Well, I'm positively surprised. Post 8th Gym trainers have quite strong Pokemon. Although I did slow the grinding process, I didn't think their levels will match mine. There is a test-fight on the beginning of Victory Road, and the guy there did give me a challenge (especially his Raichu - speedy and with a hard-hitting Thunderbolt move). Things are starting to get interesting, it already seems that Elite Four will have higher PKMN lvl's then their White/Black 2 counterparts (even counting the Challenge Mode). We'll see, today I'll probably see what they are capable of...

^Okay, gonna avoid reading anything new on this thread whenever blob2 posts for the time being. Don't want to get anything concerning the Elite Four/Champion spoiled for me!

Well B-E-T-A, I always try to avoid spoilers. I don't give out types (or rather Gym Leader or EF specialties), names nor levels. I only give away some PKMN, but that is not that big of a spoiler (it can't hint trainers specialties, or Gym Leaders/Elite Four elements, but as we all know nowadays they have mixed line-ups).

I won't give away anything concerning EF though, I'll only say If I was satisfied with the challenge or not . And though I'm still trying to figure out what will be their elements, I'm practically sure (by deduction) who will be the Champion and that he/she will probably have a mixed line-up (like in previous entries).

EDIT: Elite Four was awesome! Maybe it would've been easier if I had different Pokemon, but at least I've been thoroughly entertained. Two of the four gave me a serious battle (BTW, I won't spoil it for now, but I can only say that I guessed 3 of the 4 types of the EF), and the Champion was a true Champion, I've won the battle only by a Torchic's nail  This is what I call an even fight. This conclusion of the game (and quite a nice ending I must say) has only strengthened my opinion that XY is one of the best (if not the best) entry in the series history. I'll wait for you to complete the game guys, so we can share our opinions

Whelp that was fast!

R.I.P. Cadette the sandile, Level 17-20

The times, they are a changing.

So appearently Delibirds don't run away like they did in Generation 2. Instead they give you presents.
Going into route...17, is it? Anyway, snowy path where you ride Mamoswines, I forgot that I was doing a nuzlocke run and that the first pokémon I would met would be capture-worthy, and thus I set Cadette first in my line-up.
Then I got the first random encounter, which was a delibird(I've since dubbed him Nicholas) and then the nuzlocke rules dawned upon me. Now suddenly I got a flashback to one year ago when I did my first nuzlocke in Silver, and got to Ice Cavern, where I also med a delibird. And the memory of that delibirds smug face as it ran away from me has haunted my nightmares forever since. IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU THAT I LOST TO LANCE DAMNIT! YOU WERE THE ONLY ICE-TYPE I COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN THAT GAME!
Sorry about that.
Anyway, remembering that delibirds boldely flees to where no man has ever fled before, I decided not to risk letting it get away and threw a quick ball at it without switching out Cadette first. Imagine my surprise when Delibird, not only broke free, but also bombarded me with christmas presents.
*Sigh*
Ludvig the Whismur, welcome aboard...

@blob2, well that is good news.

The slashed text part is my own theory about the elite four typing. Unfortunately this forum lacks spoiler text.

My personal theory on which types the Elite Four will be:
-Fire(who I guess is the cook I heard about).
-Dark
-Steel
-Dragon

EDIT:
Just got to Anistar City...that memory girl. Telling me about the memories of my dead teammates. Manly tears were shed.

new Platinum team

For the first time ever in Platinum i'm actually HORRIBLY underleveled (like... my rival has level 34 pokémon and mine are about... level 28 lol :X) so i'll have to do some grinding, but i believe that team + a mamoswine can own anything in its path. Especially the Elite Four.

Of course, a lot of gamers say that the EF and Champ was too easy etc. The important thing is that I had fun battling them, it was a satisfying experience. I purposely switched off the EXP. Share (don't understand the moaning, want a harder game, turn it off) after the third Gym, and I sticked to my Poke's practically through the entire game, and I know that my line-up lacked some "game-changing" types like Fairy or Electric. It's interesting how each player has a different experience with the game based on which PKMN he had (like I said, devs should think about this one-hit KO'ing with super effective moves )

PS: Another two great themes: Elite Four battle and Champion battle themes .

Having just completed the Pokemon League today, I thought the difficulty of each battle to vary for me, at least according to the 6 Pokemon I carry with me.

Nice. First I've got Conkeldurr via trade from one guy, and later another guy traded my lvl 58 Gurdurr for a lvl 58 Haunter -> Gengar, and as such I obtained two Pokemon which are not possible to get via normal game.

Don't try Wonder Trade though. It seems most players are crafty, and give some snowty Pokemon in return. I've got a lvl 3 Weedle and lvl 4 Pidgey for two lvl 50 Ursarings (not that they were hard to get with Repeat Balls ;P).

Anyone want to trade Aron with Tyranitarite for a Larvitar with Aggronite?

Perhaps you should get a Trapinch or a Dugtrio with Arena Trap and go hunting for the damned critter.
With Sandtrap, it can't escape.

Never mind, Flyings are appear to be immune to that kind of carry-on.

If this is about X and Y then I read that you are supposed to find the bird like 10 times and then it appears at a specific location. I do not actually own the game but me and my brother ordered (2x3DS-XL)+X+Y yesterday so I am looking forward to see how far the game has evolved since Leaf Green. Ordered the new Fire Emblem game as well.

I didn't try to hunt Moltres (my starter was Froakie), I wonder if it's hard, because so far catching various legendaries was quite easy. I caught Zygarde dmg + Dusk Ball, Mewto Thunder Wave + dmg + Premier Ball(!). Maybe I'll use my Master Ball, what do you guys think?

PS: I changed my opinion of Wonder Trade. I got Fennekin, Growlithe and Tyrunt for some trashy Pokemon ...

I wasted a fair few ultra balls just trying to get Zygarde. Still gotta chase Articuno and get Mewtwo.

I've read somewhere that they've raised the catch rate of special balls like Dusk Balls (3,5 x multiplayer in caves) or Timer Balls (max 4x). It's a bit easier to catch Poke's with them. Actually, catching Pokemon is a lot easier then I remember, you don't even have to use status effects. Maybe it's because they introduced Poke Bank and improved trading, so it's easier to get your hands on various PKMN overall. Or they wanted the game to be less irritating to casual or younger players...

BTW, maybe I'm missing sth, but is there a way to communicate, while trading, that you definitely don't want a Pokemon that the other player is stubbornly showcasing you? If the other player is quick-witted, it's easier to make a compromise (like one guy who helped me evolve Scyther or Kadabra by taking and then returning them to me), but sometimes an option to communicate would be really useful... One way is to show that you have ("if" of course) such a Pokemon in your Box, but otherwise it's hard.

@blob2, Well, there is the chat option added for ease. Problem is there are too many problems with chat.

1) You may only chat with friends.
2) You may only chat when not doing other activities(so You got to chat and plan BEFORE you go onto the trade menu)
3) When chatting the game sound is still on, so sometimes you will have problem hearing the other guy/gal's voice and that I hate.

They really should think about adding simple quote's like Yes, Not interested, Show previous etc.

On the other hand, I just discovered GTS. You can check it (there is a simple search engine) for any Pokemon that you want and trade for sth that other player wants. Although some people are probably trolling (Yveltal for a lvl 1 Houndour?), you can find some interesting deals without this whole hit'n'miss Box Trading.
