I think Firebolt is a prerequisite to getting Fireball, as just like in the Earth Magic tree, you can see the arrows pointing down to the next level/rank....
I wonder what Rank 3 under Firebolt/Fireball would be? Armageddon? Inferno spell (from H3)?

Armageddon is an ultimate skill for the Pyromancer And if you look at the screenie (of Earth Magic) there are only 2 spells that have an arrow to the next rank and these are most likely single-target --> mass spell (one of them looks like Stone Skin). That means that not every spell requires to have a prerequisite.
Also, being rank 2 means that the hero must be level 10 to get that "skill".

That assumes there is a rank 3 spell directly related.
I think other fire direct damage spells will come in suitably different shapes to not be directly associated, like say Firewall and Armageddon.
Firebolt and Fireball are both projectiles of fire, while Wall and Arma are not.

What would be the point of Armageddon being an ultimate ability if anyone could get it in the Fire Magic tree ?

I really hope that we'll get screenshot of Fire School tree. It's not for sure that there is a link between Firebolt and Fireball but I presume the both are conected. If they're conected I wonder what is the Rank 3. There is a sense about Inferno but we don't know if even exist such a spell in the game.

Why should there be a rank 3 ?
Also, I don't think Firebolt and Fireball are connected. Imo Firebolt is connected to an improved single-target spell while Fireball (available at level 10) would be connected to some Inferno (6x6 square) spell as rank 3.

Hmmm yes I see now, maybe firebolt doesn't lead to fireball, it's just the spell pics look very similar.
The Earth Magic screen only had two Rank 3 spells, one which is Summon Earth Elemental.
So maybe Fire Magic has Summon Fire Elemental and another rank 3 spell (maybe Slayer?)....or maybe Slava is not skilled enough in Magic so there were only two choices of Rank 3 Earth spells and that there are more in the game....

Remember that the skill trees aren't the same for each class. Slava might only have access to the "weakest" fire abilities because he's a knight while an Inferno hero might have access to more if not all.

I think they are related but I don't think they have another related spell even higher.
One is a fire projectile, the second is merely a much larger fire projectile.
My expectations of further fire damage spells would include Firewall, Bloodlust (fire seems like a good school for it) possibly another Fire AoE spell like say Inferno (I don't think it will be a projectile though, more like a sudden explosion) and a few other more utility focussed spells possibly (hard to say at this point) but I'm expecting at least 12 spells per school the majority of which are not directly related to each other.
Similar to how Earth Magic in the alpha screenshot has only a few prerequisites but mostly stand-alone spells.
Earth has 14 spells*, so I'm not going to assume it's the benchmark, but I'll assume all other schools have a similar number.
(out of those 14, only 4 spells are directly related to a lower/higher ranked spell)
*In Slava's earth skill magic tab, in an alpha build, so it's hardly ironclad.

What about our Q&A?! I haven't seen any info concerning it's release or in what state it's in. I swear I'll start sacrificing small aviary animals preferably with a blue hue if I have to to get some info about Q&A it had some really good questions (Well some are answered by now but still)!
Don't make me go there Cepheus...
I'd be totally fine with an answer like "Yeah we're working on it or we're holding it back a bit to get maximum information output out of Julien etc. just anything so I know whether it's still alive or whether it's been forgotten.

And we should also keep in mind, that the only screenshot of an earth magic tree, was from a might hero.
So maybe there are even more levels of magic or more level 3 earth spells, who are just inaccessible for might-heaven-heroes.

14 spells per school seems reasonable (98 spells in total for all schools).
Other spells under Fire Magic might be the same spells that were in Heroes 3 under Fire Magic with the exception of spells belonging to Dark or Light which weren't in Heroes 3 (eg. Frenzy, Bezerk, Blind)
So could include:
Magic arrow / Eldrith Arrow
Prtection from fire
Bloodlust
Firewall
Land Mine
Fire shield
Slayer
Summon Fire Elemental

Has Cepheus sent the Q&A to UBI? Many of the questions are old already.
I sent him HCM with the same question "What about our Q&A?" but he didn't respond.

I'm sorry. I had exams the past two weeks and haven't been able to focus on HoMM. Since we're starting the AoH work sometime soon and the beta is coming shortly to answer 95% of the original questions, I wanted to create a new Q&A and reserve it as a surprise for the site's relaunch. So much for that now.

I think the might heroes and magic heroes of the same faction have the same access in the magic tree, remember it's you who chooses what to go for now with your ability points (including spells)......the difference between might and magic heroes is the stats (might attack, might defense vs magic attack, magic defense).

Seriously I do apologise for the phantom Q&A and all of its postponements. I underestimated my exams and the resultant lack of free time terribly; if it weren't for Elvin and all he is doing, you would probably have no news at all right now. I will be back in action properly in late June but until then I can only be of minimal help. Sorry again.

Wasn't there a number given for the number of spells in some preorder advert from UBI or similar material? At work and can't search now, but I remember some large number being quoted (150+ I think).

It was a Q&A which mentioned that there will be more than 200 spells (active and passive)...(eg. active = fireball, passive = logistics).
The 98 spells I am referring to are only magic spells from the 7 magic schools, ie. not including warcries, passive abilities....
