Or, they just don't want to reveal Ram Ranch's amazing surprise, possibly a robot thing which you possibly can farm with Necromancy 2.0 Factory's racial skill. I have the impression they might use the Steel Golem for that or not.

It's totally possible, it's quite clear that the called racial skill will indeed work with the lvl 4 creature. Steel golem could totally fit, althrought gameplaywise it could possibly be a bit akward to some extend, as the "tank niche" is already filled with Armadillo. Maybe this would be to ensure that both branches have sturdy unit? Also, to some extend this would kinda "break" the ongoing theme of creature banks, as then fighting against Factory units in Experimental shop would give you Tower creatures.
Nonetheless, if the Steel golem would turn out to be the missing link, Factory will be a quite mixed bag, as then we would have:
-Field promoted, former neutral unit Halfling
-Engineer and Juggernaut from the Forge concept
-New type of Golem (from Tower)
-Sandworms lead by a "dead" Agar
-Wild west-themed Gunslingers, that have a connection to Cove
-Mesoamerican Couatls
That's kinda many themes one would have going around one faction.
Also, would that confirm a sixth golem type?

That was just a game theory, but it's still a possibility that it might be some kind of machine. If I remember correctly, some guys on the Russian forum said they might be some spider-like robots.

I understand that it's just a theory, but it's a good one nonetheless. I would expect the creature to be somewhat simple looking, so in that regard the golems would be fitting. If the racial skill would work similary like necromancy, then the constructs would need to be build after the battle. The spiders sound a bit too complex for that purpose in my taste.

or maybe there's a new plot twist: experimental shops will now give dreadnoughts, instead of giants. down with dragon utopia meat shields, long live the laser-powered dragon hive killer. (honestly, that special ability seems powerful in hives, are we going to be able to take big hives with just 1 dreadnought?)
seriously though, i think they don't want to reveal the entire line-up before the release, or maybe the level 4 creature sprites are just not yet 100% ready. in any case, please stop rushing the team and posting entitled, rude comments demanding the update be released now. the hota team doesn't owe you anything and they will release the new town when they feel like it. they already said it's likely to come out this year, so just wait patiently like a couatl in invulnerability state.
PS. let me take this opportunity to repeat that i'm super hyped for the new town and the various strategies it will enable. cannot wait to see which development path turns out to be more viable in real games.

Soo if I understood correctly from Streamfest due to HotA team finishing the cutscenes the Factory patch release is scheduled for January 2021?

It's when the BIG updates are scheduled and I don't think they'll have everything ready and tested much sooner, so that's when I'm betting on it. I just hope they don't have to delay it.

No, just Ram Ranch faction, mostly. Those changes will come after that update, and that update might even come at the end of this year.

Honestly speaking, it's a pretty bad sign if they're now (in August) expecting that they won't reach the traditional new year's "deadline." They've been overly optimistic in the past about the updates as well, so if things are presented like this, it's pretty likely that Factory will not be ready even in late January.

Ofc, this would be great and all, but the team is usually quite optimistic about how things are going. Factory will be released eventually, but it's likely to be later than sooner.

We've seen the videos. All the units appear 'functional/presentable', the town screen also looks presentable. I mean wtf are they waiting for????

What else am I missing. alpha, beta, gamma, zeta, omega testing. Srsly any game breaking bug like the one in 1.6.0 can be detected easily in a few games, u dun need a community to test for u. Other non-game breaking bugs we can put up with

IT WOULD LITERALLY TAKE OVER 20 years of waiting and I think even then we would be waiting longer. Set a bloody deadline and stick to it.

Despite your displeasure. You will not be able to play the new city this year. There will be no new Factory patch before winter 2021. And this is a fact.

Should'nt we just expect a New Years release like always? They seem to be happy about that schedule.
I must admit things are moving along slowly, they are very perfectionistic, but that should at least ensure quality.
