speaking of Michael and bosses, i wonder if that naga poster which surfaced during the second issue of Michale's figurine revelation by the official website could be a naga boss? it doesnt look like any naga unit....and it carries a large polearm/swordstaff type weapon

This news about making Mother Namtaru (and possibly the other bosses) even stronger upsets me and shows once again they clearly are only taking the campaign side of the game into account.
With the miniscule amount of regular neutral units in the game, I was really hoping to use these bosses in whatever maps I make. Let's be honest though, who is going to include these things in MP maps knowing full well that you will lose half your army in one attack.

Quote: This still bums me. For some of us, "faster" does not necessarily mean "better". If they wanted to avoid having factions depend more on one ressource than others, make demands of all ressources even. I don't see the problem.
This change may take a while for me to get used to as well, but it may prove to be interesting in the end. If you think of it, in Heroes 3 (haven't played Heroes 5 that much) it was more difficult to fully develop two towns of the same kind than two different ones, because of the pressure put on the overlapping resources. So less resources could actually make it more challenging strategic-wise. Well, we'll have to wait and see.

That's assuming there's no way to set the Boss's level or hit points in the editor - if the game difficulty can be changed, it stands to reason that the Boss values are changeable.
Also, in that Seige preview, it sounds like he just made his guys stand in the moat. Weird.

What's the point of a MP map with a boss on it ? Whoever kills the boss would lose so many units that he would lose the MP match ... unless the aim of the MP map is to be the first to kill the boss, in which case, it wouldn't matter how many units you lose against him/her, since you'd win the match after the encounter.

So the closed beta is over...and we still don't know what the system requirements are?
It's one thing to withhold information for the sake of building suspense; it's quite another to withhold it simply for the sake of frustrating your consumer base. Will mac users be able to play this game in OS X? Or will we have to wait six months to a year (like we always do...)?

The exact system requirements I don't know. But I seem to recall ubisoft saying that if you can run Heroes V, you can run Heroes VI. So they shouldn't be far off those of Heroes V. And those should be lurking around this site somewheres or around the web certainly.

Well, that would be good. Although it still doesn't tell me anything about required OS. I don't want to have to wait until release day to find out whether or not I'll be able to play the game at all.

Quote: I thought they said that you can use bosses on MP maps...
They never said that ... In fact they've never said anything about MP in Heroes 6.
They said you can place a boss on a map in the map editor, but they never said boss were intended for multiplayer. King Imp is complaining because a feature that is mainly aimed at solo game would be too hard for MP - for which it clearly wasn't primarly designed.
If you want to put a boss on a MP map, then obviously the aim of the map would be that the one who kills the boss also wins the map, and thus noone cares about how many units you lost in the fight.
If killing the boss wasn't a victory condition, how do you think a player who killed a boss and lost 3/4 of his army would stand a chance against the other player(s) ? If you seriously think that a boss should be weaker just so you can put them at every corner of a MP map, then you didn't understand the concept of a boss fight and might as well just put a stack of 1000 Pit Lords or Celestials in its place.

A boss creature might be a good guardian for a powerful artifact, or a fully developed neutral town, or a huge stockpile of resources. It doesn't necessarily have to be the end-game, but making it a truly formidable adversary would make map-makers think twice about what they're using it for.

Exactly, and killing it could be a wictory condition for an OPTIONAL side quest in a campaign to get resources, an artifact, a quicker safer passage, army, a hostage town on your side because you saved them from the Boss...

Since you can use them in the map editor, then you can use that map for multiplayer. Now if they're hard to kill or not, it doesn't matter. They can be used for Multiplayer.

For once, could you at least try to understand the post you're quoting ?
WHO THE HELL said they can't be used for multi ????
Now, repeat after me : THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR SOLO GAME NOT FOR MULTI. So crying because they "might" not be balanced for multi is plain retarded, that's all I said.

You could have a giant map with four players and a boss in the middle. You can't find the others players withought passing in the middle of the map. It would be interesting to see who would be the one who makes the first step
But one thing I would hate is that if the Map maker allows events, someone decided to create a map with an "invisible" event where you have to face a Boss.
Anyways, probably in the future we will see mods that adds weaker "bosses".

I think I have already mentioned numerous times that bosses are neutrals of sorts yes? Key word is numerous. Also that the map editor is highly moddable.. Shouldn't be hard to balance them for multi - fiur didn't even need to edit existing bosses to make his own in H5

This one was discussed here because we didn't know which creature was the one at the top, but it is the water elemental, because this picture was taken in one of the areas of the gameplay video, the one where you fight water and earth elementals. The difference is that in the picture the building is a Stronghold's one, but in the video it belongs to Haven.
The reason why it didn't look like water elemental was because we see her back, so her shiny hair tricked us

hmmmmmmmmmmm did no one else catch this? we can change stats in the map editor?
what about adding creatures or changing line-ups? or even a creature making aspect IN the map editor? Does this mean that adding a new town will finally be possible? Making spells, modifying heroes skill trees? Do we finally have an easily moddable heroes game? How much can we change and how difficult is it? Do changes we make only effect that map, or can we make say a creature, and then have that appear as a random neutral on another map? SOSOSO many questions.

At the very least modding has been said to be way easier than even Heroes V was so we at least have that to look forward to, sans terribly organized files.!

First off Nelgirith, I was not complaining as you keep on repeating. All I was saying is I was a little upset (a far cry from complaining) that it would be worthless to put them on MP maps due to them being so strong.
Of course I expect the bosses to be much stronger than any other unit in the game, but with only 8 regular neutrals (7 of which are believed to be Elementals - really great diversity there) it would have been cool if we could use these bosses on our maps as extra units. Seeing the damage they do though, unless it is an end game scenario, we as map makers will not be able to use them unless as LongDarkBlues and Elvin mentioned we can edit their stats.
It's called options and as people like myself, Nightterror and others have mentioned time and time again, we need as many neutral units in this game so as to not have it get boring fighting the same units over and over again.
