If u have a semi-strong hero defending a castle and he/she is attacked by a stronger army than yours u can try to kill the catapult.

In order for this tactics to work:
1. The enemy mustn't be able to et over the walls and wipe u out (flying etc)
2. The enemy hero mustn't have to powerful spells and enough spellpoints to wipe u out.

Conclusion:
If u manage to destroy the catapult, all flying/teleporting creatures and archers u can just hide behind your walls

185 mastergremlins week 2 is quite..."unusual"...but of course helps a lot to kill the griffs...

Or is this TE version again?

Rofl the Luna one was funny but risky even if doubles wall damage for 2 hex creatures. What was the SP at that time?

There is no risk with Luna. It's all about math. Royals initiative may pose a threat, but for that you bring all fodder, and for largest cons you bring one strong stack (efreet etc). Craig Hack takes full cons w2, but Luna is the best at this, if developed properly (and the best for banks, save full which is usually faster taken care with mass slow then accumulating sufficient SP for Luna). There is a section about this in the Tribute manual.

I was thinking at griffins morale as a risk regardless this example only. However the strategy this guy uses is perfect for this thread.

you only need 1 gremlin-dwell to make 185.

30-40 from three heroes (2 week 1, and 1 week 2), 16 from town week 1, 16 from dwelling week 1 and 2 and 16-32 from town week 2 (depends on citadel/castle)

if you build castle that should make a average of 185.

great tactics

This game was i think Maretti vs Stinger... Stinger didn't fight with only those spells, he had slow aswell from shrine and cape of velocitiy +2 speed so he'll go first, cast mass slow and you follow

Building the Ultimate.....

.....Ranged, First-Round Killer Army.
A Hero with Golden Bow, all Unit Speed Boosting Items, Mass Haste spell, Expert Archery, Expert Leadership, maybe Expert tactics as well. Army consisting of Titans, Arch Magi, Cyclops Kings, and maybe Grand Elves.
The first turn, with speed-boost items, your Titans should have a speed of at least 14 or 15. Good chance you will go first on the first round. First thing you do is cast Mass Haste. Now your Titans will have 18 or 19 speed, Arch Magi 14 or 15 speed, Cyclops Kings 15 or 16, and Grand Elves 14 or 15 speed. The Mass Haste benefits non-Titans obviously. Now before you've even attacked there is a good chance ALL your units will be able to shoot first.
The reason I say to Speed buff your troops, rather than try to Slow the enemy, is because they may have troops immune to Slow/Blind, and so it's better to buff your own troops and have guaranteed benefits.
At this point, as long as you have a number of stacks equal to or greater than theirs (such as if they have 5 stacks, you have at least 5 Ranged stacks), and provided you have sufficient damage from stacks, you could kill an entire Main Army in your very first round, before they even have a chance to retreat/counter/cast spell.
If your morale is high enough (from Leadership/Items), you might get lucky and one (or even two) of your ranged stacks will get 2 attacks.
Of course, you actually have to have all those circumstances come together for you to get there...

They wouldn't. The Ranged tactic is mainly against the computer, since the computer Hero never divides his fastest stack (like Black Dragons or Arch Devils) into multiple stacks to have a one-round, first-strike Killer army.

you could kill an entire Main Army in your very first round, before they even have a chance to retreat/counter/cast spell which will only satisfy your ego after avoiding the CPU for 10 months, just so that you can prove yourself you are so pro that you can wipe an army in 1 round
