Hey guys, my mate and I love heroes but often we don’t always have the time to play the full logistics part of it - I’ve been trying to search online on this forum and maps4heroes but haven’t found any maps that are great 1v1 start with big army battle type maps (think Good to Go type things or even just a straight draft an army/hero map)
If anyone has any recommendations could they please share? Thank you so much!

I also would like to see your fav maps. I want to know what maps @BloodSucker likes to play, and @Salamandre & @Fenix4Ever. Some people recommended wayfarer.

Thank the introduction of as many as possible HotA "creature banks" with creature rewards. In my opinion creature banks were a mistake altogether. But understandable in original H3 where devs didn't know how it would affect random maps, which weren't there in the original game (it snowballs easily).
This isn't the same as giving you money, since money is still limited by things as daily construction limit or weekly creature growth, that is to say, sensitive caps on the natural development of the game.
Hand crafted maps didn't have much of a problem compared with RNG, since human designers could easily decide if, how many, for whom, which guards, and where.
Even then there were only angels and wyverns.
H4 doesn't have creature-reward banks for obvious reasons, devs understood the problem of rushing the game (winning a creature bank makes winning the next one far too easy, thus easily conquering everything), but HoTA clearly didn't grasp this simple principle.

This is also why I laugh to hota "competitive players" bullying people with the preposterous notion they know the H3 game and balance better than anyone else. The very fact that RNG maps based on HotA creature banks define their meta, means they are not even playing H3 anywhere close to intended, and that they can't properly appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of a town in actual (creatureless bank) combat.
Any appreciation anyone who only plays random maps where chain-rushing banks that (regardless of your native town) give you free Enchanters, Phoenix, Red Dragons, Sea Serpents, Cyclops and Giants might believe they have about "faction balance" is completely laughable.

Because of variation: creature bank or artifact. Which do you choose in about 20 angels or Angelic Alliance? Also Tower for Gems, angels or firebirds, and new giants in the HotA, so the most important of the tower, I don't play Wyverns, Cyclopses with. In the future useless number, etc Only scouts, and main heroes don't allow. Ban! Minds can change in creature bank growth in WoG. The same H4. Strategy isn't a change, those are MOD.

There will be no new overhead soils (especially without properties), but we already have a lot of decorative content and it continues to be created. Decorative content is the easiest content to work with, because it does not need to be tested for balance and bugs, it can be added immediately to the game when ready.

Things, like Primary and Secondary skills, Spells and such.

When I first installed HoTA, I was excited about playing Cove all of the time, but that excitement quickly waned and I went back to playing my all-time favorite faction - Rampart.
I don't know what to call it, loyalty, comfort zone, if I'm not playing Rampart, I feel bad the whole game I'm not playing Rampart. Like in Turtle WoW - if I'm not playing Alliance, I feel bad I'm not playing Alliance and I can't enjoy myself.
I think the new factions HoTA is adding are cool, but after people get used to them and accept them as part of the game, they become less significant.
Also one thing that's been bothering me is that HoTA is named after the campaign related to the Cove faction, pirate stuff, mythic treasures, but now this new update will be about Steampunk Western Wastelands so I don't understand how the name HoTA still fits.
I think they just picked a bad name to begin with that doesn't work or make sense anymore.

Hota's campaign ends with a sort of a cliffhanger, Factory campaign can (and probably will) continue the plot wth the Horn of the Abyss artifact.

Me too, I'm looking forward to play the factory, that's definitly the most important thing for me, and getting new decorations for map making is simply the cherry on top of the ice cream! An extremely huge and sweet cherry!
On the other hand I'm curious about that new mechanic, I wonder what it might be about and how it might work. Whatever it might be, I'm looking forward to see and try it by myself, I'm sure it'll make me take some days off at work...

I'm not sure. Horn of the Abyss artifact has strong Lovecraft inclinations. Factory - none. I guess it will be parallel story (with pottentially crossing in the future or last campaign).

I agree with you, thus Grotto, and strong artifacts can't make stronger. I guess Factory is banned spells are water, maybe skill too, Factory focuses on Armageddon, etc
