+1, gen two is still my favorite to this day.  In fact, I only own Heart Gold right now... And even though half of my team is gen 3 or 4, most of my favorites are from silver/ gold/ crystal (Scizor, Lugia, Ariados, Skarmory, Suicune etc).

Anyway, I don't recall being warned when I played gold/silver about how to evolve haunter, nor graveler.

I don't think the specified Haunter and Graveler in Gold/Silver, but they said something along the lines of "Certain pokémon only evolve through trading. Some must also hold items when traded, like slowpoke."

I have been playing some Pokemon Liquid Crystal, and I must say it's really awesome!
It's like a combination of blue/red, crystal and ruby/sapphire so it has tons of pokemons and thus far it has been very well made.
Can recommend it.

Meh...are Pass Orbs good for anything in single player?  I've got loads of them in the Dream World, it'd be nice if there was some use for them.

Black 2 first impressions:
Pacing at the beginning is slow. (Hello Game Freak, I've already played at least one of every one of the five Generations so far. I don't need five solid minutes of the NPCs on the Xtransiever telling me how wonderful Pokemon are.) Habitat Listing is nifty. NPCs are obsessed with giving you Pokeballs.

Ok so I obliterated Black 2 sometime last week and am now in the process of moving all my favorite Mons over from the Black as I've done with every generation since the introduction of the Time Machine in Gen II. I don't think I ever said how I felt about the first Black and White games so I'll just roll my thoughts about Black and Black 2 into this one post.
Both games are pretty solid graphics wise. I love the bridges Skyarrow being one of my favorite and Castelia City was designed really cool. The baddies of Team Plasma in both games were lame in my opinion. I understand the game is intended for kids but these guys just seemed like a whole new level of stupid and immature. The sages and the dissapeary ninja dudes were the only ones I had any level of respect for. How do you go from Team Rocket who it was heavily implied killed and did very bad things to pokemon to these guys who exposition every chance they get and say some of the dumbest (wish I could remember them) pre battle phrases I've seen so far.
I like the starters. Didn't like Oshawott at first but I'm impressed by his final evolution.
As far as the other new pokemon new to the series, they're a hit or miss with me. Blitzle is one of my new favorite electric types. Sandile is a cool mix of dark and ground. Litwick is an awesome ghostie.
As far as the new legendaries go, now that I've played with both Reshiram and Zekrom, I was surprised to find that I like Reshiram better (although I do prefer Kyurem in his black form).
It seemed like the Elite Four was tougher for me in Black then they were in Black 2 but maybe I just had better developed pokemon this time around.
The Rivels (there are two of them) in Black were interesting but for the most part forgettable.
The Rivel in Black 2... yeah he's a special case. He's not a complete jerkwad like past rivels but his one track mind and mission to get his sister's pokemon back can get kind of annoying at times.
And that's all I have to say about that.
I still hope that one day they'll put out a sweet console pokemon game.

In b4 Colloseum/ tides of darkness: A GOOD console game where you don't steal people's pokemon. 
Personally, I would love to see a remake of the 3rd gen games that allowed you to go to other regions. It just seems like it could be allot of fun to play through all of these areas.

What I dislike in the latest gen is the gadawful starters. Literally, they are crap tier. Pretty much every generation had at least 1 good starter (Blaziken actually got banned from normal play, lol) but the latest one? Ugh.

Must I refer you to the terrible Gen 2 starters? Typhlosion, good starter in that specific game, but horrible allover. Meganium, terrible. Feraligatr, terrible starter in the game and not really useful otherwise either (though Gen 5 gave it some slightly useful tools).
Gen 1 and 3 on the other hand .. oh man, the power! Venusaur, Charizard, Blaziken .. simply pure power (thanks to Secret abilities).
Anyone else here heard of Pokemon Online? This is the best way to simply create a team within a specific tier and try different tactics to try and beat other players.

Gen2 starters were okay for their generation, actually. Well, not really awesome, but playable at least. And they got buffed in 5th Gen.
In Gen5, there's however a lot higher "average power level", and adding pitiful starters is just... terrible. Besides, why do we need fire/fighting for the third time?

Have any of you guys played or watched a Let's Play of Pokemon Ash Gray?
And yes I know. Hacks are bad. I don't condone or approve blah blah whatever but I watched a few videos on it and wow.
It follows the anime like almost exactly.
