Woot! Caught my Inkay! Once Braixen evolves I will have a full team of six Psychic types!

Edit:

Braixen evolved just before I beat down Grant with my Gardevoir. My current team so far is:

Gardevoir
Delphox
Meditite
Lunatone
Meowstic
Inkay

My mistake, I meant to say Pokémon Y, as the video shown is a pokémon Y version, while I myself have pokémon X, have been in Luminose city several times and saved and quit there and have yet to get that bug.

My team so far:

Greninja
Charizard
Talonflame (I'll probably gonna exchange it for Noivern someday)
Tyrantrum (ma favourite!)
Gogoat (possible to change, but Grass type is useful)
Lucario (this one's gonna be the first to change, though I like his Mega evolution)

I also have a lvl 40 Blaziken, but 3 Fire types/3 Fighting types are a bit too much...

Some of you may say my line-up is lame, but I go for the looks (though my Pokemon are powerful)

Point. Taken.

And it is written Nuzlocke!

Ahh, right, so that is what it is. Heh.
Did something similar once, a so-called "Team Rocket" Nuzlocke run on Emerald. Everyone died at Watson.
EVERYONE!(Since Nuzlocke rules only let me catch 1 per route/cave/forest/area whatever) I did not have any proper ground type other than Nincada.

Can't say anything about your line up as I don't know what half of those pokémon(Talonflame, Greninja and Tyrantrum) are.

Pretty much this yeah. I wanted a little more challenge this time around, and since Fennekin obliged me by having the final evolution be part Psychic, the opportunity was too good to pass up.

She's bizarre, alright. So is the entire gym she runs. I just hope we can all sleep well.

As for me, if I ABSOLUTELY have to save in Lumiose city, I'm heading straight for the tower.

Ha ha, caught Yveltal (another great theme btw) with Quick Ball (by far the best Pokeball in the series Master Ball, get outta here ). Petting a legendary in Poke-Amie -> priceless

In other news (without spoiling too much), fighting Team Flare's boss was one of the most epic battles I fought in the series. And the games graphics really stand out, even if it's 3DS we're talking about...

I've slowed a bit with training my Pokemon (no Exp. share for me) so their levels are not that much higher from rivals now. The game started to be a bit more challenging. A rivals Malamar (you'll meet it eventually) with Superpower move (rises ATK and DEF with each consecutive hit) trashed half of my team, sth which hadn't happened to me in quite a while

After catching Yvy I have a bit of a headache with my team now, there's too many Flying types, but I don't wanna resign from any of them

Got my third Badge last night and got my Mega Evolution Ring. My team is mostly around level 40 except for Inkay trailing behind at level 35, and Meditite evolved prior to the battle for the Rumble Badge but my lineup is otherwise unchanged. I got a bunch more Psychic types I can play with after having gone through Reflecting Cave, but no plans to swap anything out yet. I also participated in my first Sky Battle and won handily thanks to my only Sky Battle worthy Pokemon being my Lunatone. XD

I like how they have managed to rid the pokémon of the "boss rush" feel that they had in the earlier gens where it was "Gym fight, gym fight, gym fight, gym fight, etc."

Now it's more. "Walking, walking, exploring, gym fight, flare fight, exploring, gym fight, gym fight, flare fight."

Final Gym was cool design-wise, but a letdown in terms of difficulty. I remember first generations 8th Gym Leaders to be quite hard, something of a prelude for Pokemon League. Unfortunately Black 2, and now Y's final Leaders were pushovers... Nevermind, onto PL, hope it will be challenging enough to leave a good impression, as so far Y proved to be a bit more challenging then Black 2 (at least for me).

eh. Marlon (and Drayden - Drayden was shockingly easy too. I OHKO'ed his haxorus with .... A ZOROARK ) was easy but his gym is perhaps the most GORGEOUS one i have seen so far.

I also love how he was like "so i lost. k ::shrug::" and then just jumped in the water and swam off <3

in terms of challenge, idk. I found most gen1 gyms really easy (Brock, Surge, Erika, Blaine and Giovanni are ALL very easy because they specialize in types that are very easy to counter). Koga and Sabrina are the only really challenging ones imo. Misty is not too hard if you have Venusaur, Wartortle, Oddish or a Golbat with bite, but her Starmie nevertheless is capable of OHKO'ing most of your team, so she is average too me.

Gen 2 is much harder imo. Falkner is easy enough, but once you get to Bugsy you're horrendously underleveled. This continues with Whitney (whom i manage to defeat in one try but ONLY because i poisoned her miltank and then kept stalling her - a process during which i lost all my pokémon except my starter). By the time you get to Morty... ::gulp::. I tried Soul Silver and never made it past him because i was way too underleveled, lol. and Grinding is literally a HELL in that game -__-

Every single leader in gen 3 is challenging on their own accord, but they all have an achilles heel you can exploit (you can catch Shroomish  or Lotad before Roxanne, Sableye or Taillow before Brawly, you can get the Dig TM before Wattson, obtain Numel or Barboach before you tackle Flannery, trade a Pikachu before you get to Winona, etc)

Gen 4? Eh. Polarizing. Roark can be hard (heh) if you didn't pick Turwig and are underleveled, but Gardenia is ridiculously easy. You can solo her gym with Kricketune. Fantina/Volkner are difficult, Crasher Wake/Byron acceptable, Maylene/Candice are easy imo.

Gen 5 is different, I guess. The Triplets are easy because of that STUPID UGLY MONKEY YOU GET FOR FREE (ugh ugh ugh how stupid). Even without it, the LILLIPUPS are the most dangerous things located in Striathon gym. Cheren is also easy. Lenora is REALLY difficult though, even with a Timburr or Throh/Sawk on your team. Roxie can be challenging because you can't rly access a ground or psychic type before the gym, so you are forced to either use other poison types or magnemite against her. Burgh is relatively easy. You can get Darumaka before the gym or Tranquil if you caught a Pidove. Boldore and Drilbur also help against Burgh. Elesa's gym is gorgeous, but her battle is more annoying that challenging. Pick up a Drilbur of Trapinch, and you're done with those pesky emolgae. A Liepard with pursuit can also kill them easy. Clay is really easy if you picked Snivy or Oshawott, but in White 2 i unfortunately picked Tepig and OH MY GOD WHAT WAS HE DIFFICULT TO BEAT. Excadrill is a wonderful pokémon but an absolute NIGHTMARE to face. I found Skyla really easy both times. First time i sweeped her gym with Excadrill, the second time with Magnezone. Prycen isn't too challenging either, given the HUGE amount of weaknesses Ice has. In White, Iris is fairly annoying, but i also did not have an Ice attack OR a dragon type on my team, so that is to be expected. In White 2 i found Drayden easy (bringing it up again cuz lol: i OHKO'd his Haxorus with... a ZOROARK and one that was 5 levels below Haxorus ). Marlon is one of my favourite gym leaders so far in terms of design and gym, but yeah, he wasn't challenging. Magnezone and Leavanny mopped the floor with him.

HOWEVER, while Gen 5 is probably the easiest gen in terms of gyms, i would have to say it's the MOST difficult one in terms of endgame boss fights. N is challenging yet feasable but GHETSIS. F***ING GHETSIS. Oh  god. That Hydreigon is the stuff my nightmares are made of. You have no idea how many tries it took me to finally tackle that thing. Oh god. Total, total, total NIGHTMARE. to the point i'd never do gen5 again without having a fast pokémon with a strong dragon, fighting or ice (or bug, but let's be rull here) type move on my team. It's not like the rest of Ghetsis's team are pushovers either.

ick.

So yeah, i am KIND of glad the game is easy in gen6 just so you don't have to spend hours GRINDING. (worst. pasttime. ever. EVER!!!). The XP share is definitely broken but eh, it's not like anyone FORCES you to use it. ::shrug:: Not that i've played it or will play it soon (i'm waiting for a rom or the prices to drop, whichever comes first), but still.

I'm digging how all the gyms are more unique in style, even if some are a little strange, to say the least. I've just done the seventh gym and thought it equalled the doll house for pure weirdness.

I've also got Yveltal, and I've got a few practice sky battles down as its warm-up. I had to catch up on them because my best Pokemon that flew was only in the 30s, level-wise.

I've heard you can challenge Gym Leaders post-game in the Battle Château, and they have better and higher level line-ups. I really hope they will be a bigger challange. From what I've read post-game is interesting (two high-level dungeons, additional city with stronger trainers), so I'm looking forward to it. And XY are not bad in terms of difficulty (there were a couple of troublesome battles, Team Flare Leader being one of the hardest imo, because of a single "little" Pokemon ). The worst thing is that they give to little Pokemon to your rivals. If Gym Leaders had at least 4 dual type Pokemon, the battles would be a lot more interesting. Usually, even if you don't have a counter, you win with sheer numbers (six vs three at most)...

In case you forgot I was Nuzlocking.

R.I.P. Maria the Houndoom, Level 21-54

I'll see ya in hell, brave warrior!

They say pride precedes the fall, and after having pretty much owned everything that was with my pokémon being level50+ and everyone else being 30-40 I really started to get bored with the game. So much that I did not play it at all this weekend, and when I started up again yesterday, I was more like "God, this is tedious." rather than "God, I love this game so much."
So going through Ice-cave yesterday, I one-shotted all random encounters with Maria and used Poppins(my Chimeco) for most of the trainers(who were black belts and battle girls). But since Maria was in the start of my party, she would always be sent out first, and this is were my lack of knowledge about later gens is starting to really shine.

Coming up to the very last black belt in the whole cavern, I was sick of how long it took me to finish a trainer fight since it always went like:
-Start fight
-Send out Maria
-Recall Maria and send out Poppins, let her take a hit.
-OHKO with Poppins.

And now, the last black belt sent out a Gurdurr, a pokémon which I knew was a fighting-type, but which(wrongly) assumed also was steel-type(as I said, my lack of knowledge of later gens is really shining now). So I figure that I could shorten the battle to one round by OHKOing the Gurdurr with a flamethrower.
The result? I ALMOST OHKOed it with a flamethrower, then proceeded to get OHKOed by a Gurdurr's super effective, critical hit fighting move.
Woohoo!

So, yeah, the pokémon I had destignated to take on the last two gyms just died yesterday, right before I ran into team flare. And I have no true replacement ready to pick up the pieces. Depating taking out my Whismur and grind him up to Explode, or if I should take my Ground/Dark type crocodile thingie.

But on the bright side: Maybe bringing in a new, weaker pokémon will bring back some of the excitement again.
