actually...
what lith just said is a complete guess... no one at 3do has said anything about it...
though it is possible that he is right... it is also equally possible that the two L1's for necro are imp and skeleton.

Actually I am pretty sure wyverns are different from drakes in this myth but i forgot what it said...

I wouldn't call it equally. The graveyard has always been the zombie dwelling. And with only four levels of creatures in the towns it would be stupid also to buy skeletons in the town besides necromancy. The zombie guess makes very much (and more) sence.

Necropolis..
I agree with Preserver, the Zombie's position has been now more or less confirmed, and i think it is a pretty good spot for it. Although I would have liked to see the skeleton resume its original spot next to the Zombie and replace the revamped imp.
Another thing that seems likely in the Necropolis is that the Mummy will take a spot next to the Venom Spawn which is a confirmed shooter. This means a Vampire has been ruled out, and is most likely a neutral. It is too good a creature to be in level 2, which has been confirmed anyway.
A Lich was a possibility for both level 2 and 3, but is now proably a hero instead of a creature.

Are you serious? Vampire neutrals? Is 3do nuts?
Why don't they just throw that bloody cactus called "venomous spawn" (Ha!) away and bring back the vampire? That's insane! It's getting worse every day...Tomorrow they'll switch the zombie with a damn locust or fish...

Yes, i know that they are different, i was just pointing out that, by his definitions, a wyvern could be a drake.

new creatures
I didn't read all the thread, bu I haven't seen anyone talking about goblins, and I find goblins are missing in HOMM4 and they should be back. I am a little disappointed by the new creatures in general. I also would like to see griffins, but not in the castle, I would like to see dendroid soldiers, giants and gargoyles which are real creatures of the heroic fantasy myth. I also don't like mantis, waspworts and venom spawns.

Goblins: no one has seen them. They may have been removed.
Griffins: Confirmed as part of the Preserve line-up.
Dendroids: The closest you get is likely the Waspworts, which you didn't like.
Giants: Titans are in the Academy lineup.
Gargoyle: Could be a neutral unit. It's debatable if the black winged creature on one of the battle pics is a 'black' imp or a gargoyle.

The waspworth is such a mistery for me that I even forgot to mention it in my complains: is that a flower or my sight is blurred? Anybody imagine how it works? Maybe the smell could kill the enemy?

About waspworts...
It is confirmed that they're a level 3 shooter (toxic needles). They will be summonable through nature magic.
But I can't really imagine H4 without dendroids/treefolk. I hope it's one of the 'surprises', maybe summoned or enchanted battlefield trees?

The titans, mages and dragons are also essential.
The waspwort and the dragon golem can travel to where the pepper grows (native expression)

For me titans don't totally replace giants,it is maybe just a personnal opinion. I also think that only goblins can replace goblins.

Aaaaaa, that's something else....if they had kept all the creatures and then added some crazy ones, I would have kept my mouth shut.But replacing good ones with "waspworth" ones is extremely unapropriate.
