Supposedly some people have zounds of rare Pokemon of all kinds on their PokeBank accounts (from who knows where). They even organize some daily giveaways (just look on Pokemon 4chan board for instance). Maybe you've stumbled upon some "I wanna make someone happy today" kind of guy 
EDIT: Or, you can do this: QR Codes. I know it's kind of a cheat, but you can use this method (exploit) to get some of that elusive Pokemon (I tested it, works, but seems all those Pokes are hacked and thus might be unwelcome in competitive).

recently started getting into breeding and man, it's a chore. close to getting a fantastic Treecko though 
now to try and get a full 6 IV ditto... god damn mirage spots

Have any of you tried the new "free" pokemon Shuffle? It is just candy crush with pokemon.. and man I am addicted.. I hate it, but I love it..

I have! It is quite a good thing to keep yourself distracted from constant dying in Hero mode in "The Link between Worlds".

Just had to dig back into the golden years a little bit. Bought gold and silver version with a trading cable Me and my brother are about it to duke it out!! Those two are the best pokemon games ever made

I have finally caught the whole Regi trio and Regigiggas. I was so happy that I got whole Hoenn Pokédex in OR but no! Instead of Regigiggas the 210th Pokémon is an event exclusive Jirachi. Grrrr...

Pokemon is awesome My favourite ones are the eeveelutions, mostly because they are cute(oops I'm shallow) but also Sylveon is a pretty strong pokemon Can't say as much for the others, sadly.

I love Pokémon. The franchise has gone through the same things as HoMM, from the days of glory (G/S/C) to failed experiments (those who came after), to remakes of the glory days (HG/SS) Venusaur is my all-time favourite (uber tank/leecher), followed by Gengar, Crobat and Umbreon. Scizor and Steelix are also close to my heart. And Typhlosion, Omastar, Dragonite, Omastar and a few others.
Never use legendary Pokemon though, as it feels like cheating.

Found myself a shiny KOFFING today(AS). Very fancy and lucky enough to get a neutral nature and perfect HP and Attack IV's (unlike my crappy physical shiny haunter(Y)). No breeding moves is unfortunate but heck I'll take it and use it.

Damn, I remember catching the first shiny - a Loudred. However, I made a mistake and loaded the game when it didn't caught it. A shame. R.I.P.
