I couldn't agree more, and I empathize with you.  It is an obscene amount of money to spend on the bug-ridden mess we got in the end, and in my opinion Ubi should either be berated in the courts for it, or do what Stardock did with Elemental and Fallen Enchantress, and give everyone who purchased H6 H7 for free.  If a small studio like Stardock can not only save face but come out on top doing this, I see no reason why Ubisoft can't.  To my understanding they could really use some public love too.  In the day and age of the internet an honest, direct, and communal demeanor is not only very important, but also extremely valuable.

Actually, I WANT to pay for the game. It gives the company motive to satisfy older players, and also that could reduce the development's budget. If they make a crappy game with let's say 2million budget, why not a fantastic game with 4million budget? and it will not cost $5 in 4 years...

That's poor reasoning. The fans want a lot, doesn't mean they will get it. Mind you, I consider sim turns of very high priority.

So it's my "poor reasoning" for expecting sim turns rather than their big mouths lying about listening us. Sure, the only reason we won't see sim turns is because we didn't voice our wants about multiplayer. GIVE ME A BREAK!

I'm starting to be unable to distinguish the difference between an insider and an Ubi employee.

I'll just point out that if they listened to *everything* fans want we would end up with unplayable mess of a game

Listening to fans and implementing every single idea are 2 different things - albeit I consider sim turns one of the higher priority ones as well.

I wish we would get better timed news as well. I think revealing a unit every day or two would work better than having several of them revealed at longer intervals.

I am most single-player gamer, so sim turns are no need for me... so Ubisoft, scrap them, as I don't need them. As you said, you're listening to fans and I am fan too, so do it! NOW!

How do you feel now, Stevie?
There are lot of fan opinion/wishes and much of them exclude one another. So please, don't tell me or other players that Ubisoft need listen to you and your wishes only.
I know that sim turns are important for some players and I hope Limbic find a way/time/money to put them in-game, but there are other prioryties to be done first, like release game bug free for example.

I feel that you're debating on the wrong subject, if you were to say the things you did. Sim turns is not a whim of Stevie from HC, is something that is practically a no-brainer in today's TBS game industry.

Simultaneous turns is a no-brainer for a contemporary TBS game. It won't be able to attract any significant multiplayer community without it.

If there's too much on their plate, then simple: move back the release date several months. That's a perfectly respectable decision and it's by far the lesser of two evils from a marketing perspective to delay a game to make it good versus selling it to an audience (many of whom will be first-time Heroes players) and then undergoing extensive patching over the course of several months. By the time you've done that you've had tens of thousands of players disappear.

Well, H6 had it's release date moved, and we know how that turn out. Or rather how it "didn't"

That's the reason why the release date is 2015. If they would finish the game earlier, they will release it in June, but they would have to do some extra work (like infamous town screens) then the release date would be in October. Simple.

Well, H6 was a very special case with Nival working on their H6, then dropping out and Ubisoft having to search for a dev with little time...

Actually I think that Nival's involvement had little impact on Black Hole, at least as far as the release date is concerned.

The thing is what got most the fans peed off was H6 release date being postponed all the time. If they could keep the release date fixed, we can prepare for it no matter how long away the date is...

Nah, at the time the delays were actually welcomed because the beta was pretty bad, bug-wise. What peed off, as you say, the fans is that during those delays, the game didn't get significantly better. Yes, tons of bugs were fixed, but tons weren't and many of the fixes caused new bugs.

- Random Map Generator.
I love being able to run a random map in HOMMV and being able to tailor it's options to whatever I feel like at the time. Adds so much replayability to the game, who wants to play the same maps over and over? Fresh is fun.

Read this .

Thanks for the link, I had a read and there was some pretty strong hinting there at a RMG which is sick. The class system sounds interesting too and may explain some of the stuff I saw in the gameplay demo.

Talking of the gameplay demo has anyone else watched it 10 times like I have to look for little bits of info? My fiance doesn't think it looks as nice as 6, but I'm a fan. Especially the sprawling camera when entering combat. It was very linear but that's to be expected from an initial gameplay demo.

Things I noticed which may or may not have slipped your attention (some are more obvious than others but I still wanted to mention):
- In combat, units appear to have their initiative displayed on the turn display
- Units in a faction are thankfully no longer all the same colour
- Tonnes more cover etc on the battlefield
- Lots of spells!!! Woooo
- Heroes last action displayed on portait
- Heroes gain xp even during a loss
- A lot of hero/map interaction (should be great for campaigns, I might even finish it this time. That's as long as they don't do things like give a badass demon who used to rule over a large portion of sheogh a nickname like Azzie)
- When choosing to enter battle, next to the hero's army was two slots for war machines. Cyrus had an item in one of those slots
- In the spell book, there were 4 tabs on the right; Battle spells,  Map spells, Third tab looks like a blue flame, and the fourth kinda  like a settings symbol. Hmmm......
- There's a lot of room before the walls in the siege battle
- There are units positioned to the left, right, and maybe behind the wizards army. Almost as if they were there in place of range towers

I've done something bad and have gotten my hopes up. Dare I say they've learnt from Heroes 6 mistakes?

(I know some of this has been mentioned before but there's a lot of pages worth of reading to catch up on in this thread)

i want to point out the story of the campaign. i don't like it. i think it should be about factions involed with one an other in real time like in heroes 5 or earlier. this "story-telling" niche is easy for them to design campaigns and all but story wise it leaves you uninterested. ok you get what this factions is about but i wanted to know what this faction is up to, now. and preferably after heroes V, not in between again!

I don't know how far Nival had progressed but starting from scratch must have delayed ubi's plans somewhat.

Not really, no. Though I can't remember the exact dates, Nival's Heroes VI was to be released not long after Tribes of the East. Once the project was cancelled and Ubisoft needed to find a new developer, a new release date was scheduled for the game as well, as according to Black Holes capabilities.

While the vote is going on we're working on the other 4 factions. Simple as that.

So no, it's not fake. Nothing has been produced for Sylvan or Fortress yet.

so there is time for developing the chosen factions? and then the whole game? i got really scared with heroes 6 development being rushed, hence the "time worry". i said it sounds paranoid but i had to wonder
