I know them. But didn't Nival at the very early stages of Heroes VI development got a more lucrative offer and Ubisoft then had to look for another dev team? At least that's what I recall...

By qualified I just meant know what to do and how to do it, and be motivated (this is where passion comes in). I enjoy H5 with the MMH5.5 mod (I got the game specifically to play the mod - I haven't played any other Heroes games published by Ubisoft), and the 3D kinda feels nice once you're used to it. But I do not know why Nival was dumped as the Heroes developer after TotE, when they had just started to develop some momentum and were on a roll.
You should try playing it on vanilla or with just rebalancing mods. MMH 5.5 is really good, but I really dislike the fact that magnomagus has reintroduced classes for factions. Previously every hero had potential to be either Might or Magic user and the uniqueness of his/her way was guaranteed by dozens of unique faction skills, but in MMH5.5 it's back to HoMM III-inspired system.
If you want to, I can link you to rebalancing modpack I use. It is more in line with keeping spirit of HoMM V than making it another HoMM III.

It is well known that Ubisoft never hires people for more than 3 years.

It's how Ubisoft does things. Ubisoft has a lot of work places ; bosses are the 5 brothers, then their wives, then their family, then friends of their family, etc...
They do not want anyone to have enough experience in the company because they would start getting some power. Also they would charge a higher salary. Giving the H6 and H7 contract to Nival would empower them.
In France, they call Ubisoft the "student grinder" because of their policy.

Does that mean we'll soon get rid of team Erwan?

Who says that it is not possible to develop any hero with might or magic skills? That was possible even in H3, why not in MMH5.5. In TotE, you basically had a magic hero or might hero per faction. Now you have both. IMO, it is just more diverse.

If Erwan keeps his spot, it's because he's friend with the 5 brother bosses.

How could any of the previous Ubi Heroes games add to anyones power is beyond me. If this game will end up good after 2 addons then it will still take untill H9 to get rid of him. lol
I somehow remember a different take on the Nival not getting to make H6. Something about having different visions about the series future including some really "outlandish" ideas. I wonder what those ideas could have been.

I believe it was something along the lines of making it more like a rpg than a tbs.

So basically a new H4? I actually wouldn't have minded that if only they changed the name to something else and also did a classic heroes game alongside it.

Not to the point Nival wanted I believe.

Hence the reason Ubisoft pulled Heroes from Nival.
Honestly I liked H4 and where it was going so I would not have minded an improved one.
