This made me think on that a little.
I don't agree with this, and that doesn't make naga more or less probable, I tell you. If they are going to introduce a new race in a prequel game, I think they are bound to change the timeline, even if only to add them and at the and of the events destroy them somehow. So I'm sorry if this sounds like lore-heresy, but they could very well add Ewoks as fifth race and just put them in the new timeline, along with their destruction before Heroes 5. Besides, if its really new and secret, I guess we will not find that many clues flying around in a lore base that, as the concept of new obligates, does not mention such faction (and I said faction, not creature).

Okay theoratically, we may see a new type of academy on this game.
After all, orcs were created by wizards and then they rebelled.
After that, wizards created the minatours, medusa, such creatures which i can't name right now to do their dirty work. Beastmen is a good name.
A new race including such creatures with two units from the old academy, mage+titan is possible. Admira gave me this opinion it'd be rude not to give credit to him, thanks Admira  .
It would be a new race and it would fit very well into the lore.
One can only hope .

Evil terrorist organization with Minotaurs that upgrade to Kamikaze Minotaurs, who explode as soon as they headbutt into the enemy ranks.

We have now: human "life" empire, burning demons, undead army and mighty orcs&friends which can stand for "nature" faction (they worship Mother Earth and Father Sky). So in my opinion we need now magic faction: wizards, summons etc. It could be something like Academy, it could be Nagas or Voodoo Circle of Beastmen - it doesn't matter. I just want awesome city of magic

Okay this from the FAQ does nothing but support that Nagas will be the 5th faction in Heroes 6

The possibility of Naga purely might faction is quite probable and very lore friendly, I have to add.
I know, I know that Nagas appearance is probably inspired by Warcraft, but who cares? If that's the case let's rid of the Orcs and Elves as they appear to be, because they inspired by Tolkien's works. Makes sense? Not to me!
Drawing inspiration is one thing, and I consider it good. I don't care whatever is the source. Copying is another thing, and I consider it bad. Copying like they copied H5's Dungeon Dark Raiders from Warhammer and the H3's Fortress Gorgon from D&D.
As long as the Nagas will not remind me in anything but name those of Warcraft III, I'll be quite happy to have them.

I just have an alternative idea. Maybe, it's a beastman faction, I mean, made only by beastman that don't appear in the other factions. Minotaurs, satyrs, werewolfs, lizardman(?), and even nagas... maybe, they had put them into a "oriental" backgroud, which would explain the "samurai naga" picture. But, it's just an idea...

I tend to put reptile men and mammal men in different categories (mammal men usually coming to mind when you say beastmen) but it is an interesting idea. I think it could work, but what would the champion be? Anyone know any uber powerful mammalian mythological creatures? The only thing that comes to mind for me is the Nemean lion, but I'm not much of an expert on most mythologies.
EDIT: Also, the Nemean Lion would probably visually fit Haven the best, though I think it's too similar to the griffin. And it just occurred to me that a beastmen faction probably wouldn't work well in the jungle, though maybe it might fit underground.

Nightterror, u just put terror into my night.
Anyway, i was thinking ( considering its not an adventuring building ) it could some kind of northern faction which includes less dwarves, which wouldn't be that terrorizing.
It pretty much looks like a snowy university though.

Naga=good as an unit in a town,but not as full faction
Faceless=would be great to see them,but there are too much evil factions
Dragon Knights=no thanks
Other factions=I think there will be academy or sylvan
It would be great if they will bring back h3 fortress ,but not so many chances

I really wouldn't mind seeing Wizards put back in the Snow setting, hell, you can probably combine it with Dwarves since both seem fixated on engineering and technology in a way. Or at least you can make it that way.

Ashan has no lore, it has a very bad story, nothing more.

You would have the coolest faction ever, with some golems, nagas and dwarves. Agreed . Ofc, it wouldn't be wizard faction without genies.

Now that I think of it:
Naga IS the elder race of the dragon of water so it has the same power than an angel or a faceless.
Haven champion is a half-angel because the angel is too strong to be a champion.
If angels are a 'Boss' or something in between Nagas should also be like that.
As nagas in H3 were weaker than titans then they would be even bigger bosses.
Tiatans in H5 were the same level as arcangel so they should also be real bosses.
My point is: Nagas and Titans are too strong to be part of a faction. The fifth faction will probably not have a naga in their line-up and academy fans will cry. Correct me if I am wrong.
