Quote: If it is an ability that can be used only once, it'd be slightly better, but still it is too great a punishment for the enemy shooters, especially of Haven has more than one ranged creature. I think they'll have serious difficulties balancing the ability if they leave it like this.
For me, I always liked the idea of putting my enemy in a tight spot.
Force them to choose: Move or take a bucket load of damage.
As I've said several times, this effect is know as the "Catch-22" effect, where your opponent has to choose between two things that suck.
It creates more tactical variety as well as having your opponent try and guess where they strike.
It outweighed the downside of potentially not getting your opponent to do the thing you hoped he would do in my opinion.
It was a great ability, I'm sad to see it changed.

Very nice. I love how they gave a twist to the old cavalier but this wasn't really a surprised since you can see this unit in the Necro vs Haven artwork with Svetlana (aswell as Sphinxes and Spider Ladies/Avatars).

We're still missing one Haven unit if we assume the svetlana picture is entirely correct.

Regarding the screenshots from the underground map with Namtaru. I think that the mission that is shown is the prequel mission with Svetlana and that it is set on the Naga island in the Jade Ocean where Mother Namtaru is kept captive. It is in jungle terrain on the surface and we see lots of snakes and serpents there and other Asian statues etc.
The Haven town would either be a placeholder for the Naga or be some kind expeditionary force. Perhaps the Naga kid (if Naga is the unknown faction) is some kind of explorer.
I think the underground screenshots is set on the same map, but in the... underground. ;P
We see the huge serpentine Medusa-like face there and it would make sense for Namtarus prison to be underground plus I believe you also see some water there.

That's a nice observation Xerox. I agree about the placeholder thing, I had that theory when the terrains were discussed, it doesn't make sense for Haven to be in the jungle.
I still think the underground setting as seen on the picture is just for that boss in particular and that underground is included for gameplay purposes and not because it's assigned to a faction. On the other hand, IF the setting is Naga related then they are mixing the Medusa into the picture, or actually Ashan Nagas more similar to Medusae than pre-H5 Nagas?

Just a simple question from my part. Does the naga actually have some relation to previous or current lore of heroes? Know that there was found an object called a water temple, but do we any sort of indication that the fifth faction will be naga other than those + the recently discovered medusa head in the mother namtaru screenshot.
At this point everything seems to point at the nagas, but still hope it will be some other faction. Unless the naga-hero ride a hippo or a pheldagryf, then me room will be covered in pink brain matter due to the incredible mindblowing!

Except that brains are gray.
But yes, Pheldagriffs are composed out of mostly Hilarity, Awesome and that sense of wonder you get when looking at a crimson sunset over the sea.
Anyway, yes actually, Naga are surprisingly deeply rooted in Ashan's lore.

We don't know a lot about them, but seeing as they are one of the six original races created by the elemental dragons, it's actually very odd we haven't seen a trace of them yet in HoMMV.

That sure isn't a lot. But have been told, that this is one of the core theories of the fifth race in Heroes VI. Are all those theories built around the texture models, the temple and what little has been seen of Heroes 6? Just dosen't so substantial if you ask me, but are there any more evidence than this which I haven't seen?
Sry, forgot about the double posting! DOH!

No wonder these guys are so furious, everyone seems to be against them... It has to be quite depressing - living in an oven and coming out every 100-200 years only to find out that nobody wants you outside the oven. Like a permanent resident sentient roast-beef in a world of extremist vegetarians...

If there was more evidence then it wouldn't be a surprise anymore. The whole speculation is only about "is the 5th faction the Naga or something we've never heard of?" and people are just saying there are some hints for the Naga, that's all.
And they are being written into the lore, Xerox already mentioned this, it was posted in a Q&A:
[Sveltana] traveled with her master to the Naga islands of the Jade Sea in order to free the Mother Namtaru, a powerful aspect of the Spider Goddess.
The currently revealed pictures seem to be implying that's the scenario seen on them, just that all Haven stuff are placeholders. So if she travels to Naga islands that features one of the confirmed terrains, most likely race in subject will appear, unless the lore says they were wiped out by the time of H6.
I forgot what they said about the tutorial, but isn't the Sveltana mission part of it? It can't be the Necropolis campaign itself, right?

No, that part in the demo is most likely to be the Prologue part. Necropolis campaign focus on one of the children, Anastasia.

The prologue will be the tutorial or part of the prologue will be used as tutorial? I think they did address this once but I can't recall it.

The tutorial will be about Duke Pavel before he died I think. The prologue is shortly after he died I think.
Edit:
Sorry, I'm mistaken. Turns out the prologue is about Pavel too shortly before he died. The tutorial is about young Pavel. It's all in the news thread. Now, I'm not sure about the Svetlana part. Maybe the beginning of Necropolis campaign?

It's probably part of the prologue, he dies shortly after she comes back. I don't think it can be in the Necropolis campaign when all campaigns have only 4 levels. Most likely the prologue features more than just Haven not to make it predictable and give new players a bigger overview on the game before they jump into the campaigns.
