. About half of them had the distinct greying look of the dead that had their souls already drained. The ones the Elf had killed were greatly maimed or burned. But they retained there souls yet. Osseric set to draining them and had one of his minions get the box of vials.
Osseric was draining the fourth corpse when he felt a distinct mental tug, someone was speaking to one of servants. The coachman of the cart to be precise and one of the Goblins was inquiring about Osseric. Osseric could not tell which Goblin from this distance, but it hardly mattered. Osseric made the the coachman turn his head and speak in Osseric's voice. "The master will return shortly." The voice would sound like it came from the bottom of a well, but it would serve the purpose.
Osseric continued to drain soulesssence.
Somewhat later Osseric had six more vials of the goopy grey liquid and six more skulls. He pondered what to do with the other corpses. Their equipment was shabby at best and Osseric concluded that their skeletal structure would be less than optimal to raise them into minions.
"Still I'd hate...to let these...bodies go to...waste."
Osseric drew a tiny bit of life from the foliage around him and rapidly decayed the flesh of the corpses. Strangely the more damaging a spell was, the less life one needed to drain. Osseric pondered that it likely would have been far easier to have outright killed the Elf this morning, rather than try to pain him into submission. But that would have alienated him from the other adventurers. He had his minions collect the bones in a big sack, he would find a use for them when he returned to his mansion.
Osseric got back into his carriage and gave the command to catch up with the rest of the group.
Somewhat later the carriage joined the party at the rear. The undead horses were capable of great speed when urged.

- Salim, They were nothing. Weak men ruled by fear. their ignorant and paranoid leaders are too blind to see the real life. they had it coming. if not from us, then maybe from somebody else.

"True, but it seems that all of you wouldn't have a problem storming a castle, or slaying a multitude of dragons. I'm just saying that I myself need some catching up to do with you all to even have powers to compete with all of you. Then again, my field is different. More cowardly as some may say."
