h7 is going to be a story about a faction away from haven. of course in the end yes the haven guy is in the centre.
Exactly this.

+10000000 (I'm from Ukraine). Would like to keep a Ukrainian/Polish/Hungarian vibe though.
boy i hit the spot or what? smth about ubisoft being russian? somebody care to explain since i am bored to google?

Not sure what you meant there. Ubi is a french company. And I said I would like them to keep a bit of eastern european vibe, primarily Ukraine or Polish one, so...

That depends on what Duchy of Haven is in the picture, most are in character based on one of the bigger European cultures of the Middle Ages.
The Griffin Duchy, and it's offshoot the Raven Duchy, are Slavic/Russian in character.
The Falcon Dynasty, and it's offshoot the Stag Duchy, are Irish/Gaelic in character.
The Wolf Duchy is German in character.
The Unicorn Duchy is English in character.
The Greyhound Duchy is French in character.
The Bull Duchy is Spanish/Italian in character.
But since the Griffin Duchy is a big spotlight-hog, much of Haven Goings-on comes across a bit russian.

That's some usefull info didn't know half of those
EDIT: btw, about all those counterparts, we know dwarfs are Scandinavian, nagas are Japanese, mages are Arabian, necromancers are Egyptian, orcs are Mongolian/Mayincatec/Bedouin, and I guess elves are a bit Celtic. That leaves us with dark elves and demons. Demons are, well, demonic, so my question is: what real life culture dark elves are similair to?

Honestly I don't understand why whole nation should be responsible for the political games and information war of some countries. And how slavic names (not russian) are associated with events of past months.

In both cases, no.
Inferno is not based on any culture, certainly not aztec. Island Orcs are slightly Aztec, or some other Native Meso-American Civilisation. But not Inferno. Inferno is not based on any Earthly Culture, it is an ecclectic amalgam of apocalyptic, Cthulic and Demonological ideas.
Dungeon isn't based on Indian Culture. It's based roughly in the Dark Elf trope combined with a slightly insane combination of Barroque/Roccoco architecture.

Interesting. I never thought of H5 Griffin as Russian.
Anyway, I would love to see those other factions in action.

Really? Not after every Griffin character in the game having a Slavic name (Nicolai, Ivan, Slava, Svetlana, Anastasia, Kiril, Irina, Sandor, Anton, who else is there?)?

The first time I played H5, I thought Isabel was taken from the Spanish Queen Isabella and H3 Catherine was from Tsarina Catherine the Great of Russia.
I sure do hope the next female main character will be bloody Queen Mary. She'll be killing peasants who does not believe in Elrath. This time, no Biaras or redeeming twists to redeem her character. That would be interesting.

Sandor as well as Laszlo are infact both Hungarian names. Not sure about Anton bnut the rest do seem to be slavic in origin.

Do we really care that much about storyline? I love the Ashan history with the primordial dragons, then elemental dragons and the timeline in YSD. What's in between with these Duchy indifferences doesn't really matter....it's gameplay that's important. I remember Marzhin's unfinished H5 LOTA maps...didn't really follow the story but the gameplay and adventure style solutions were a fresh innovation to the map exploration!
Once we finish the campaigns, we want to play on with multiplayer and duel maps! Three important things: Replayability, replayability and replayability.

Isabel wasn't a Griffin by birth, only by marriage. She was a Greyhound by birth, so it's not that strange that she doesn't come across very Slavic.
