hippox89 said: If you just want to play pure SoD with additional bug fixes than just install HD mod on top of either a clean SoD 3.2 or Complete 4.0 installation, simply point the installer to the main directory (same with HotA). It's up to you if you want to use HD+. HD+ also replaces sulfer with gems in Naga banks which was a gameplay bug, and therefore it goes under 'HD+'. HotA is a 'take all or nothing' buffet, so you wont get any exclusive bug fixes from HotA with only HD mod on. You probably to take any additional HD mod related stuff to this thread.
Thread: HD mod. Play in high resolutions.

Thank you hippox89, you seem like a good and helpfull guy around here.
Well I don't agree with EVERYTHING they have done in HotA, but that would also be impossible unless I had made HotA myself, which would also be impossible. So Maybe I should just try HotA and HD+ (I don't care about the chesstimer, but I think the Naga Bank is a good change, as I remember almost always getting sulfur from those banks, not just the Naga Bank, but Medusa and others too.)

For a good reason... Nik said himself he won't read it? It was stated in this thread

Nah, I'd understand he won't read the other thread, 'coz he's tired of this stuff and the team got enough plans. But maybe I'm wrong on this.

He doesn't take suggestion at all, but at least if they get stuck in a separate thread they're not bunging up this thread.

Well what is the point of posting suggestions anywhere, if they are considered nothing but trash anyway? Then people just waste their time and hope for something in vain. The team just need to make it clear that they don't take suggestions, like posting "We don't take suggestions for gameplaychanges" (In big letters)

But what's the point of giving suggestions without downloading or playing HoTA yet, as you clearly stated in a previous post yesterday? Is because such behaviors that the team doesn't bother anymore to read, probably.

Some of us actually take time to read all the suggestions. As for myself - if I notice the word "balance" in the post then I automatically skip reading it. Same goes for all the posts proposing absurd for classical expansion gameplay features. Other stuff has a chance to be implemented but is the minority of all genius ideas.

Correct, I have'nt downloaded HotA yet, I have read the entire changelog though and it fixes some of my corcerns, but not all. I don't need to play it, I can read exactly what was changed. Maybe I will download HotA, I probably will, but it will also require some work for me, to make HotA compatible with my scenario.
Yesterday I downloaded the HD-patch and played a little and so far I am really happy about it, not a single thing to complain about. (Yet)

Why would you complain about it, it doesn't change the gameplay.

Well it could have introduced other bugs, make some things not work or make my computer catch a virus or what do I know, but so far so good. I am always sceptical about stuff like that...

So I downloaded HotA today and completed the first two maps of the Jolly Roger Campaign. I completed the second map, with only 2 or 3 days left, those maps we're a bit harder than I imagined them to be, but I did it. Have only seen the first 4 units of Cove, but so far I like them very much. The Nymphs are a bit like the pixies/sprites, pirates are cool and the stormbirds/ayssids are like a hybrid pegasi/crusader.
Only things I don't like so far are the new orcs/orc chieftains, don't like the green pigdesign and not sure I like the sound they make when attacked either. Is there any way to get the old orcs back? Have'nt seen the new pikemen/halbardiers yet, so can't comment on them.
The text in the campaigns aren't perfect either, but that is a very minor complain. Also the troglodytes seems a bit "faded" when you see them in the battle result after a battle. Finally I think it's a bit redundant with the level up text at level up, but not a big deal.
But all in all very pleased with HotA so far.

Get ready for even more difficult maps . Difficulty is actually somewhat strange; for instance, I had major difficulties in the first map of the second campaign, but the final two missions were a breeze. But generally, the map is stacked against you, with enemies having access to 1 or 2 Creature Tiers higher than you and generally more income (often your towns are severly restricted in Village/Town/City Hall and Capitol is a rarity, while Sawmills and Ore Pits are also somewhat hard to come by).

Seems like HotA campaigns are a lot harder than at least RoE campaigns, which I just played through in Ubisoft's (pretty disappointing) Heroes 3 HD.
I accept the challenge but I don't expect it to be easy.

As you are new to Heroes Community, I would recommend to you ~Metataxer's Revenge~, it's Sod map though. This map is nice for newbie's to get along with advanced tactics, moreover, you will be heroes veteran after completing. If you didn't succeed guessing tactics for the fights, you will get hints to accomplish your mission for better gaming experience.

Uh, actually Metataxer revenge is one of the top 2 hardest maps (the other one being rise of the king sun, I never went past day 1, which took me 2 weeks of thinking and reloads), and most likely unplayable for less then Einstein type, as it requires to think out of the box several times.

So you guys were planning to make me play a map which sounds completely impossible and then when I came crying back here, you could laugh at me and tell me how bad I am? That is just mean guys, mean.
When playing against the ai, seems like it has advantages to humans, seems like it always has expert ballistics, very often gets morale and luck and can abuse whirlpools, luckily it's stoopid.

Nope, still human has the biggest advantage.
