First time when I patch the game to 1.3.1 my map editor got corrupted somehow. Fresh install and update will likely fix your issue. It might be .NET issue, too. I think that's what the launcher is built on, but not sure.

I wonder if it will be possible to make force melee attack for ranged troops. I know it was not listed, but it could come very handy.

I have only one problem that still remains after the last patch. After reading through all the issues mentioned on the forum, it seems no one has listed the issue. Furthermore, I suspect it could be because of the HD Mod. Still here it is:
Some fights, in swamp terrains mostly, my frame rate drops dramatically. I have a pretty modern machine (i7 processor, GF 555, 8 gig RAM, etc...) and I find that really strange. I think the animated lakes are a culprit, but having in mind that noone has mentioned it as an issue... I wonder what im doing wrong.
Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I sometimes would encounter this after interrupting the game via Alt+Tab. Usually it disappears after a few turns or after restarting the game. In my experience it isn't specific to HotA, it could happen to vanilla H3 as well.

I've also experience some sluggishness in battle. I don't remember the terrain it was on, tho. The experience was that the mouse pointer felt odd and there was a delay when using 'ctrl' over a unit to see his movement. I don't remember if I had alt-tapped before it happened. I also don't remember having experienced this issue before HotA came out. It doesn't have to be a frame-rate issue, but it could be.
However, I haven't experience this sluggishness since the initial release of HotA and the respective HD mod versions at that time period.
Have you updated HotA and HD mod to the latest versions?

Yeah, I have this problem since 1.3 originally came out, and I always update the HD mod to the final. I tried a clean isntall and using an older version of the HD mod that I keep arhived on my PC, but the game wouldn't start with it. It seems to be mission something - the latest HOTA is probably made to be compatible with the later HD versions...don't know here. Anyway, so I'm stuck with the latest version of the HD mod and can't say for sure.
I don't recall alt-tabing also. I will try it tonite. The sluggisness is felt in the animations of both the combatants and also the effect/spell animations. It's not always present.

BUG HotA 1.3.2 (on GOG.com HoMM III with their patch)
Sometimes during battle dead bodies (I experienced this with the Phoenix ashes) cover the unit number label of some other creature.
If you click on QUIT in the menu, three bright blue pixels appear.
In this hero's portrait there are unnecessary brown pixels.
The frigate's mast is not visible on the rough terrain.
I HOPE guys THAT YOU ACTUALLY CAREFULLY READ ALL OUR BUG REPORTS and ideas. I don't expect you to reply to ANY of our posts, but I treat this reporting bugs thing seriously, and it'd be nice to know somebody reads them. I'm rising this matter because you haven't fixed (maybe you just didn't have time, if that's so I'm sorry) this REALLY VERY SMALL BUG in 1.3.2--Russian leftovers on the menu screen.
BUG
IDEAS
Maybe it'd nice to improve the portrait background of some creatures. For instance here, the Inferno castle looks as if it has been just pasted from another picture.
When Cyclops die, their animation looks really "flat" especially in the final stage.
Any ideas for balancing powerful world map spells such as Dimension Door, Fly, or Town Portal? They would be powerful enough even with some restrictions.
What do you think about not allowing to wear two or more artifacts of the same kind (or which are exactly the same)? I don't say this should pertain to all the artifacts, but for example to strange combinations such as two masks or artifacts of which effects do not sum.

A very tiny detail, but there's some pixel 'noise' in some parts of the original interface (white/grayish pixels bottom line example). It's the same under the different resources.
Very hard to see and doesn't really matter (edit: 'much'), but reported.
Edit: I should have said 'very tiny detail that is noticeable but only if you look really closely.' The white underline is somewhat noticeable pixelated on a closer look to me in full screen.

I think even the smallest things matter. Just remember that some of this 'noise' can actually be effects such as dithering or anti-aliasing.

I have two minor suggestions.
First, it could be nice to be able to place Reefs (water obstacles) on non-water terrain. It is possible to do this in original map editor. I just like combining reefs with swamp terrain .
Second, holes that appear from digging block the ships from landing. This is a bug from original game and it should be fixed.
As I said, these things are minor and they are definitely not critical.
Again, thank you HotA team, for this great work you've done .

You could change this yourself in the 'objects.txt' with the Object Editor or a proper text editor, maybe not the way you want it, just saying.

Bug or feature? I think it's really cool, but maybe too abusable. I'd be sad to see it 'fixed', but I dunno.

I like polish, too, but while not game breaking they do matter, agreed. Well, I could take a look at the original picture of the interface to be sure, but I do believe it's in the picture information. Probably happened after they convented the original interface picture parts to save space or something like that.

I've just finished XL map for 8 players ("When Seas Were Deeper") after few - long - hours without a single crash or bug. So 1.3.2 is a big improvement for me in terms of stability. Good job HOTA team.

Thank you, I didn't know this.

I had a big dilemma about that one, but in the end I decided it is a bug because, as you mentioned, it can be abused a lot .
Thanks again for object.txt tip.

They actually have this fixed one, I think. Well, at least my version of 1.3.2 doesn't have this mistake anymore. They haven't fixed the visual bug with the 'Ring of Suppression' that I reported, but maybe they just haven't gotten around to do it yet, or maybe they did in fact miss it.
I do agree that it's nice to know that somebody looked at your report and said 'noted'; it doesn't have to be more words than that. Maybe it's too much to reply to every post, though. I dunno. But I'd be nice.

I have just completely reinstalled HotA (using this link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/s7q7wb) and HoMM III, but I still get these Cyrillic letters on the Credits screen.
Yup, they could also look at this ring.
Maybe in the future they will add bug reporting to HotA. For now, these simple words could be a good idea, hippox. It would be nice if they asked us to retest a given bug in the latest version when needed.
