Hrmmm. Level 10 is soon enough, I s'pose. But is it before or after the first gym? And will we be able to get our free Torchic before that?(Don't expect that to be answered yet). Otherwise I would consider catching a birdmon soonish for that, seeing as I'm opting for Chespin.
As far as Mega-Charizard X-Y goes. The notion of more mons having different megaevolutions is kinda interesting and I wonder which other have such differing megavolutions. On the other hand Charizard was always my least fav of the Kanto starters and I was never that bothered by the fact that it wasn't a dragon.(Or I don't remember getting over it)
And for the Spritzee and Swirlix evos. They're.....so....Pink?!

Both are meh, I won't even touch them with a stick, though the birds evolutions looks a bit better imo
Aside from that, with the reveal of Charizard X and Y... Just think how, with one move, the Pokemon devs have made "material" for couple of generations to come. Mega Evolution possibilities are enormous, I wonder how many more will be present in X and Y. (Though I've read somewhere that not a single new generation Pokemon will get a Mega Evolution).

I would say (but this is a guess) between the first and second. Viola's gym appears pretty early (similar to Cilan/Chili/Cress), and the guy's team were around level 11 when he got his kanto starter.
Speaking of which, lots of pokémon from other gens appear. Those that I remember seeing are:
- Pikachu*
- Pichu*
- Psyduck*
- Skitty*
- Corphish*
- Gulpin*
- Doduo*
- Pansage*
- Plusle
- Minun*
- Lucario
- Zigzagoon
- Ralts
- Scraggy*
- Marril
- Magikarp

- Kadabra (notably: a level 13 Kadabra??? O__O)
those with an asterisk are confirmed wild pokémon. Those without appear as pokémon owned by trainers. Didn't see Rhyhorn or Absol, but both were confirmed as wild pokémon from other spoilers.
Bunnelby, Furfrou and Pancham are available early.

Final evo of Fennekin was leaked, she (or he in drag) positively looks like a WITCH <3
and yes Kareeah, (s)he's Psyich/Fire 
what else... oh, someone on 4chan posted a scan of some sort of ROCK/FAIRY type that is based on a gem. A rock type resisting fighting <3 lmao @ the QUADRUPLE WEAKNESS TO STEEL it would have though  (which actually makes sense, since "steel" equipment is used to delve gems. Serendipity <3)
but anyway i beat Elesa, and my team is almost getting finalized
    
i however WANT chandelure, so i'll have to kick someone out, sadly. And depending in my mood, i might get either Haxorus OR Galvantula (yeah, i know.)

I've already seen like three versions of Fennekin's final evo, but the one with the broom is possibly the right one as Braixen has a broom for a tail so it figures...
BTW, I wonder how much short-sighted can Gamefreak be to ship the games so early to some shops. A leak was inevitable. Also if the game is gold already, why aren't they releasing it earlier? For instance, IGN will post the game review on October 4th (as stated on their site). What gives with the 12.10 premiere date?
EDIT: Ok now that I've seen what seems to really be the final forms of starters, I must say I'm disappointed (no official info though, so there is still hope). I mean, they are not that bad, but their design could've gone in so many better ways (there are a lot of better fan-made interpretations). I'll probably stick to Froakie cus' I like it's evolutions the most (though I pictured it's final form in a different way)...

I'm wont not to put too much faith in leaks not shown on Bulbapedia. And I have seen sever, not resembling eachother, "final starter leaks", some looking better than others.
I won't believe it untill it shows on Bulbapedia.

its ability is based on rain weather effects so... could this be a water/dragon dual type? i'd prefer dragon/poison or dragon/fairy if given the opportunity to pick, but eh. It's ON MY TEAM FOR SURE.

Maybe it's a way to prevent rare item duplication? You know, play a game, store your Pokemon with rare item. Play the game with a new save, get the item once more, store it with another Poke. It's quite likely that has something to do with it. It could potentially be used to transfer all kinds of rare and usefull things from previous gens.
Also, with all leaks nowadays, I'm starting to have second thoughts on my projected team. It would appear that the final Evo of Chespin, which I find the best looking of the bunch, is Grass|Fighting. Which would make it overlap with Blaziken. Which makes me consider scrapping the Blaziken, but I'm not certain what to replace it with. Or how to fill up the rest of my team for that matter.
