In my opinion Disciples II nailed the concept of vampires, as I'm not really a fan of the Nosferatu type of vampire but more of the good ol' Dracula, also, not too fond of the vampiress concept.
The best thing regarding these guys was that when they attacked they pulled out a heart and slashed with their claws, pretty stylish, and at the same time pretty savage.
This is why in my opinion even if the blood monster is looking like a knight it could potentially be still savage with its claws.

To be honest, Disciples II nailed a lot of things, Empire, Mountain Clan, Legion of the Damned, Undead Horde, everything was bloody perfect. In 9 out 10 cases I would choose any Disciples II concept of some unit over their Ashan counterpart, especially Demons(Pit Lord from H6 was really awesome and it can't even come close to how amazing multiple faces, mouths, eyes, limbs, wings Demons from Disciples II were).
Vampires/Elder Vampires, Wights, Wraiths, Death, Ghosts, Liches/Archliches, all of the Wyverns and Undead Dragons(the horrifying Dreadwyrm) and even awesome Werewolves... Skeletons, Skeleton Champions, Zombies and those Phantom Warriors, whole Undead faction was just on another level than anything I've seen from Heroes franchise(my opinion of course).
There are very few things(concepts) that I like more in Heroes games.
I went a bit too far, but yeah, those Vampires and Elder Vampires... the true counts, they were quite perfect indeed... Hopefully the Blood Monster(as it seems that we are getting it) resemblance them more than anything else.

yes, couldn't agree more!! Nevendaar is pretty much Ashan done right, IMO (or rather Ashan is Nevendaar done badly I guess lol)

I tried disciples ... couldn't get into it. It's not game of great quality. Animations feel off and non-responsive, the music is not great. Meh. You're better of playing Endless Legend or even Warlock: Master of the arcane. Erador: Masters of the broken world and Age of Wonders 1, 2 and 3 are all better imo.
Or you know ... if you forgo the fantasy elements you can go for proper strategy game ... EU4 and CK2 are great. Not to mention new HoI that's comming out

The point was, the vampire, albeit looking older, still had armour and a stylish neck-thing, but at the same time was attacking with claws, so it actually had something to do with the art they posted.
Now, if it actually was like the one in Disciples II I would be extremely happy, but something similar could work...
Though now I wish they went with the old man vampire, that looked awesome...
OT: Also, I have very fond memories of Disciples, I remember being scared out of my mind when I was a child when I saw the zombies, that's how you see that you made a good dark game.
That's what we need, Inferno and Necropolis scarring kids for life...

Personally, I loathe the vampire lady. I think it's about the only thing more cliché they could come up with than the vampire-with-oversized-sword we had before. The fact that it's face even looks manga is the final nail in the coffin.

eh, i feel knight and blood-monster looks more manga with their silly poses and spikes and oh my, what a collar. blood monster looks way more cliché to me, i mean he wouldn't look very out of place in One Piece for example.
but whatever, just personal opinion. Night lady feels newer than any of the others so she's got my vote ^^

If that lady vampire thing is the winner, i'll buy the game just to burn it.
The lady whor-vamp is so wrong in my book! I love lady monsters, but vampires ladies are too much twilight and wrongness, vampires should be males just for the sake of it! I'd rather see the lich/mummy as female than the vampire! Vampires from HOMM3 were the very best, never seen a better vampire in my life spare for in the movie Nosferatu!
if you want pretty male monster go jerk on: Incubus, Fossegrim, Encantado, Katsura-Otoko, Kishi & Gancanagh
And Pretty lady monsters are the more than there are stars! Succubus, Gylou (if you like tentacles), Abere, Leanan Sidhe, Nymph, Faerie and what not from mythology? Almost every lady is beautiful in mythology spare for hags, batibat and charybdis lol
If you want a female vampire so badly call them Mananananggal at least, those are female bloodsuckers that pretty much resemble vampires in most forms.
But the vampire in HOMM should stay male at all cost!

armor was not historically very bulky though, justicar isn't far from what heavy armour would've looked like during the middle ages.
i do agree about the h3+h5 vampire though. that'd be sweet. we do however have a golden opportunity to get some female creatures into the series. not many of 'em, especially for necro so why not go for it?
