Probably your army doesn't have the experience level required for that spell. Use the Train button in the hero screen to train your army.

Alright, I find the window where the armys level is, they're level 0. Is that the same window where you train them or is the train button somewhere else?

Also it doesn't seem like they gain experiance after battles*

If I recall right, I spent some entire days to make the read me pdf file. If there is such file, then it means it has to be read.

Map is a bit different from other maps.

I've done that now! But I'm still very very very slow at progressing...I'm playing like I did when I was a kid, just skipping days to get more units and higher hero lvls.. Probably not the proper way to go. Do you know if anyone has made a video of a playthrough of this map? Would be awesome to see as a guideline.

If i remember correctly I finished my game about month 5 or early month 6 with Master Of Elements on Hell difficulty. You can surely do it much faster but that would be a good indicator of what you should be aiming for.

Basically its all about always pushing forward with Commodus and doing all the secondary stuff like Creature Banks, Quests, etc with secondary heroes. My strategy for the later part of the game (starting month 2-3) was to advance forward with Commodus normally for the first 3-4 days of the week, taking creature banks in the meantime with all other heroes. After a few days all creature banks and important things were cleared so I could use movement of other heroes with combination with teleportation shrines to give a huge boost to Commodus movement range. That way he could travel about 5 times more tiles than he normally can.

In this map the faster you go, the stronger you are so no point waiting (unless obviously low difficulty levels where AI doesn't get almost any stronger)

Yes, I have nothing to add to previous post, except that battles are not exactly novice level so if you go fast, you need to know the tricks.

Awesome map.I say it is a new game not just a map.I tried to play it 2 years ago but i didn't managed to pass Aine.Played Master of Wealth and after that i tried with Master of Speed.
Three months ago i remembered this map and tried again.I started to read all the posts in this thread and i begun with the Master of Speed again.Hell difficulty.It took me 2 months to finish playing for fun when i had time.
Very very challenging game.I turned back at a previous save 6 times before to declare myself satisfied with the course of my game.I saved every day .Some days had even 4 different saves.
Harder and harder battles until Zydar(Cyclops guy,ufff) and Piquedram (Phoenixes, arghh). After these, the battles become easier and easier.I used many tactics posted by Biobob.Great player.

Here some pics from final.









Now i' m playing Master of Elements.Much easier in the beginning , but this gives a lot of fun too.

Hi, you may want to try Daily quick saves mod. It does all the job for you then you can have infinite different saves same day just by pressing F5.

But on maps like this i prefer to name the saves like this :
the begining of a day - TEW4_MoE_01_321 (month 3, week 2, day 1),
at some point  - TEW4_MoE_01_321_bis2
and right after a boss - TEW4_04_MoE_421_Aine (that is right after i defeated Aine and 04 means it is the 4th attempt to find a way and i turned back to a proper save with a week or few days before that )

In this way i keep some kind of clues of how the things were. With MoS (Master of Speed) i passed Aine on month 5, week 1, day 4. I can say MoE has more speed than MoS until now..

P.S. Sadly i figured out about the use of oasis later in the game, only after i defeated Yog.But better later than never.In this way, with MoE, i can reach the 75k movement points needed to finish the labyrinth without spending millions of gold.

Yes Master of Elements can be faster than Master of Speed because of shrines. You just keep advancing with one hero, he casts shrine, next does same thing and so on.

Quick saves mod allows you to have custom saves as well. This way you only save when need, the mod does the regular saving. Try it and see if it suits you. For me is a must.

I played this map for a while and it look great
however i got some problems that don't let me complete it

1) At the beginning Pasis often get stuck after the swan pond, but sometime she don't

2) When i try to flee from Pasis and approuch the "red keymaster tend" i get the message "it would be wise to leave a guard here..." how i do that? sometime Pasis don't get stuck and she will kick my ass ^_^

3) After i conquer the city of Augustodunum "the stuck" Pasis get ported near the red border gate, but she stay stuck there in a boat and can't be attached

4) When i try to check locations of quest guards, ser huts etc..i don't get nothing and often the game crash to desktop

5) All these bugs may be related to the mods i'm using in ERA?
i'm using the following mods on this order:
- In the wake of gods 1.0
- Wog revised
- TEW IW
- XXL
- Secondary skills scrolling
- YONA (5.0)
- New music pack


6) I somehow managed to avoid some of these bugs and conquered the cities of Tenatha, Augustodunum, Lugdunum, Palidinium and Vesentio, but after i tried to find for several hours a way to go without success look like this time i'm stuck for good, and since i can't check quests locations it's even harder to find a way...it seems to reach some points in the map i need the boots of levitations, but i can't find them anywahere
any hints? is there maybe a walkthough i can follow?

You don't need xxl mod to play tew4, you can disable it. Secondary skills scrolling and wog revised too, disable them.

Pasis: yes this is a bug I can't fix, sometimes he will get stuck for no reason on a witch hut, and in that case he will be teleported at the red tent, so no worry.

Then you must start the map with artifact bonus (better this start) and let that artifact on the ground, near the red ten, so Pasis can't land. To do so, just right click on that square when your hero is next to it. It will propose you to let one artifact OR one creature. Leave the artifact you started with.

Crash when clicking on seer huts: not normal. Do you play with HD mod? This may be the problem.

Boots of levitations: behind your 4th town (the castle) there is a border guard, a bit hidden, check. It will let you pass then you find valeska in prison, she must do a quest and get the boots for you.

Yes i was using the HD mod, i disabled it and look like the game don't crash anymore. I thought it was compatible with the map, or even recommended so i never tried to disable it.

I was trying to pass the border guard but it was protected by 28k supreme archangels, so i thought it was impossible to pass, don't check the area for that semi-hidden quest border, thank you!

HD mod and Era don't do well together. I suggest to use all Era interface mods, they do all that HD mod does.

I never experienced problems with Era and HD mod i usually even get much less CtD when i use them togheter, but atleast for this map i'll do as you suggest, and as a humble player i thank you again for the time and effort you put on this great map.

Demons with attack & return + attack all around (available only in hell), protected by efreets with clone ability. Of course you need a lot of damage on demons.
