Cassiopeia can be considered kinda OP, Oceanid rush can be insane.

Edit: Tyraxor is better than Gundula in Stronghold for the early Wolf Raider push, but the build order quite sucks if you want Wolf Raiders and Behemoths.

I can mention many things in Cove that are (slightly) OP, but I don't think I need to do that again. Just hope they won't go as much or even more crazy with Factory.

This discussion is kind of pointless, I'm talking about customizing a faction for SP maps, I wouldn't do something like that if I wanted a PvP balanced faction.

Oh, I see. But I was mainly talking about HotA factions (including  Ram Ranch) overall balance while just replying a bit to other stuff.

I sound like a broken record but I *really, really* want an overhaul to Conflux. I think concept-wise it's a very loved faction but execution-wise it's pretty widely disliked. Personally, it's my favorite faction out of any heroes game but it is implemented very poorly. Boring heroes, extremely unbalanced troops, overpowered unique buildings etc.

Conflux also get more expensive with units and nerfed grow of Phoenixes(+Firebirds has only golem like 50% resist against fire damage spells)

There are still some highly annoying things in HotA, I really wish were optional or at least the possibility to mod them back.

* Tower's new build order.
* Sprites requirering Mage Guild and Magic University.

I guess the Pit Lord building not needing Mage Guild 2 and Arch Devils -2 luck are alright, since Inferno could use these buffs, but it does mean you never really need to cast Misfortune, if you have Arch Devils.

The Firebird change is good and bad. I absolutely HATE Fire Immunity, they don't have that anymore, but now they can be affected by Blind and Berserk, which they were not supposed to.

I like Tower's new build order, the older one was crappy. Now you can build more freely and faster.

Also, no, there won't be any option to enable/disable stuff and such, not even in the future.

Yeah I know, but you can't even change it back through modding, that is blasphemy!

What they should have done with the Mage Tower was lowering the special resource cost from 5 to 2, there is no reason a downgraded level 4 building should be that expensive. (And then added the 3 missing special resources to the upgraded Mage Tower.)

Ehm. Why would anyone be concerned about something like this? The point is exactly to give the player access to Misfortune effect for free.

Well, because the Sprites can actually do stupid stuff that lvl 1 shooter isn't capable of. One sprite can kill thousands of slow units, if given chance. Normally, that kind of ability was unlockable at day one.

We only know the Halfling specialist exists, but we don't know how she will exactly work. It's still possible that she won't even have 3 stacks of shooters to start with, how many Halflings are in the normal starting army or if the three stacks have "normal" amount of Halflings.

Ram Ranch will simply have all good faction features (except no retal), that's how we can say it'll most likely be OP.

Master Gremlins on steroids (I mean, even without specialist, protected by a few units, only the Master Gremlins deal quite high amounts of damage). Then we've got possibly decent units right after Halflings. Also, the level 4 automatons, which might be able to be "resurrected" by the sweaty cowboy hero or be created after the battle. 2 "alternatives" for first level 7 unit to build, depending on map. Even this in itself is much, the choice of the level 7 unit. You can either go with the ultra buffed boxer robot or the Arma immune bird, etc.

@Hourglass That's why I said it SEEMS Factory is OP.
What we know so far:
* 2 level 7 units and a total of 8 recruitable units.
* Level 1 units that are capable of shooting, even as downgraded version + a hero specialising in them, it could be a campaign hero, but we don't know yet.
* Ranged level 6 units, with ranged retaliation, that works before they are actually hit!
* One of the level 7 units can become invincible for 1 turn and as upgraded it can even attack in this state. This also allows for Armageddon tactics.
These things have me at least a little concerned so far.

The thing about Arch Devils is that Inferno is one of the few factions suited for Fire Magic, but now they have one less spell to cast because Misfortune is irrelevant. Melodia does'nt need to cast Fortune either, when she already has Luck.
It's these stupid morale and luck caps that ruin things again.

Okay I can understand Sprites might be a problem in very early game, but did they really need to make it so difficult to build them? What about Harpy Hags and Cerberi?, they are still pretty easy to build.

The 2nd problem with Sprites is Luna tactics tho, unlike with Harpy Hags or Cerberi. They also have Air Elementals, the strongest level 2 unit.

When you're saying OP, what do you mean exactly? To me OP is simply always overpowered, unbalanced thing. Currently, I've not personally seen enough to call something OP, as there's still way over half of the data in the fog of war. Imo it makes no sense for them to purposely design overpowered faction. Sure, things should be interesting, few people would actually be interested to play Stronghold-like town, if it was released today.

Halflings are for sure better than Master Gremlins, but we don't know how many of them there will be in the starting army, and they still share the same flaws as master gremlins and all other factions that are using low-level shooters as a powerstack - if they're reached, it's likely gg.

The invulnerability of Coualts is cool and all, but it will likely be worse ability than magic immunity in general. Maybe they can be used as support units to block attacks, but idk, bone/ghost dragons have also an supportive kit, and they aren't really appericiated.

For the rest of the units it's still hard to comment anything, as no stats have been released.

You've still got the option to choose and plenty of unit combinations and features in the faction. Also, imagine that they'll get only better with the upgrade, and even if they will be only 2/3 of the number of Gremlins, that'll still be a decent amount. Also, you don't let them be reached in the first place.

And they said the unupgraded bird will be offense oriented with slightly slower defensive stats, but that changes with the upgrade.

Also, it's not a Stronghold-like town, it's Ram Ranch in H3 with automatons and such.

Also, from the videos, you can estimate the stats of the other units, and the worms are pretty decent, as well as the other lower-tier troops.

The buffed robots will have around 60-80 damage per unit (or very high attack skill). Yes, I used H3 assist in order to estimate their damage value.
