I for one didn't find H7 to be entire horrible, nor did I find H6 to be so. Not that I'm saying they wasn't flawed (they was... a lot)
Long story short, Ubi ****ed up.

Can't say anything about gameplay (though I certainly don't doubt you) Graphically, not so much. Not that it is much of an achievement everything considered.

That's why I didn't quote the part about personal taste. Gameplay is what I'm interested about and H6 & 7 are just a sorry-ass piece of crap compared to Heroes IV (or to H5, btw), in that regard.

H4 didn't capture my interest for long but it had solid gameplay, good presentation/visibility and good atmosphere. My main dislikes were the choppy animation, lack of combat grid, simultaneous retaliation and daily growth. And the last two actually made sense within the game framework.

We could, but without realizing what's the root of the problem - streamlining everything and trying to advertise the series to kiddies who developers expect to be... kinda dumb, on top of that. It's a huge problem negatively effecting other series as well, like Elder Scrolls.
Without realizing that, we won't be able to make a decent analysis of what went wrong. I realize this is not a politics thread, but we need to bring down this establishment which is replacing our individual gaming communities culture's with Generic McFantasy.

You know H7 is the best one in my opinion 
Or the one I like the most, call it in the way you like.
Unfortunately the least finished one too.

Heroes 7 was certainly the most dissapointing to me.
But 4 was even more horrible gameplay wise imo, i guess it's a matter of taste (here come the haters!)

Yes they fixed them. They look much better now (and also better than the ones from H1-5). But again, I agree it's the matter of taste as well as gameplay and almost everything else.

I enjoyed H7 more than H6 which takes the title for me.... but that is it. Still very disappointing in the end.

H4 was much more disappointing than H7 -at least for me, because it was same team who designed H3 so I was expecting wonders. On the other side, H7 team is almost same as for H6, so is not disappointing at all.
