Still, they could very well be available on the AM as well, methinks.

Griffins are already planned as elite troops.

LucPatenaude said: There is two types of Elite troops: The ground based one=Cavalier and, the flying one=Griffins.
This time around, you have to choose which one to build, just like the Champion ones.
3 cores + 1 elite + 1 champion = 5 + 2 warfare units(no definitive news on them, yet)= 7 units on the battlefield.
The three war-machines types will be on the right side to the hero at the back line more known as the 'side-lines'.
It is an hybrid version of MMH5 with a twist of building choices when it comes to the elite and champion levels for each towns. Are warfare units the same as war-machines? Me don't know yet.
Warfare units are War Machines with a twist, they will be different for each race, and Griffins will not be in the game as elite units, we pretty much know that already.
And we know that the Griffins will be in the campaign, so the real question will we see them outside of the campaign? I think we will, because why wouldn't we when they are already doing Griffin models? It is not some sort of Boss creature that will be campaign only, adding more diversity among neutral creatures will be great.
And we will have 3 cores, 3 Elites and 1 Champion on the Battlefield, together with 3 Warfare units. We have 8 units per town(2 Champions but we will choose only one per town). I don't know where did you get your info.

That is hilarious, I hadn't noticed.
I must admit I hadn't noticed that either. In fact, the more I look at that picture, the more I notice how weird the various perspectives are. You can see windows and doorways in the bottom right section, which are smaller than their counterparts in the center of the town.
Also, something irks me a great deal about the wall in the lower left. It somehow seems the perspective on that wall is completely off, but I can't put the finger on it.
The wall doesn't appear smaller as it goes further away.

I fully agree.
Just look how H5 towns were planned but for some reasons we never got this feature: Haven, Academy, Necropolis, Sylvan, Inferno.

EDIT: So now that wolves are part of the Haven lineup,
do you think Griffins will take their place as neutral creatures?
If they're not at all in this game it would be a first.
I think they're Neutral, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Haven towns (either as ally to the player or as enemy), where Griffins are in the line up instead of Dire Wolves.

I would like to see units appear in the town as soon as they're recruitable - but alongside the peasants and other inhabitants of the town . Make it animated, so that you actually see people move about. I realise those animations become repetitive real fast, which is why some amount of randomness (when & which type most importantly) should be added as well.

something I liked from the H5 beta was at the creature recruitment screen, they actually showed all of your creatures standing inside of your castle

Wait, Ubisoft already prepare another rape of the series? Didn't see that coming...
1) The trailer is a generic crap.
2) The idiotic Ashan universe will be revisited once again to bore everyone to death.
3) Posers in shiny armour will dominate the landscape once more.
4) Probably the same daft producer is behind the whole thing.
That's a start worthy of Ubisoft. I think I'll follow some pixelled Kickstarter project instead.

Interesting how you're such an expert on the issue after seeing a 1 minute and a half trailer.
Now that you've succeeded on snowing over Ubisoft, could you please do us a favor and snow off?
