In the next big update can we expect some new hero addition?
Especially the one with skill specialty.
Archery is exclusive to Orrin only, while Offense specialty is exclusive to Stronghold faction.
Personally i think every faction should get same treatment in skill specialty department.
Just my opinion tho.

Cove also has an Offense specialist, Corkes the captain.
Orrin is the only Archery specialist though, I find him a bit overpowered, especially with Tower.

Ah, i didnt know that one.
Rarely use Cove heroes except Leena for economy booster on early game.
Sure archery is great for Tower, but the problem is always the speed.

Don't expect too much balance... HoMM "balance" itself is/was/will ever be "special" but it's common for the series same as original M&M.

Well, who knows?
After all they did add some interesting heroes to the original faction, Beatrice for example.
Quite like her as secondary hero cuz her ridiculous scouting range.

Orrin isn't overpowered by any means. He is prone to getting crappy secondary skills and his Attack/Defence progress isn't quite top-notch.
What is more, you seem to overestimate the leverage of ranged units.

Well he is the best knight imo, maybe except for Sir Mullich, but he is not allowed in HotA.
And why would you ever pick Valeska or Ingham, who specialices in one ranged unit, when you can have Orrin who specialices in all, including ballista/cannon? Yes I know Valeska comes with more archers, but that is a very small early advantage.

Do you want to play an HotA map where I solved this problem (for your major enemy I mean)? I need someone to test a map I'm making.

Just finished the new campaign with a score of 2030. First couple of scenarios were a bit too easy but the last one was reasonably challenging - how'd everyone else do?

I hadn`t play heroes 3 since 2004, but a few weeks ago I read about HOTA and I felt like I wanted to play it again. I have played a few offline games with HOTA/HD mod and I want to say to HOTA crew that I think you have done a really great job with a very intelligent approach. In my opinion the key factor that makes HOTA so good is that you have improved the game a lot, adding content and improving user interface without changing the essence of the game (aesthetic and the way you play remain as original heroes 3 was) beside the game is very stable (just one crash in about 20 playing hours). So congratulations and thanks for some more hours of enjoying my favorite game.

First of all magic heros need strong buffs, they are more or less useless, with some few exceptions, 'coz of Might>>>Magic split. Witch is the most useless class in game skills/attributes/levelups it's just damn useless for a town with only lvl3 mageguild.
In case of heros: I dislike Conflux heros, they are just copies more or less, water, fire, earth, psychic elements each twice, 350 gold same. It's boring to me to play always the same specialities and it lacks variety and different gameplay styles in general. Sure the town is special but still... meh...
I doubt this will change at all. 'coz it too much changes from original.

Well witches have the highest chance/risk of learning Eagle Eye, so maybe developers intended for Fortress to learn spells through Eagle Eye, too bad that skill sucks so bad.
Fortress would really benefit from Mage Guild 4.
Yeah Conflux' heroes are kinda boring, they are too similar and some are useless like Kalt and Inteus.

Eagle Eye isn't the only thing it's the 5%-15%-40%-40% chance for AT/DEF/SP/WIS lvl<9 and 20%-20%-30%-30% chance lvl10+. The combination of useless junk like Eagle Eye 10, Sorcery 8, Mysticism 8, Ballistic 8, Wisdom 8 (not sooo useless but witches start with it anyways, 8 points for nothing), First Aid 8, Scholar 7, Intelligence 7 out of 112 (all good talents are about 2-4 on same counter) the lack of spells is just an add.
Dunno if mageguild 4 is a big buff anyways compared to actual levelup behaviour above.

Well I agree. They do get bad skills like Eagle Eye, First Aid, Mysticism etc. And since they get so much power and knowledge it's a shame they are so limited in the spell department.
I guess the best thing a witch could wish for is to be recruited at a tower or dungeon.

If you mean it does not start because 'hota.dat' is missing, try run as administrator. Worked for me

No. I need to edit the HOTA texts. I know that developers use a special program for it, but I can not find it anywhere.

Ikr, it disables annoying thing like cover of darkness.
Scouting is one hell of an asset for secondary hero.
