Horn of the Abyss as an artifacts (as well as few others) have been presented at df2 long time ago. Now I wonder where did they go and if they're going to come back.

Question for HotA Crew:
Will you do something about Thunar/Erdamon? They are practically the same hero with different portrait and bio. How about adding more variety here?

I second that. I'd love to see more changes in Conflux heroes though - e.g. Thunar/Erdamon, Labetha and Gelare seem to be a bit of outliers.

Well, it's not working for me, even after 1.3.1 patch.
@Hobbit:
Yes, Gelare or Grindan could get different specs. Labetha seems little bit OP for me, but honestly I don't care about her as much as the earth elemental duo.

the hota map editor is not working. I am using windows 7 64bit.
message:
ResourceManager::GetText could not find the "text" resource "editor.txt".
Fatal run-time error!
someone knows how to solve this ???

Also, some Artefacts(Top level ones, truth be told) from me:
Eye of Medusa
The Eye of Medusa makes all hostile spells petrify the enemy after applied.(Even mass ones like Armageddon will petrify ALL of the enemies)
Ebonest
Ebonest will give to your hero +6 Attack, +3 Defense and at the start of every round all your troops recieve the "Slayer" enchantment
Sacrifical Dagger
Hero casts "Sacrifice" spell for Half Mana Cost and can sacrifice enemy stacks.

I've got a random crash when playing "Thousand Islands" I believe it's called, single scenario.
Can't recall what it was though.

Tried Thant Today in Jebus just to see... Awful experience!
With the new changes in morale, luck, and some nice new artifacts (ban level 1 spells artifact for EG), I honestly think some magic heroes could hold ground against might ones only if there would be more mana regeneration available to them, and would have spells more readily available. These could be somehow addressed with minor modifications to Mysticism and Eagle Eye.
+++ Request: Improve Mysticism.
1) Trigger Mysticism after every battle.
or
2) Make mysticism +3/+6/+9 instead of +2/+3/+4
+++ Request: Improve Eagle Eye.
All heroes with corresponding level of Eagle Eye will learn a shrine spell when that shrine is visited on the map (by one of your other heroes).
Basic EE: learn level 1 spells,
Advenced EE: learn level 2 spells,
Expert EE: learn level 3 spells
In addition maybe you could also learn spells level 1-3 from your backpack!
Even if not on main hero, you could combo Scholar with EE on 1 or more secondary heroes.
+++ Related Request: Improve Hypnotize.
Raised power of Hypnotize from 25 to 50
Raised Hypnotize Advanced bonus from 20 to 50, expert from 50 to 90

I tried a small map and was doing well but then it crashed m1w2d7 I have reloaded 3 times but it keep crashing. But I will try again tomorrow, just hoping it doesn't happen often...
Btw I really like the new faction The Pirates are quite powerful and the Nixes are very tough (just wondering how the defense bonus is calculated against behemoths ). Some of the creatures are quite fragile to die like Seawithes and Stormbirds but, on the other hand, they have their benefits. Splitting Seawitches to 6 slots is a lethal strategy against any monsters... Some abilities of the heroes seem like overpowered imo. For instance, the clone hero can be too useful for Castle troops...
The town theme is nice. Was it made by HOTA crew?

One thing I've noticed on Pirate's Utopia map - if you start with Cove and choose Eovacius as your hero, you'll get Expert Wisdom and Water Magic as well as the Shield of Naval Glory (he is placed in a prison and has those assigned).

Hey!
The "bug" I have is a crash to desktop after AI end their turn, sometimes it happen sometimes it doesn't... if crash happens few times in a row my saves files get wiped out. But no errors are generated in logs. I tried other options in HD mod, but it still crashes. It only happens in Hota, other expansions work fine.
I hope this is fixable!

BUG HotA 1.3.1 (GOG version)
The fragment of a description is sometimes missing in the new level window.
In the Hill Fort (Levels 1-5) the creatures which cannot be upgraded because of their too high level are described as already upgraded. This is a bit confusing. Maybe it should be something like "This creature cannot be upgraded here".

Why hota even has such stupid obvious self explanatation when choosing new skill after leveling up?
example:
"your hero may earn either expert earth magic or basic tactics"
I mean you already see the choices, thats not only redundant it makes game feel like a program.. Just add few more explanations and tabs and popups and i will feel like in microsoft excell of some sort. I know im exaggerating but you got my point.

You should probably upload a save from one of the said games, otherwise I fail to see how they can use your reply for anything with such limited information.

If such text doesn't get in the way, or slows down the game, why should it not be there? What's the point in removing it? Just ignore it. Also, it gives a narrative for people who are new to the game.
