Thanks for the info - though i'm sceptical that "experienced players" can handle the abandoned mine neutrals in the mod - i've played the whole of heroes I through VI more than once before trying this mod and found it was impossible, or else the casualties so heavy that it really wasn't worth it for 1 more of 1 resource a turn. Just the sheer numbers of troops make it that way.

Town conversion with the town management spell seems to work fine once you have a level 25 hero. Town portal to the nearest town works too.

But Town Gate through the Town management spell does not work in the mod. I have Agrael above level 25 hero in the 3rd mission in the demon lord campaign, have level 5 mage guilds in every town on the map, and he's visited all of them after he was level 25, but it still tells me every time i try to use town management to gate to a town that i have not met those requirements, despite the fact i have.

And conversion of dwellings doesn't seem to work at all in the campaign (maybe you mean it only works on scenarios made for the mod? not sure)

I slightly disagree on the town conversion needing to be more expensive too - in heroes VI it didn't convert to all the equivalent levels of buildings and convert all the troops available for recruitment in it too - it converted it to a town of your faction type, but with no buildings whatsoever and you then had to start building buildings from scratch, which seemed to make sense to me. But that's a minor point. It's great to have any kind of town conversion in Heroes V so thanks again for the mod.

Thanks very much - will look at them - Town management for Town gating still won't work. If you have a level 25 hero who's visited a level 5 mage guild it still tells you you haven't met the requirements to use the spell. Town portal works fine and Town management for town conversion works fine, but town management for Town Gate doesn't work.

If you have GOG bundle, the install folder the installer guides you to is probably wrong, uninstall MMH55, then reinstall and point it to the correct install folder manually.

@Dunadd:

Make sure the garrison you want to teleport into is empty,

I'm currently working on simplifying the requirements, because I'm aware the current system is not clear enough.

It is possible that in campaign missions, dwelling touch triggers are overwritten by the mapmaker.

I had cities with no hero or troops in them towards the end of the mission, after i'd defeated orange and taken all but one green city - the Town Gate through Town management still would not work for any of them - just keeps giving a message that i "do not meet the requirements for this spell" despite the fact my hero did meet them - was over level 25 and had visited all towns once they had level 5 mage guilds.

test this:

Make sure all your heroes are also visible on the map.
Press end turn.

My friends and I reverted back to RC1a because we just couldn't get RC3 to work over LAN.  Is there a place to change the battlesite stack sizes in RC1a?  I don't see a Settings.pak file anywhere.

@HVKnight: No, that was a new feature of RC3, but maybe that was the problem, your settings.pak files were not synchronized?

I see that for LAN play heroes folders need to be synchronized. Is it recommendable to use some software for sync?

@Belasius, no need for such. Stick to this rules and you will be fine.

1. All players install H5 from one source.
2. Dont forget to patch 3.01 and then install the mod.
3. Do not use other mods! even for a one-time tryout. It may add things you will forget to remove. What I usually do is copy my H5 folder to a new place and then make the mess in-there.
4. Generating ARMG maps should be done always by the same person. He should be aware of this issues and check them everytime before game. This way if anytime issue occurs you know who the culprit is!
5. if you edit mod features make sure the change is done only by one player. MAke sure that player redistributes correctly changed files.

H5 lan is like making a party in your house. If you dont clean for the next one it may not go as pleasant as expected.

BTW just to let you know we found a third player for LAN games so soon we will be able to test three-player-lan features .

He has the Town management spell and it works for Conversions but not for Town gate. I only tried with one hero - Agrael in the 3rd mission of the Demon Lord campaign, as he was my only hero of lvl 25 or above. Every town i have had a level 5 mage guild. He had visited every town after reaching lvl 25 and after they had level 5 mage guilds. I also made sure that towns didnt have heroes in them that would block him Town Gating to them, but still got told every time that Agrael supposedly "did not meet the conditions" for the spell.

Haven't tried on other maps yet.

Will post the save file if i can remember or work out how to.

Isn't Combat the one you are looking for? Though it only works if it is the primary skill (as to say, the one in the first slot).

The spell also requires 2000 movement points, but if you have that there could be a script conflict with that campaign map, such an issue cannot occur on RMG or multiplayer maps.

@Mario:

Yes, the skill system is universal and that skill could only work for knights so it had to go. there are plenty others available instead.

BUG: Warlocks cannot get Pariah skill.

I tried multiple times (hex edit experience) with 2 warlock heroes (Shadya and Yrbeth).

Both couldnt get Pariah perk even though they met the requirements.

I tried with Assasin (Lethos) and it works.

I think the whole warlock is affected.

MAJOR UPDATE V5.53 released!!!

Download MMH55

Uninstall RC3, before installing RC4!

NEW FEATURES:

-Added new optional Governance feature, allows secondary heroes to gain experience and skills by governing towns.See Details

-Improved User Customization, Town Gate, Town Conversion and Governance can be switched on/off independantly and the
player can change the amount of allowed town and dwelling conversions.
How to do this?

-Improved Town Management ability and added detailed hero info screen + info to verify the chosen settings.



-Simplified Town Gate requirements because it was counter-intuitive that you already had the Town Management ability but still had to walk back to a town to be able to use it. Now it works very simple and balanced: You have to build up a network of Lvl 5 mage guilds, as you can only teleport to towns that have one. This means you will need more resources to build up all the guilds, but on the plus side you can even teleport lvl1 heroes.

-Supply Contract Feature, weekly resource buildings can be 'flagged' and no longer need to be visited every week, the system works slightly different from mines however because of modding limitations, the color and text will change to the owner, see screenshot:





-War Machine factories can supply a little bit of wood with this feature, because the uselessness of this building caused a balance issue with RMG maps.

-Improved Advanced RMG Starting Zone composition, special resource mines are not always so close to the town. (applies to maps generated with V1.31).

-Improved recruitment perk, now also boosts the effectiveness of legion regalia artifacts.
-Changed Mentoring: now teaches 10% + gives 2 knowledge. (The old setting overshadowed the new governance feature too much and became overpowered too soon, in very late game you can still abuse this function a lot however, that is unavoidable)

-Fixed Important issue: Some new feature were not working when a hero was garrisoned inside a town (turned out this issue was only 50% fixed in RC3, now it is 100% fixed)
-Fixed Pariah not available for Warlocks

I think it must have been the map, because on the third necromancer campaign map Town Gate with Town Management works fine
