@gnomes: Point taken. I was thinking of possibility for last resort, so not to let an absence of narrative hinders creativity outburst any given week

Ouw, evinin is having Valentine. How sweet! OK.

Second - your characters know the Phoenix Lady and she knows them very well. They haven't seen her after she got her "sickness". Anyway, feel free do use her.

I'm still confused about this uber character. So she wasn't the one sending all the letters? That she and the heroes know each other is fine, though I'm still having difficulty connecting her into my storyline since unlike Zehir, they have yet to meet after her sickness. But never mind, I'll come up with something

when you get another letter you'll write a Fic only for that character and another one for your first character. Only after that you will be free to make their stories one.

Fair enough. And your second was a great fic, btw.

Thank you, Duncan.
I'm really concerned about the two missing Fics (for me it's late in the night now). I hope that I'll manage to do the narrative tomorrow (it's going to be in the end of the day for me, I'm seven hours past the official time in HC). I think it's enough time for the two Fics to be written.
Have a nice Valentine's!

Ok now... Here's what we must do in order to make things work.
First - it's Sunday - Mark, Godric - are we getting something from you guys? The thing is that I want to do the Monday narrative today and post it today because I don't know if I'll have time tomorrow (I'm not sure for today also). I have something really special in mind.

I'm sorry for the delay. It's been a very rough week. I'll try to get something posted today.

Ok, Mark, I'll wait for you and do the narrative tomorrow. So it's going to be delayed for Tuesday. If there's someone who can't wait for tomorrow, write to me a personal message and I'll try to write the narrative for you today.

Stalemate

Arantir, Ornella and Zoltan had stood ready, expecting Giovanni’s forces to march on through Heresh and assault their outnumbered army. The attack did not come. Arantir’s army remained in their assigned defensive positions. The three necromancers decided to meet again in the Castle’s main hall.

***
Zoltan and Ornella were seated when their leader entered the room.

“I’ve placed small groups on high ground to the east and west of our battle-line.”
“To what purpose?” Zoltan asked.
“To warn us of an attack on our flanks. I do not know what the weasel is thinking but he has not done what I expected”
“You mean marching straight south ?”
“Yes Ornella. With those easy victories and our clearly being unprepared for war, I don’t understand why he’s not finished what he came here to do. Why this delay?”
“I don’t like this pause either said Zoltan as he stood. None of us expected this and it makes me wonder what he’s doing. What his plan is, since it is he appears he’s not rushing to the battle we anticipated”
Arantir looked to Ornella.
“There is a purpose, I’m sure of it, but what? By now he’d received reinforcements” then he turned to Zoltan, “so that cannot be the reason his army has not moved.”
“I think it has to do with Vladimir” Both looked at Ornella and both said “Why?” at the same time.
“Think about it. The last time we knew where Vlad was, he was up north. Giovanni strikes our northern border-forts and easily captures them, pushing south to Ridgeway. Were you serious. back when you felt that you needed to help him?”
“Yes. He was long overdue and when I received that mysterious letter, I knew that he was not staying with some friendly peasants drinking their ale and telling them ghost stories. I felt that something was wrong. Then we heard the news of Giovanni and I have since feared for his safety.”
“ I think you guess right Ornella” added Zoltan. “He would be here if he could and there has been enough time for him to travel back”
“To what purpose? Why would Giovanni want to capture Vladimir?
Ornella looked at Arantir.
“And just what would reason would he need? Isn’t it enough that Vladimir is loyal to you?”
“We do not know for sure that they have him”

At that moment the entire hall began to glow a fire-red. A deep rumble shook the bedrock on which the Castle stood and the tremors lasted for a few seconds as the three looked at each other in doubt, not knowing what was happening. They each looked about the room, the air and space appeared the same no matter which one was seeing. Their vision was blurred as alternating fiery waves of red, yellow and orange in tinted vapors danced amid a smoky haze.

Then as they stood staring at the scene; a shadow began to move within the lava-colors and slowly formed a shifting image in the shape of a woman sitting atop a winged creature. The deep rumble faded to a low background hum and then they heard the phantom say;

“You’ve have guessed correctly. You all are in peril”

In a flash, the vision vanished.
“What was that?” said Zoltan before Ornella could ask the same.
Arantir did not respond quickly.
“I’m not sure but I think we were just warned by the Phoenix Lady.”
“Why would you think that?”
“That shape is like no other I've seen and a cloak of fire is not worn by any other flying creature that I know.”
“I did see the woman rider. But why would she warn us?"
“Whatever it was, did warn us, but why not also tell us what to do? Asked Zoltan
Arantir sat down at the table looking towards the flames in his massive fireplace, trying to recall the strange vision. It was fading but her words he could still hear clearly; “You are all in peril”
“I don’t know why. I don’t know what to think, except that I did not need her to tell me that we are in peril. That’s easy enough to see and we didn‘t need a legend to tell us that.”
“But she did say that I am right about Vladimir and at least that’s not guesswork now.”
“Maybe. Maybe not. To what purpose? Until I know that, I’m not doing anything different then what we’ve already planned. Giovanni’s army is just down the North road and we’ll wait here for battle.” If I can make it so, we will fight on ground of my choosing.”
Zoltan walked over to the fire and looked down at the glowing embers.
“Do you think we will hear from her again?”
Arantir looked back at the dancing flames; "I don’t know”

Only one note here - for those who have exact armies - you can do a battle or not, it's your choice again.

Arantir
He was standing right in front of the castle’s gates. He was ready to do it. A letter was in his left hand, a letter that was about an attack from Giovanni. In that letter was all the information – 1000 Zombies, 500 Vampires and 100 Wights were going to attack this week. “Vladimir” hoped that he would help Arantir’s forces but actually the truth was far away from that…

Gotai
The plan was well made. After another village was destroyed and the children – taken, Alaric’s demonic plan was ready to become reality. He sent little troops against the orcs – just 300 Crossbowmen and 200 Vindicators. But among those troops were the innocent children of the orcs. How can a army like that be beaten?

Findan
Markal adored his new puppets. He gave the new Death Knight Ossir 100 of that unit and also 1500 Skeletons. The Lich Sinitar got 200 of that unit and also 500 Ghosts. Markal was planning to attack again personally with his army of Bone and Spectral Dragons but something made him wait. It was a letter that smelled of fire and rebirth in which we was asked to delay his attack. But he still sent his minions.

Duncan
“They will pay… It’s mostly sure now! My master promised me that! I will avenge my death in the past! I’ll control the entire empire!”
“You will control only in your death soon enough, Laszlo…” He punched Valeria in her face for those words.
“They’ll come for you soon. In the end of the week I’ll send you to your doom. They have already fallen in my trap.”
Events: Laszlo proclaimed himself to be the new King and asked all the other Duchy rulers to join him. Time is short; the others must not join him

Let me clarify this as I don't quite remember: So Laszlo was dead? And Alaric? In that case I have to change some details in my 2nd fic.

They were both dead but now back as normal people again. Don't say much about Alaric, though, if you don't work with Peter.
So Laszlo was a bad guy that Duncan and Wulfstan were going to kill but actually he was killed by Freyda (when her father Godric died in her hands she cursed Laszlo and Elrath killed him).

Then I should've mentioned earlier about their resurrection, instead of "managed to escape" that I used. Just for the sake of consistency (the same case with Ornella case in Mark's fic).

I won't. I only mentioned him a little especially on my 2nd fic, given your narrative there (in the "Events" part).

Zehir:
Markal, though slightly annoyed that his plans with the elves had been put on hold, turned his attention back to the silver cities. His infiltrators that had been planted months before had come through, as their prophesies of death and doom spread throughout the wizard's ranks and more of them deserted. More important then the cities themselves, though, was that fool wizard, Zehir. Where had that boy gone to?
Markal sends out spies and scouts to find Zehir.

Zehir's father looked down at his new body in amazement once again. "So, master, you came through. Even though I and Markal had to dispose of our... Ally to succeed. Micheal should understand. Now, what should I do first?"
Zehir's father (What is his name again?) moves into one of the silver cities, recruiting support from the sleeper cells in them.

((BTW, Evinin, could I get the Phoenix Lady's name?))

The elves wandered dejectedly through the death-ridden forest. All of them knew that they had failed... And they had paid dearly for it. Ossir, commander of the archers and close friend to Wyngaal and Findan was dead, and their most powerful warrior, Sinitar had also been slain. The undead that they had come across ignored them, and they ignored the undead. It was time to give up. Time to go home. Derelin wouldn't hear of it.

"So, let me get this straight, you four are the most powerful elves alive today, and you're giving up? You're going home?" The heroes refused to meet his withering glare. "So what, if you can't fight him head on? So what if he seems unstoppable? Weren't the demons the same way!" Still, not one of the disheartened heroes moved. "And you are supposed to be the best, the brightest, the last hope when all else fails?!"

"What happens when we fail, then?" Findan whispered. "What happens when we die?"

Derelin was the one who couldn't meet Findan's dead gaze now. "I'm going to go out for a short walk." The not-yet elven king murmured. "I'll be back, soon."

No one stopped him or protested as Findan walked out of camp. No one cared. He walked out for half a mile before he collapsed, weeping uncontrollably. Everything had gone wrong, his friends had changed or died or had been left behind to fight an enemy that they could not hope to win against, Irollan was falling city by city, town by town and no one could stop it and, worst of all, Markal was still alive. They hadn't been able to even scratch him. What was left? Fight? What was there to fight for, what would be left if they did anything but leave, anything but turn their back on their duty. What was there but this overwhelming despair?

He saw the burning red portal opening from the corner of his eye. So we weren't even able to stop that? Not with all we gave to destroy it? Oh well, what does it matter if I die today or tomorrow or in the future? Findan didn't even look up until he heard her voice.

"Findan." The Phoenix Lady whispered from above him. "you've forgotten something that you said. Something about bets and a certain magical blade." She was about to go when Findan grabbed her arm.

"Natasha?" He asked softly, "Is that you?"

She stiffened under his hand. "That has not been my name for a long, long time, Findan. It is the Phoenix Lady now."

For a moment, Findan seemed to have a glazed look over his eyes. Natasha wove her hand infront of his eyes and Markal's magically induced sorrow disappeared. "There. You should be feeling better now." She began to walk away again, but Findan hadn't let go of her yet.

"Natasha, where did you go? What happened to you?"

the Phoenix Lady sighed. So she had to tell another about what had happened again, did she? Oh well, if it must be done... She told him the same story she had told Zehir, and Findan listened raptly, not once looking away from Natasha. When she finished, there was a slight pause.

"So, is there any cure?" Was the first thing out of Findan's mouth.

"No. Sorry, I'm beyond your help. But I must go now." A new portal opened for her.

"Will I see you again?" Findan was holding her arm in a death grip.

"... Yes." Her next look was filled with sorrow. "I'm afraid that you must." Findan released her. "And next time I come to you, don't think that you can call me Natasha."

The smell of sulfur and fire disappeared when she left, the new hope that she had brought had not. Findan quickly tracked his way back to camp. Derelin was surprised to see the man smiling. "Lord Findan, what happened while you-?"

"No time for questions right now. Where did that book of light..." He began to dig through Wyngaal's stuff, "Aha! Found it." He flipped through the tomb of light magic until he found the page containing 'Cleanse' "There we go, all right now..." Quickly, he cast the spell over the other heroes. The light and life returned to their faces as Markal's spell was removed from them. Depression from failure still marred their psyche, this much was obvious, but the heroes no longer looked like they didn't care whether they lived or died. In fact, they looked rather mad...

"Alright, people. Now that I have your attention, I would like to make an announcement to you all." The heroes, who had already been paying attention, waited while Findan collected the last of his stray thoughts. "So, I was just visited by the Phoenix lady (Since only he knew her name). We had a nice talk, she removed that nasty little curse that Markal had put on me, and then we talked about the curse on her... Oh, and a little something called Armageddon's Blade, also called 'Us kicking Markal's a** and going home before the year ends.'"

the elves looked at each other for a second, one thought flashing through their minds. "Where do we find the Armageddon's Blade? A rock in some desert?" Lethos spoke for them.

Findan's smile disappeared. "That's just the problem. We have to keep running from Markal until Nata- The Phoenix lady, reveals herself."

"Right... Well, I don't believe in legends, magical sword or burning woman, but I'm all up for running away right now. What are we waiting for?" The others stared at Lethos, and then quickly they packed up camp.

The quest to find Armageddon's Blade had begun, just as the master had wanted. Micheal sat back(figuratively). Well, how would he like it used against him?

I like the part with "And next time I come to you, don't think that you can call me Natasha." - it's painful. Anyway, good going with that I needed the Phoenix Lady near Irollan for my next Fic (I hope that I can do it today)
