The problem with complex customization (other than the usual speed/music selection) is synchronization in multiplayer. People will fight over this or that option.

I first played WoG for graphical improvements and general convenience (quick place creatures in tactical phase, heroes meeting screens etc), and then explored gameplay features, liking some and disliking others. You last sentence reminds me of last hotseat I made a year ago, forcing everyone to start with factions set to random, an hour of arguments before starting to play lol.

Well, in WoG, there are really too many options for multiplayer, I mean, some of them, I only tried once and I have no idea how each combination would effect balance and game play, it's impossible to estimate without months of experimenting. A few basic options can be implemented though.

WoG has been, in it hay days of about 10 years ago...
, totally tested by myself, to death and, back again.
These Russian modders were so good, that balance never came to the light as a real game breaker.
I really liked it until version 3.5.8f came out, then, all hell came loose. I might have rendered it unstable enough to unbalance the overall gameplay. Because, the RMG was starting to misplace stuff on small size maps. You had to play Medium or large maps to really fix this overbuffing of options in use.
Anyway, any posts regarding WoG, here, should be transferred to the Wog Forum Thread. This Forum Thread is all about helping clarifying many possibilities through all kinds of wacky ideas coming from the many brilliant member minds of this Forum Site.

The title of this thread is still relevant, even more than ever. Although now there is a whole new level, they also mistreat the fans, by telling them they don't make the game for them.
I see only one solution: TOTAL RIOT.

When I read the original thread post I died in laughter, when I found out it is from a year ago I died in laughter second time ;D.
Currently heroes V ToTe is the total threshold next editions should not fall behind. It has some drawbacks but the creative stuff added are just awesome! I cannot see how going back will make people keen to something less challenging and will make people more intrigued. I mean... come on guys if unless you are complete heroes beginner you already know by heart the steps to abuse and outmaneuver NPCs in the old battle mechanic (note: Heroes 1,2,3,4,6). It seems so plain and easy...
And even if we put that aside, the lore is not outshining with anything (not that I care).
Enjoy my 30 seconds of personal opinion.
Aaannnnndddd back to Magnomagus awesome work!!!

Sure, THERE.
Quote: But you have to understand we're not making a game just for you, the hardcore fan base.
The fallacy here is that mentioned forums are no "hardcore", they are just regular fan forums, with all kinds of fans, even the ones enjoying H6 and Ashan. Sure we have a few specimens like that dude who completed Month 3 a map which average time for completion is more around Month 20, but most people here (myself included) are just fans of homm, like Fred replies a few posts later. Many other great points have been made by on the top of my head Bruckernavn, AcidDragon, FrostyMuadDib, and of course the brilliant post from Verriker reminding everyone what the reality regarding the overall reception of the game actually is.

To be honest, that comment isn't mistreating the fans, but simply making up excuses on why their game is an unfinished mess.
They are both despicable things for developers mind you, but hey, at least he was smart enough to recycle excuses instead of just admitting they have budget problems

You're right, they mistreat the fans by mistreating the franchise already. Still that comment I find infuriating.

on the contrary my friend MagiCollector, Heroes 7 actually received all the investment it needed to succeed according to Team Erwin lol
Ubi-Arnaud said: Please take good note that we do not consider Heroes VII as under budgeted project and never mentioned this idea. Our devs are doing their best to deliver an amazing Heroes experience with quality gameplay and hours and hours of fun thanks to exciting Factions and tools. This is our vision. Even if 3D towns and unique mounts are great features, and we do not deny that, this shouldn't prevent us from doing a good Heroes game in the end. Exciting news and reveals are approaching so keep faith
from the evidence, the fact that it sucks is a matter of incompetence and lack of talent, not money lol

Does it matter? There are two options.
1. Ubi lied about H7 not being low budget.
2. Ubi said the truth. Then they are incompetent.
Either way, it sucks
IMO, the thing about incompetence is true. Proof: H6 & H6 2.0 H7.
