@Nocturnal
Okay, fine by me if we drop it but I havent ignored anything you said, I addressed them one by one, so dont accuse me of that when you are the one who hasnt replied to any of the questions. And mods changing the title is part of what we were objecting to, so I see no point in presenting it as proof of anything.
Edit: I have carried this discussion to the related thread in the OSM but since you say you dont visit there, let me add this article also here, which sums things up quite well.

I changed the word in the title because I disliked it myself, and because kiryu expressed the same opinion, but there's no need to make a huge discussion out of it. I know the original word has come to mean many different things in online talk, but that does not change the fact that the original word describes an extremely unpleasant action and was quite unnecessary to convey the message of this thread, so I didn't see a point in having it plastered in capital letters all over the front page.

I don't like watching 120lb semi-anorexic actresses slaughter a bunch of 250lb male bodybuilders in movies. I mean, female empowerment is nice and all, but, you know, laws of physics and such.
Not that the single action guy beating up 8 guys is realistic either, I suppose, but the absurdity isn't as obvious.

Check the article in the related thread blizz, the politically correct language mania thing is really evidence that even if you put people on paradise, they will invent something to cry over.

I agree with artu on this 100%. Just because one person is uncorfotable with one statement does not mean it should be consored, as it was not directed towards any person in this forums.
Specialy in this case coz the fraze is used wildly throghout the internet.

The official reason is that the old universe didnt have a lore database. The probable reason was that they just wanted to distance themselves from H4
Frankly i dont see the ASOFAI level plot they destroyed, nor how is the H5 and on plot a disgrace, although i can agree that the storyTELLING and the dialogue is generally lame.
I also dont see the WoW/WH comparisons post H5.

I agree. Plot isn't the problem with Ashan. It's the storytelling & dialogue.

This is why I believe the plot should be made by the same people who are doing storytelling & dialogue.

Plot is honestly overrated. You could have the most droll, overused plot in the world and if you have clean, witty, realistic script and good voice acting, it will be good (though not spectacular).
Dr Who has a rich & intricate plot but the combination of the sometimes subpar scriptwriting combined with Dr Who's get-out-of-everything cop out screwdriver soils the integrity of the show. It's not the plot, but the details.

yeah the plot is really tight,
never mind Biara again and again managing to outsmart everybody on the planet with simple shapeshifting, Agrael invading Irollan and beating the king with a skeleton crew of demons, Isabel incredibly failing to understand what necromancy is, Freyda and Duncan's off-screen resurrection, the meaningless Vampire's Garment which does nothing and never appears again, the inexplicable pedophilia subplot, Nicolai attacking the elves for no reason, Tieru's fabulously convenient force ghost, ...
no really, it's true, George R. R. Martin is crying with pride lol

@Galaad so...the typical fantasy white knights? The only thing you might say they copied is the feather helmet thing except it has been done before and even then, Heroes used it for humans and those are elves. The second one is only similar because it has undead and green (whose assosiations with death are older than a game)
@Verriker
-A demon designed to trick people being good at...tricking people? *le gasp*
-I dont remember that part very well so i'll cede that point
-The sheltered girl being naive? *le bigger gasp*
-I dont remember that part well either so i'll cede it too
-Maybe, y'know, Nicolai is wearing it
-Because Evul necromancers. Y'know like H3
-Yes it is conventient.
Assuming you are right and 1 and 2 dont have proper explanations then thats a storyTELLING problem. And frankly 3 might be conventient but its this kind of world. Remember the former Griffin duke ghost in H6.

ha ha, le gasp indeed that the same plot device could be wheeled out three, four times in one game and to then have both entire expansions built around it
every second character is or could be this shapeshifting demon, such unexpected plot twists in this great and compelling story
and even Heroes 6 continued to pull the same cheap ass tricks with Jorgen and Jezebeth
GenyaArikado said: -The sheltered girl being naive? *le bigger gasp*
a necromancer literally walks right up to the queen and asks to lead the empire,
Isabel knows (I hope) this guy is an evil necromancer who raises the dead, and Godric informs her he was banished for corrupting the last queen, so of course instead of throwing him in prison or asking him one or two questions, she immediately agrees to invade an entire nation of wizards and murder their king,
then after being so unexpectedly duped by this conniving criminal necromancer, (though not really even duped,)
instead of trying to murder him, she goes to her room to cry and leaves him to lead the empire and his army of the dead, with her undead husband as the commander
never mind any other humans who might question any of this or intervene, they're not important to the plot, so let's us naive imperial soldiers all follow our dead king who is literally begging to be destroyed and happily invade the elves lol

lmao, when entire campaigns are predicated on the idea that almost every character is an idiot, there is a problem with that plot dude,
you're not gonna somehow be able to salvage this crap by telling it slightly differently
even so, the Heroes 5 plot, if cleaned up and told in a competent way, is basically the Heroes 3 plot lol

Lol, I have always wondered who read those computer game stories and you guys even detect and debate plot holes! I dont know if to respect this as an uber-nerdic achievement or to conclude that life has more dark humor than art ever can.
