It doesn't really matter how is the box called. Data files are all the same, sometimes just localized texts are hard to parse. But it'll be fixed in the future.

Good work! this is in my opinion the most important "thing" going on in the H3 world. this will be huge when finished and everyone will be able to add towns/creatures/features in a convenient way.

Great to see released!
One question: if I understood it correctly, the game is equivalent to normal Heroes at version 1.0. Does that mean there are only 0.2 versions to go and you are pretty close to "finishing" it?

as you can see the versions are on a 0.xx format. a new version is released once every 2-3 months.3-4 more versions on 0.8,same on 0.9 plus the final release,u do the math

I didn't ask for a release date, and in my time on this forum I've learned normal maths do not apply when it comes to projects. Though this one seems most stable, I'm not being optimistic.

The roadmap has never been properly laid out, but to my understanding 1.0 will be something equivalent to H3 SoD yes, with RMG possibly excluded (someone skilled in generating maps would be helpful). After 1.0 comes the work on multiplayer security, scripting/modding, WoG features and other additives.

In such case the 1.0 version would not be very interesting . But time will tell what and when we'll implement. On the first page there are only mentioned our rough plans in resonable order.

There's no point in creating new RMG before mod support for example.

Are you sure? I think it should be possible, since mods adding things like creatures, artifacts and factions would do so by appending entries to the appropriate lists. An RMG would not need to know about this, if it wants a random creature to place somewhere it would just randomize an index for the list of creatures and pick that creature.
But there could be a problem with possible hardcoded mechanics changes, like the possibility of wrapping maps and multiple levels.

Good stuff so far, except the puzzle map, it seems to revealing to me, what with showing all of the treasure as well as the terrain.

VCMI will replace huge number of monsters with thousands, millions and billions to shorten the text. I'd not be able to show it if not this spectacular bug reported by Boulie

Things are moving along fairly well I see. This project excites me more each time I see an improvement of one kind or another. I am so waiting for each finished release and salivating for the finished product. As I think most Heroes fans are. What a great commitment to the project goes out to the entire team. Your work is not in vain. People are paying close attention to this project.

I will do that soon. I have so many irons in the fire concerning HoMM right now. Translating. I am overwhelmed with translating texts for H3 and H4 maps to English. Map making. I'm still making them, but not as fast as I used to. CH Staff. Keeping that site alive and popular with newer maps and files. And of course, the Archives. Keeping it as fresh as possible. If I did'nt have my hands in so many things, I would offer my sevices to your team as a devoted tester to VCMI only! But as soon as I catch up with all the things I need to catch up on, I will test the Hell out of it and LOOK for bugs only, rather than simply enjoy it. Because I believe that this product should be absolutely bug free. It's the greatest thing since WoG, to me, IMHO. And that's why it should noy be abandoned like so many others. It's the greatest thing since the invention of sliced bread!
I did'nt have to tell you my status, obviously, but I love this project and if I was'nt so involved with other stuff I would join in on the fun and help get this product out ASAP. But I will test it from time to time when I get the chance and keep a log handy and write down what I find. As all who try this should do.

My screen resolution is not supported. 1280 x 768, but I went ahead anyway with it. I got as far as the first battle and it froze on me. I did'nt save anything out of frustration. Sorry about that now that I think about it. I may try it again later, but I got frustrated figuring out how all the commands to just get it to work handled. Hopefully a more easier way to get it all to work smoothly for simpletons like me will come about. It all looks promising that's for sure. I'm glad I had a back up folder for all my H3 stuff. The CMD box really confused me a lot and I kept getting security messages for one reason or another. Anyway, that's my report so far.

Hi everybody. I dont know if this has been covered elsewhere.
I would love to see a Homm3 with additional planes. That is :
astralplane
heaven
groundlevel
underground
deep underground
and hell
astralplane i imagin it like the last place b4 finishing wizardry 8 sort of abstract in general
heaven : like in m&m series sort of... genarally a world ontop of clouds
groundlevel : This we got
underground : This we got
deep underground : a little darker theme here. Doungens perhaps?
hell : inferno inspired
Maybe 4 planes, maybe six depends on what other ideas people here may think of
Then should underground be "neutral grounds" ie the high up is good and down low is evil. doesnīt neccecarily have to be like that aligmentwise but just a thought
all time iīve been playing this good gameseries iīve had that thought so my hope is that WHEN the vmci-guys fininsh their 1.0 perhaps they could take this into consideration.
more planes = bigger maps
Also will someone plz help me register in the vmci-forum cuz i canīt see the picture (for verification) at all

1.There is NO verification picture. Read carefully.
2.We are interested in implementation details, not the background lore. In this case we're wondering if it's likely to prepare working, consistent and practical multi-level layout, not what color will the levels be. See here.

Well, the messages are there for a reason indeed. If you would be so kind and reported what exactly does console say.
