Thanks; my Russian is a bit rusty, though ;p ... the closest I can get to it is Classic Greek that I had in high school about 20 years ago, hehe.

That was a stupid question on my part, actually. I tried the mod yesterday, and realised that the map is surrounded by black marble that you can see when you scroll to the edges of the map. Despite having wasted countless hours on HoMM3 (in its various forms), I didn't remember that ...
Anyway, the tool works fantastic! Now I just need to find a resolution and colour mode that pleases me (some resolutions and/or colour settings gave the game somewhat a gritty feel for me that I didn't really like). I only played around with it a short while, so I am just starting to find my way through it.
By the way, was it just my impression, or is the music deeper and more colourful, with the mod? I thought it might have been my imagination because the mod changed the display, but I kept noticing it through all my fiddling with the settings.
I didn't yet see an option for it yet, so perhaps I didn't look careful enough (I've scanned about half of the posts in this topic too), but is there a way to keep the extended interfaces - which I really like - but also keep the artifact pop-up window? I kinda like reading those little stories (even if I read them thousands of times over), and sometimes they're used in campaigns with modified texts. I noticed that flipping off the extended interfaces will reinstate them, but then I miss all the nice interface additions.

In _HD3_.ini, set SkipMapMsgs to 0. I didn't test with artifacts specifically, but everything else that pops up in the bottom right corner instead of a front and center prompt works "classically." I assume it would be the same for artifacts as well.

Thanks! I indeed didn't look careful enough . The funny thing is that it has details for option 0, 1 and 2, but the default is set at 3 . With that setting at 0, as you suggested, you indeed get the popups again for the Artifact pick-ups, as well as for flagging Mines and such.
Now I just need to find some time to submerge myself into HoMM3 again .

I have the same impression, and I think that it has something to do with these settings: <NewerSoundLibraries> = 1, <Stereo44Music> = 1, <AsyncSounds> = 1

Hello, I've got a little problem with the latest HD Mod.
On this screen you can see that I don't have a menu button which allows turning on quick combat, set timer etc, how to restore it?

Have you tried looking into the _H3D_.ini file? It's accessed from the HD launcher, in the bottom right. You can edit the settings there, with which the game launches. I am not sure if there are options for what you're looking for, though.

Thanks for your interest, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've checked the .ini file, but i haven't found anything which could help fix my problem

Another question/suggestion:
Is it possible to give Pandora's Boxes random content when creating maps yourself? If yes how, If no it should be fit in certain cathegories like
: cat 1: minor art or some rescources or < 100 t 1 creatures
cat 2: lvl 2 art, some rescources or < 75 t2 creatures
etc
etc
cat 5: relic art, much rescources < 10 t7 creatures

Did you try turning on HD+ option in HD3_Launcher.exe?

Experiencing a strange bug with the newest version of HD+ mod (ran into this with the last version as well...sort of.): First the game crashed with an error message I forgot to write down. So I tried to reload from the autosave, and it worked except now I get the message that I should try playing the game with the HD+ mod installed (which I have always done since I have been aware of the mod). Before this message would only pop up if I tried loading a saved game from a previous version of HD+ mod but now it is doing as above and I have the latest version.

Would it be possible, when in combat, to not only show the range of damage a stack can inflict, but also the amount of critters it can kill?

I am enjoying the HD+ mod for the past 3-4 hours. Feels very nice indeed! Great job!
What I would like to know though is:
1. Whether I can disable the "invite hero" option and still retain all the other tournament extensions.
2. When I add another random map generator under the _H3_DATA\Templates directory by creating a directory for the name and then inside that directory putting the rmg.txt that I want it to be there, what else should I do so that I can actually use the rmg on run time? At the moment seems that this is unusable.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Nevermind. The bug was actually taking place regardless of all the factors I mentioned above (whether on my Windows 8 laptop or my XP gaming rig, every game eventually got plagued by the "You Should play this with HD+ mod." message). It is fixed now in the newest version.

You can just choose not to use it. The option only provides a Hero selector in the tavern, with which you can select the next Hero to take the place of the one you're hiring. It defaults to "random", which is exactly the behaviour of the game as it used to be.
If you're worried that your opponent(s) may exploit this in a multiplayer setting, have you checked the HD3_.ini file? It has a load of different settings. I don't recall if the Hero invite option was one of them, but I would be somewhat surprised if it isn't. You can access the HD3_.ini file from the launcher, at the bottom right corner.

The bug when you try to sell something to Artifact Merchant in your backpack is back. I tested and it does not happen when HD mod is off.

Thank you Maurice. I did check on the ini file which is available through the launcher, but there was no specific option for the random hero thing. It appears as if it is an either "all" or "nothing" from the tournament extensions. I will post back if I figure it out, but of course if anyone knows, please share.
And you are right, I am a little bit worried of people summoning heroes that they like; say +350 gold a day, estates specialists, or heroes with good specialties to be used as main; Crag-Hack, Kyrre, and so on.
EDIT: Moreover, is it only my feeling, or do the random generated maps tend to have flaws on the latest version? I still have not generated a map based on jebus that was not "broken" somehow.
