Somehow I doubt they're showcasing Stunky.  If it were Kadabra or something else that evolves via trade, that's one thing--there's a glitch for those that I've used myself.  But Manaphy, Dialga etc... for Stunky?

Pokémon is pretty much so popular it will never be of the shelfs, i even got my entire class to play Sapphire and Ruby on the GBA when i was 7.

From what I've heard about it (appears in the next movie, has its name in the title)...I'm guessing they're going for the next Lucario.
Edit:
Out of curiousity, where do you lot due your EV training?
In Emerald I use Altering Cave for Speed, the route with the volcanic ashes for Special Attack, and the Magma Hideout for Defense.
For Platinum I repeatedly challenge the trainer with the Pidgeot north of the Battle Area for Speed and the trainer with the Salamence for Attack north of the Resort. Best I've found for Special Defense is a swimmer with a Lombre in the route between the two; she's not ideal though.

i never did any EV training to be honest...
except for special attack. i trained on those bicyclists on bicycle road in emerald. (not sure if magnemite gives special attack or defence)

On a separate note, I have to say that I'm very annoyed that Trick and Thief don't work in Trainer Hill. CHEAP!

i have to say i really hate firered... i traded all my good pokemon away and since i can't figure out how to rebattle trainers...
I have to beat the elite 4 with a level 7 squirtle and two pidgeys in order to get more money to buy a pokeball.

well i'm getting heartgold tomorrow and the most important question in all of pokemon is at hand.
Which starter do i choose?
Chikorita - The grass type. has no type advantages against the gym
Cyndaquil - the fire type. has three type advantages against the gym
Totodile - the water type. has no type advantages against the gym

thing. and i have to say although heartgold is awesome it will never replace my fond memories of gold.

Why play gold in stead of crystal? In crystal you also get the battle tower add on, which is the only real challenge in the game in my opinion.
Also do you play on PC, or have you done something clever to make it more comfortable to play, because for me, it seems like the game was made for playing on gameboy. I have tried it on the pc, and I quickly looses interest. Though maybe it is rather because I am older now, not sure.

I think generation IV grants its popularity to the multiplayer feature. The gyms itself arent a big fun anyway.

yellow & silver bring me a lot of childhood memories  Those nights spent with the gameboy in hand, argh, that -awesome- 8bit (not sure  ) music, and the mystery atmosphere...
however if you want some battling, the only real place are the online arenas.

And I'm going to agree with you on the remakes, even though I don't have mine yet. Nothing quite topped that one moment in G/S walking into the Rocket hideout:

I also has to suggest Cyndaquil .. Typhlosion is simply cooler than the rest, and barely beats their stats. Easy to train and is useful also later in the games.
