Can i ask for a modding quesitons HOMM5.5?

1) can i change which spells magic guild gives?
for example can i change necropolis magic guild lv 1 to give me 2 first tier dark magic spells and 2 first tier summoning magic spells

2) can i modify town buildings / dwelling buildings creature growth or is it monster specific?
i found growth in the creature files but not in the building files.

Also i have question about maps
Can i find and download maps for HOMM5.5?

My first post on the forum great game and a great mod

If you make the hero NO_TOWN_TYPE the hero moral point will be removed for sure.

Besides moral I am not really sure what else it affects. Try changing some hero to other faction, then check if it will appear in faction hero selection in game lobby.

What you can do is change the native magic schools for each faction and the tier of the spells so they are given on different levels.
What cannot be changed is how many spells you get per tier. I believe this is hardcodded or at least I have not seen anyone do it.

Creature growth can be change in the creature .xdb file. This value is also used for map buildings/dwellings.

You can check Olorin's map. I believe there was one more but I don't remember who did it or where was it. You can always use the ARMG templates to switch the map details. For example Belt maps demand very different skills and perks than others.
You can follow this guide on how to do it.

Unfortunately there are not many mapmakers because it is a time consuming job .

I have checked. TownType affect to select hero in start mission. If I set TownType=TOWN_NO_TYPE game craches in select game parametrs stage. If I set TownType=NO_TOWN_TYPE (this type doesn't exists in game) game doesn't crash but hero isn't available. If I set TownType as any other existed town hero starts to belong this fraction.

3. modding tutorials

You can also ask this question on this forum thread - HeroesWorld NCF. The people there create and edit creatures so they are very knowledgeable in that area.

There was one tool called Archangel that was used for editing models (i think) but I cannot find the link.

Is there way to add abilities for war machines? There are no such files in GameMechanics\Creature\Creatures. The most close I've found is GameMechanics\RefTables\WarMachines.xdb, but there is different structure of content and appending this tag gave no results:

I too have spent a lot of time looking for a way to add abilities to wm. No such luck, probably hardcoded.

I just had a thought, is there some way to make heroes learn lvl 3-5 magic like the lower tiers? For free, without magic skills or abilities like wisdom.

It is possible by using scripted triggers. But I am not sure if they are visible if you dont have the appropriate skill.

So it might be like learning t5 spells from a utopia without the skill? I basically want to simulate the effect of wisdom but without restriction to tiers. To visit an arcane library and be able to learn the contained spells. I can use an adv. map location to teach random high tier spells but they will be invisible and inaccessible without the appropriate mastery. I also don't think it's possible to tweak wisdom skill and even with the enlightenment tome it won't go above lvl4.

I forgot that Tomes increase Wisdom power with one more level.

May be if the value for that entity is found in the EXE it can be edited for the perk!

Also to give you a better perspective - Giving spells to a hero via LUA scripts works exactly as if you have used a cheat command.

the script command doesn't care about the skills a hero has, the spell will always be given, even mass spells, but will cast at level none. for randomization you have to create a table and then let the script pick a spell randomly from the table.
