Pardon a Question from an old-time HOMM3 player, but a NOOB to VCMI:

Will the 144 Creature dwelling and 48 Town limit be increased?
The biggest frustration for me presently is making an XL map and not being able to fill it.  That's with the present XL 144 x 144 maps - imagine how "empty" looking a 256 x 256 XXL map would be with these limits.

You can't fill it? I would need a 1000x1000 map size to put all I want in. There are some facilities restrictions but with WoG we can overcome them. The number of events can also be increased by scripts, apparently to no limits. Hero movement should be increased for bigger maps.

There is already no limit. More dwellings for VCMI can be placed with RMG, but we would need new tool to add over 48 castles.

Thanks Salamandre, perhaps I should have said that restricting to 48 towns and 144 dwellings makes it *seem* like I can't fill it.  I just like having all options available.  When the towns and dwellings become grayed out, it's just depressing.  Looks like it can be fixed though.  Thanks for the reply.

Initiative bar is the simpliest necessary thing. Also displaying kill-damage would be nice instead of raw damage.

We are used to calculate differently the moving order of units. Initiative bar makes the battles much easier for the new players and spoil the fun for veterans. At least that's how I see it.

I also believe that computing is good for computers.

Now you can see stack exp boost also on hero screen!


That's because it's all linked with one Bonus System.

New development version 0.83b is finally out. Half of engine has been rewritten, so it needs lots of tests!

Hello,

I’ve been playing Heroes 3 and WoG for some years and just stumbled across this project… It looks great! Honestly I haven’t the time to read through the whole thread but I just wanted to add an idea:
There’s one thing I’ve always hated, and that’s the portals, at least the fact that there’s no option allowing you to turn them off...

Also the AI insists on dividing its armies into many small parts, making it very easy to beat. If it would only gather its forces in just one or a few armies it might be able to offer a bit of resistance.

Oh… downloaded the 0.83 version and couldn’t get the window to fill out the screen… But that’s probably just me being less that a genius  )

In config/settings.txt there's line which turns fullscreen mode on and off.

Well i tested it and i think it's outstanding but i have one question:
Will the towns be more simple to modify without great scripting abilities needed?
Oh, and one other thing, i found that if you modify ZCRtrait and make a creature shooter then modifying cr_shots you can make a new shooter
I dunno if it's correct
