I'm willing to try...thought only doing Premiership and Champions, and if it won't take too much time maybe add some other leagues too...
Only where to play it? Here or in a new thread?

Premiership could be really tough since games are postponed all the time, Champions league on the other hand would be nice i guess.
You better start a new thread and if your against that you can "borrow" mine aswell but as i said i think its for the better if you create a new thread so its easier to find.
I just hope we get as many gamblers as we did in WC, champions league is nowhere close when it come to sizes on competitions i guess...it would be nice to give it a shot though.

I closely follow Premiership and with Internet, teletext and newspapers help I'll try my best to keep up with all the fixtures...we'll see how it goes...
I'll probably 'copy/paste' your first post from WC thread...we don't need no new rules anyway...
And everybody, hope there'll be plenty of you, expect the thread to be posted on around August 10th...

What I heard is that he's unhappy in Inter and wanna move out. I hate that kind of players who suddenly becomes 'unhappy' when other clubs, who have more chance in winning something, come asking for them...
And where does Real produce that kind of cash for buys like Zidane or Figo, and now Ronaldo...before every now and then they were in debts, have they pay them all or has the king forgive them those debts as Ferguson once said...
Anyway, I dont want to see Ronaldo in Real, as I hate Real and hate lot less Inter, but if he continues with that 'unhappy' crap than good riddance...
Today Zagreb lost vs some Hungarians...ZVE or something like that, and this means no Manchester United here...
First half Zagreb played great, in 30 minutes already led by 2-0, result of first game was 1-0 for ZVE, and then started defending...hungarians then pressed and in 89th minute got themselves a penalty...stupid game...

I’m back to normal life… and the “Ligue 1” (called before “Division 1”) is back too  with a victory of PSG !
I like your idea Nebuka to make a betting game for premiership & Champions League. In the same thread there would be actually news from the other European championships. With the results, some stats but most important: personal feelings about teams, players & special events. We could too bet on some stuff like champion, golden boot, 2nd and 3rd place, best player… of the European championships.
If some people are interested with French Cup & Ligue 1 (or PSG, Bordeaux…), I’ll be proud to give all infos, links or stuff… I know Premiership has a lot of followers, Il Campionato has Sandro… now Ligue 1 has me
Nebuka : A tip if you are afraid about how organize the “bettings” : you make clear rules with how many points for each type of bettings and everyone manages his points. I don’t think there will be cheaters, and if so anyone could see them. You make a ladder in the first post that you can edit every week for example. A kind of Tournament of Honor with special rewards for exceptional bettings. Perhaps rank if you want, and so on… it could be fun !!!

I think we could use the "You think you know football better than me?" thread, because everybody already knows what it is about.
Well, this time the game will be about European Leagues, so I really dont expect any chance of winning again  , and just not getting the last position will be great for me.
Here in Brazil the football is a bit crazy. Small teams winning the tournaments and going to Libertadores da América. The teams here dont have money too(but arent so bad as Italian ones).
What I heard about Ronaldo is that he wont move to Real Madrid, he will stay in Inter, what he is not wanting to.
The Campeonato Brasileiro(Brazilian national league) will start this weekend. São Paulo! São Paulo!

Ronaldo will not leave Inter, who - by the way - have managed to get their hands on Cannavaro. I guess it's gonna be another boring head-to-head season between Inter and juvenpus 
AC Roma will play the first matches without Totti (injured knee); ac milan will lose every match and get kicked out of the Italian federation forever (I hope )

Does someone here has any idea on how ESPN evaluates the teams to create the Top 25 Teams of the Week?
Why European teams are always in the Top 10, and there is at least 20 Europeans Clubs in the Top 25?
Sometimes you can see a club from Brazil, or Argentina or Mexico, but it is very difficult to see them in the Top 15th at least.
I think the rank is very unfair...

I surely dont think so.
There are great teams in South America. The European teams are only more expensive. Brazil or Argentina could make another National Team only of players that play in their country that could win the World Cup.

I didn't say that they're bad.. just that the European ones are better ... And the players are not the only factor. I do realize that in South America you can find hundreds of great players, but it's the coaches and the managers that make a great player outstanding. And as far as I'm concerned the European managers are better than the South American ones (of course there always are exceptions) and that is what makes them better.. not the players..

Dunno if europian managers are better...take Hector Cuper for example. He's not bad  .
I think europian clubs are higher in rankings becouse of competitions. There's larger concentration of quality clubs in champions league than for example in south american cup (Libertadores Cup, right Athimus?). Atleast I think so...
But anyway...ESPN is american so why do you take them seriously? What do they know about football?
Check fifa or uefa for rankings if they have them...

Well as i see it is kinda hard to judge this in the first place concidering there are no really world club championships. I know that there was a try to do one a few years ago and maybe its still running but since the top european clubs didnt prior that tournament at all its kinda hard to say.
What south americas leagues lack if you ask me is the reputation to get some big names which isnt south american players. And im sure that there are plenty of individually great players in both the brazilian and the argentinian league, but from what ive seen they lack in understanding between each other. The discipline in their game isnt as good as it is in europe. Off course that doesnt mean that the football is more boring to watch, quite the opposite i guess...with less discipline in defence and stuff you get a more attacking kind of game which usually is interesting to see. But european clubs have better discipline and therefor they usually gets the results their way too.
In my eyes the english league is the best...the premiership. There is just something extra with the pace in those games, that outstanding pace and these extra individual touches are just great to see. Yupp, the premiership RUELS

Yes, we have awful managers, but not bad coaches.
It is much easier to be a coach in Europe where you have great players in your team. Like in Real Madrid, for example. The coach hasnt got much work.
There are great teams here. And when, sometimes, a South American team is in the Top 25, it is not the 'current' best team.

Heh... Hectop Cuper... that once again proves that European clubs buy the best of South America... and, as I said, there are exceptions... And, to stop something before it begins - I didn't say that SA managers are bad...

Even more wisdom comes from Sir_Stiven. Premiership is great...and we all know what's the best club!
Just today I had great fun watching Southampton versus Fulham. 0-2 for Fulham in just 20 or so minutes...and how it finished? 4-2 for Southampton! Great game!
Not only the games with many goals are good...yesterday Liverpool versus Tottenham was excellent, with only one goal...too bad Liverpool scored...
And to compare...right now on Tv is Lazio vs Roma...35 minutes in game and awfully plenty fouls and no play...boring, boring, boring...though my heart is warmer when looking how 'small' teams beat Juventus, Lazio, Inter...and specially Milan...I LOATHE Milan!

You dont need to say that SA football managers are bad.
I say, and any other South American would say, that they are bad.
Dont worry.
But SA referees are much better than European ones.
There arent many fouls in European games, but when they happen, they are really hard. And most of the time the players arent punished properly.
