I am still not sure what VCMI is.
I have read about WOG and seen videos of it and that really does'nt seem like something for me. But I don't know VCMI...

In the very first part in the changelog, all about the Covetown it says something like "If all towns (excluding Conflux) are made available on the map then Cove will be available (otherwise Cove will be unavailable) or something like that. Sorry, I am on my phone, when I am typing this, so I can't copy/paste the exact sentence, but it is at the very top, about the Cove town.
But this also only applies to RMG?
If I can play with all 10 towns on a map then I will definitely download HotA.


This ONLY applies to RMG. It's an automatic rule of appearance on existing templates. On custom maps you can customize available castles yourself.

Besides that, would be nice of you if you actually read a little bit and learnt some facts before writing wrong stuff and creating chaos. In HotA you can have all the towns at once.

And this balance issue of yours is simply not true even in singleplayer maps, as both Stronghold and Fortress develop much faster than other towns, therefore always have more creatures and better heroes. Also, not only Crag Hack and Tazar are good heroes since all Barbarians are best heroes in game and Beastmaster are decent at least. Oh, and Inferno is always the strongest in long games, except Necro.

I am very happy to hear that, but honestly I think the log is a bit confusing, maybe you could make a section about what applies to RMG or do you just assume everyone plays with RMG? No offense, just a question.

I don't wanna argue with you here, but all I said was that I was new here and I found what the HotA team are doing really interesting and I read this entire tread and the entire changelog, that is a lot to read! Then I wrote a little about my own map and the way I feel about stuff, apparently I am not allowed to do that. My sincerest appologies.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree about Stronghold, Fortress and Inferno. If Inferno is the strongest town why did the HotA-team buff magogs and devils?

RMG: it greatly improved since the original one, you might try to see: they are balanced, some poor, some rich, never the same.

Lol that might be it.

Maybe I should give the RMG a try then, never liked the randomness about it before, but if that is improved I might like it.

Lookin forward to try Cove and see the new heroes, artifacts and mapobjects, hopefully I won't be disappointed.

only problem for your mapgenerator 2 towns can't be played 'coz only 8 players are available so 2 towns are neutral/not on map, as for maps new maximum is a 252x252 grid old maximum was 144x144

I have done a lot of reworking regarding starting skills on heroes, unfortunately I have'nt got access to my game or word-files right now, but I would like to show you what I have done. I also hate when heroes start with the same skills for example Erdamon and Thunar, Ignissa and Pasis or Dace and Shakti.

Actually A. Behemoths are not that fast, secondslowest and Hydra are even slower. Also Stronghold and Fortress are susceptible to magic, they got no natural resistance or mindspell immunity, so you can just slow and blind them to hell. Also Stronghold and Fortress archers are really slow and no abilities, not even no melee penalty and these guys are supposed to be fighters?!
On Inferno I also only wanted to buff their hp, otherwise they are fine.

Ok man, nice to see you have scenario and friends to play with, but please don't embarrass yourself anymore by claiming ridiculous things like how weak are fortress and stronghold. It's been 15 years those things are analyzed here, in HC forums, so you might take the time and read some in the library then discover the game which you obviously don't know so well.

Yes haste counters slow as it does for every other faction, so no difference about that.
Sometimes I think you HotA guys are elitists which won't listen to anyone but themselves. You think you are so pro and know it all, well not everyone agrees with you about that apparently.

Whoa, whoa! Easier on the turns. The only representative of HotA Crew here is me (plus Vade Parvis, Sav and Docent Picolan if they appear). All others do not have anything to do with the team. And I can't tell our users how exactly to speak with each other, even in HotA's native thread. Otherwise, Macron would be long gone from this place and never seen again.

As for all your suggestions - if you've been proposing those to HotA Crew, then you should have stated this explicitly. Otherwise - it is by default for inter-user discussion and we have mostly stopped to take part in such (at least on part of "balancing"). All arguments have been long spoken.

However, in all this flood I may have forgot to thank you for getting into what HotA is. We do appreciate our users whether they try to reinvent a wheel themselves or not. It's their right to try. It's our right to say "Yes, we have thought about that too" or "This has no place in HotA as it violates its principles".

Sorry Nik, I did'nt know who exactly was part of the HotA crew, I thought Salamandre was, at least he sounded like that and he said that I embaressed myself and stuff, that is quite offensive.
I am not here to try to change your patch, I already said you guys should do what you think is best, it is your work after all.

Sorry but you seem clueless about what's going here. First, Hota is not a patch. Secondly, you talk about vanilla game factions, which has nothing to do with Hota, so you get answered. I don't know how you concluded that someone answering you about stronghold and fortress is a Hota "patch" crew, but anyway, unlike you, I have statistics to back up my arguments.

Heroes tournament

Click on statistics and see by yourself ratio winning about all towns. Those results are conclusion of 10 years online games. Still entitled to your opinion about stronghold and fortress bad towns? Then read next:
