That's the beauty of wog though, a strong tool for modders to create all kinds of mods and the ability for the player to turn them on or off according to his preference.
Hell for multiplayer though (everyone has their won preferred settings), plus some people get choice overload from it.

I did not know that. I didnt steal it, i swear

So, if two people have the same idea, then i think it's safe to say that it could be good.
Possibly, though also a complex one, since each upgrade would need to be at least somewhat unique.

Also, another important dimension, learning from WoG, is modability/complex map editor.
Mm, I'm going to suggest that a RMG is a bigger thing for most players. Not everyone's a scenario designer, but no-one likes to play just a set group of maps.

More seriously though, Wog is mostly meant for single-player experience. I don't even think it's working for multi other than hotseat. And even if it was, if playing with friends it's not that hard to just agree on the rules (every hotseat I did with friends went fine), if it's a competitive tournament, the organizer sets the rules and you don't have much choice than to follow them if you want to participate.

Yes, it is true there is a choice overload, but I rather complain about too much than not enough. Out of the hundreds of wog mods available, I never tried them all, and I don't mind.

I'm 40 now, yes, which means I'm part of the generation that takes HoMM for what it actually is: a strategy game, not a java game on your mobile that you're accessing occasionally so that your friends think you are cool cause you like "strategy" games.

I'm 37 - a senior strategy player... And HoM&M is the fantasy medieval strategy wargame genre series I grew up with, identify most with, and wish to see live on into the future!

P.S.
Heroes 3 is for children!

But seriously, I don't mind if you think that H3 is for kids. Everyone is entitled to their opinion

I am just suggesting that the original HoMM and also HoMM2 deserve far more credit for breaking new ground - strategy-wise - than Heroes 3! The H3 fad is an irrational fixation, that has done the genre more harm than good.

HoMM1 maybe (though I haven't played King's Bounty, so I'm not sure), but HoMM2 was no more revolutionary than HoMM3.

I wouldn't call HoMM3 revolutionary relative to HoMM2. It was an incremental, formulaic development, i.e. another successful sequel.

HoMM5, on the other hand, I would call revolutionary, because it advanced not just the series, but the whole strategy genre (in 2007) as well.

HoMM8 would have to be just as revolutionary, and that is what I am proposing here, in this thread(and the other one as well!).

In terms of gameplay h5 is basically an improvement built over the h3 basis... It was anything but 'revolutionary'... They messed up the 3D environment too, and got sued for stealing Warhammer graphics...

You're stuck on the "HoMM3 is overrated" vibe, which is clouding your sight as to what each game adds. The fact that they added spell schools in HoMM3 completely rejigged the magic system, as you now had access to mass spells (haste, slow, etc.) which completely changed the might/magic balance.

One factor I didn't like about HoMM5 was the fact that a hero's factional skill was pre-selected, thus preventing you from mixing and matching heroes as you could do inn previous games.

Heroes III is the stupidest show!

There needs to be more variety!

Not just random players, looking for gold!

That's why I play strategy; to broaden my horizons!

Vote Trump!!!

Your complains about Heroes III don't hold water, as you seem to lack the understand of the progression of the HoMM series,

Uhh, that's not HoMM3, that's Jebus Cross/King (which exists in H5 too).
