@artu

Not at all. Being a former immigrant or having immigrants in your ancestors doesn't mean you must remain different, an immigrant, a stranger, therefore fight for more strangers coming in. Immigration is a privilege, is a choice of embracing another culture and way of life, identify to it, become a full citizen of that country and fight for its values as they become your new ones.

If your conscience tells you that further immigration will have a harmful effect and will conflict with your recent values, there is nothing funny acting in your conscience.

Beside, we all know what "being against immigration" means in European context, is all about Islam but people have to take the general context because of liberals who have only one word in their mouth, probably in connection with their single brain cell.

I can tell you artu that if you come here, you will never hear any remark about you being Turk or whatever.

Well, don't you think there is an irony in having ancestory that you're making a political career by trying to block? If Donald Trump's great grandfather would turn out to be Arabic, wouldn't you consider that as something a little inconvenient for his rhetoric?

Stop looking at the past is what I say. Or we might as well all go back to Africa (or if one is into ancient aliens theory, I fear us whites belong on another planet). >.<

I tend to look at it like this: If you are integrated into a society (by following the law, norms etc and contribute, then you are as equal as anyone else there. That means you have the same rights to believe immigration is bad as anyone else, without the need to be stamped as different, even though your ancestors were immigrants.

Although I think the issue here is that we sort immigrants into the leecher groups, the ones that do not follow the law, norms etc under the label. Personally, I tend to speak of "movers" for actual country swappers. But that's just me.

UK was never fully part of EU. Like mvass said EU could possibly integrate further in the future because of this. I just hope EU and UK can keep a fruitful alliance. No doubt this will hurt UK more than it does EU tho.

Bla bla bla...and if I happen to be right and that it will hurt the EU more than the UK in the long run, can I get a free icecream?

Edit: Srsly was it a or an icecream?...

The main problem is political and about politics ego, and here we will observe their true nature, wait and see. Basically, nothing prohibits EU to keep same alliances, trades and relations with UK, except that if they do so, they will acknowledge that "far-right" parties were on the spot: EU is not necessary.

The optimal way would be to drop EU as it is now then build a new one from scratch, with continent wide elected leaders, where each country sovereignty respect is underlined as first amendment, and where people's voices are heard, not ignored as till now. And where America's insistent voice is fully ignored, for once. Is OUR business.

Back in the days when men were men, nobody would give out the power like that. Armies had to trash yours before you yielded. Now, they convince you to give out power with honeyed words.

The globalist idea is a beautiful one, but in practice? Doesn't work. Maybe it will work one day, when every country fixed their snow. Before that? Give your power and prepare to be discarded when you're not needed anymore.

I am not basing thison how my balls are tingling atm but just on how all the experts see this as bad for their economy. And it is not thhe end of the world - to UK it might be worth the price to be able to get out of EU.

Take your blahblahblah elsewhere, that is very rude, and we had a nice talk earlier I am surprised by this attitude

Edit: It is an icecream because icecream starts with a vowel sound.

I can tell you artu that if you come here, you will never hear any remark about you being Turk or whatever.

I know that not everybody who are having concerns about immigration policies are racists with sub-human categorizations in the back of their heads. But the guys in the linked video are certainly populists who use fear and quite cheap ones as far as I can tell, I mean... Brexit as Independence Day, come on.

The thing is, when I read foreign analysts, most of them think the reaction to the Union is because people (especially working-class locals) think that the EU bureaucracy has turned into some form of oligarchy, putting the interests of a transnational corporate elite before the people. And the very reason they also lost interest in what economy experts etc say is, they don't think the economy those experts talk about works in their favor anyhow. Now, when you have that kind of loss of faith, it is a very common reaction for masses to go emotional and look for scapegoats and some politicians are very good at exploiting that tendency. Is that guy in the video telling the other one who was born there, that "he is not British enough to enter the parliament" doing that because of Islam? Is the woman who says "she has a problem with negroes but she just doesn't know why" referring to Sharia Law?

No one here can empathize better with you when it comes to your concerns about political, radical Islam but it's something that people from all backgrounds should stand up together against rather than suggesting a system that sucks a region dry and then close all doors when it comes back to bite.

Everytime I hear the word "Expert" I do a facepalm.
But yeah sorry if I sounded rude, I am just a bit too happy atm since everything I predicted is going according to plan.
Btw both a and an icecream works (did a long read up on it), but a is only allowed in the manner of speaking, not spelling.

@artu, all you hear or read is exaggerated. People keep escalating because the other side escalates, and so on. Until the illness is not fully identified, names and cured, people will keep saying shocking things, because thats the only way to counter the other side, which is doing same.

I mean, look at our newspapers, media and all: 3 days they keep saying, 99% of them, that english are racists scum, that all english personalities are sad about people choice, that a "Buffon" will replace Cameron, that everyone calling to frexit will face the same fate, that England is a dead country. This is social class full scorn, from out-of-touch oligarchs, this is thinking the people has no brain, THIS is racism.

So the people responds and things keep escalating.

Bullcrap. Things escalate because there are always people who take advantage of the fears people have about things changing and dangers and aliens and whatnot to further their PERSONAL power gains. Especially in Britain.

And "we don't want POSLIH vermin" could also read "We don't want ROMANIAN vermin" - even you should be able to see that, Salamandre.

Well 96% of the world's media is owned by you-know-who and due to the close influence of the banks, it is only natural for the headlines to be like that because it disturbs the ruling order. People in charge hate when the common masses of people take control.

Maybe not racism, but a high degree of looking down at people like mindless cattle.

Greed is present in humans regardless of where they stand politically and both sides fear changes that is not on their terms. Britain is no single case here, all too many countries have the same issue. = /
