Depends on how you define working class. In Sweden, pretty much everybody with a job is middle-class and these tensions still exist to some degree. A very small minority is actively protesting against "islamization" and racist views do exist among some young men but those are people who are more likely to complain on the internet than actually beat down a person on the street.
There's a significant part of the population that is skeptical towards unqualified immigration though but the reasons for this has little to do with racism. It has more to do with a perception that unqualified immigration strains the wellfare state and the economy.

Europe racism today can be compared to a equation where you sum established facts, add them then the result is valid. You can sugar it by calling "unqualified", "mass immigration", "welfare abuses", it still targets only one specific source area immigration and one race only.

Those polls means nothing. Look at Canada and Switzerland, they look clean. Now try to legally immigrate to those two, it is nearly impossible, the conditions require you being close to millionaire. Then come in France and the day after you have the RMI--> 600 euros/month just for breathing.

It's an enormous, global research project. I wouldn't dismiss it like that.
Is your point that countries with limited immigration makes people less racist? According to this research, countries like Sweden disprove of that. It combines generous immigration policies with an expansive wellfare state. Compared to other countries, Sweden has extremely self-realizing and secular values though.

Oh, I have nothing against immigration, being myself part of it. I am only skeptical about muslim immigration, it brings only trouble wherever it happens, seems they are way too resistant to integration. I am not fooled neither by swedish blindness, they will probably be the first to sink in Europe, due to irresponsible immigration policies.
How's going the violent riots from last night btw? I read whole neighborhoods are burning.

Oh, this research was published in Bulgaria too, according to it the country is full of racist. The thing is, the research is crap. The question is too general and doesn't take into account local nuances. For example, for the regular Bulgarian "a person from another race" is a Romani person in more than 90% of the cases - and that's not even another race, strictly speaking. We have many problems with this particular minority for the last two decades and most people's attitude towards it ranges from neutral to clearly negative. The details are irrelevant but it's good to note that the Romani get deported out of the same blue/dark blue European countries back into our lovely eastern ghetto on regular basis, so the tolerant westerners don't seem to want them more than the xenophobic Bulgarians do. That includes those "Scandinavia über alles" dudes up there who you so love to praise, xerox.

Those who protest are labeled as racists. Many westerners are becoming too soft, or too civilised. People are less willing to take responsibility for themselves, their families and their communities. We have people who will hide in their houses, peeking through curtains and hoping that the police will do something for them when muslim gangs roam the streets. A country that is too civilised, too soft, is vulnerable to barbaric invaders as the Romans found out. This country does need to be hardened against multiculturalism, against ghettos or disrespect for the military. People need to stand up for their own freedoms instead of being pussified and dependent on the state. Anyone who fights against islamic fascism should be supported.
And no, I will not protest, a muslim (more or less) who spends his day to argue on HC against JJ or Elodin is not a danger for me, only for himself.

Don't worry for me, I've handled tougher opponents. With JJ we are not usually in opposition anyway. But I guess it's true I have too much time to spend these days. Speaking of free time, aren't classical music performers supposed to practice for hours every day, you seem to be avoiding real life work yourself?

edit: Awwww, South Africa made it into the blue <3 <3. If I weren't terrified of getting AIDS I would totally give them a hug. They've come so far and still have to put up with so much **** from outsiders. You know, a lot can be said about how areas that have to deal with racial conflict the most can, in the aftermath, become the least racist because they had to confront it head on. I'm increasingly convinced that the stereotype of the southern US being more racist than other states is completely and utterly antiquated and inaccurate with contemporary reality. It's just that the kind of snobbery in places that never dealt with racial issues all that much is harder to detect and goes under the radar.

That doesn't matter, once you're raised in a caste system it influences a mind set that people strictly belong within their own group. It's not the only explanation, but seeing how India is singled out in the study, it's a good explanation.

Actually, that conflict is not with Arab Muslims but Pakistan. Pakistan is simply Muslim Indians that got separated from the state because of that.

No, but that's not specific to India-Pakistan conflict. Ethnical conflict, (not necessarily based on race but sometimes religion, when religion operates as cultural identity) is quite a common issue: UK, Turkey, Spain, Iraq... None of these areas are red in the map but India is. So the effects of caste system seems like a better explanation.

It's a severe sin for Hindus to kill a cow. Muslims kill and eat cows right in front of them.
