MiniaAr said: I must say, I really liked your lineups.
I have however some doubts about the 3rd Champion, as it seems forced for most factions (except stronghold actually) and a 4/4/2 setup with your proposals would make HVIII and instant buy for myself.
Champions I think are not necessary:
- Forest Guardian: With a walking green dragon, and a flying phoenix, I'd say that the forest seems pretty well guarded.
- Swordmaster: the lion rider idea is so awesome and makes an impressive Human Champion for Haven. Plus, lion riders already have swords, thus I think swordmasters can be done away.
- Reaper: With the bone/spectral dragon already as a flyer, I would prefer dread knights and reapers to be a single unit, as it is in HVII.
- Archmage: For me, the Archmage in an academy army is the hero himself, this seems a strange champion unit alongside Titans and Mana birds.
- Abyssal Worm: a neat idea, but I don't think the world (of Ashan) is ready for this.
- Sea Dragon: with Kraken and Kirin, I don't feel the need for a Sanctuary dragon as it is.
- Fire Dragon: I like both the Jötunn and the Fire Geant for Fortress, and the game has already a lot of Dragons. No need to put one for this faction with already 2 great Champions units.
In the end, only for Stronghold and Dungeon would I feel that the 3 Champions principle is justified. One solution could be to put back the Hydra into your Bastion faction proposal (which has quite a lot of nice features). I'd feel sad about losing the Thunderbird, but why not put Cyclops in Elite tiers (as they lose their evil eye) in place of the Oliphant?
In anycase, superb work that puts to shame the current proposed lineups for EUVII.
Thanks !
I had my doubts about 3rd champions myself but when I have made couple easy ones I decided to make the rest, and i would prefer to have one more choice in core and elite than another champion.
I mostly agree with your choices but if the line-ups would be 4/4/2:
-Sylvan, I would scrap emerald knight or I would have to make him ranged somehow, because the elite would be one shooter and three melee (without forest guardian) there would have to be some changes of roles
-Necro, no, I would get rid of abomination and make reaper walker elite like in HV and dread knight and dragon as champs
-Inferno, yes Abyssal Worm out but ashan is ready it is boss creature in HVI and exist in Ashan

I agree on Necro, abomination is a little warcrafty. If this means both Reaper and Dread knight possible, then all good.
About Sylvan, even though you have 3 melees in elite, you have a slow moving, big PV entangling unit (Treant), a fast moving, high damage (I expect), fragile unit (emerald knights) and a support (buff or debuff), fast but medium damage and better HP unit (Unicorn).
As I understand 4/4/2 that you chose 3/3/1, such an elite lineup for Sylvan allows to strategize and make hard choices which is all the point.

Me too and also Ubi/Erwan complains that fans don't want changes in the game, we want changes but smart changes, like 4/4/2 and fans would like that change, something that adda to the replayability
also when I'm gonna update picture and descriptions for Inferno I'm gonna remove demonologist and add something else (not sure what), for some reason I'm not sure I like this demonologist idea now, and add Yuki-Onna instead of siren (no, I wasn't persuaded just change of heart ) as shooter/ice spells caster, also I would change something in Sylvan elite or champ, not sure what yet
EDIT:Also it turned out, I thinks so, that Stronghold has one of the best line-ups, it's really diverse, even though it was the last one I have made

Exactly, fans are not against change, but really don't like regression, which is what happens too often. Fans would like an expanding game (better skillwheel, more factions mechanism for example 4/4/2, etc...).
About your Sylvan change, why not change the Forrest Guardian?

Ok, Let's just say I remove Forest Guardian and make Green Dragon a walker like in HVII, so the third champion should be a flyer or shooter, any ideas ?

Maybe a Peryton would fit a more magical/fragile/caster Champion role? Or maybe a Kitsune? Also, kind of not champion level but I think that Enfields are really cute :3 https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/1b/e4/6e/1be46eaaff72e6577fe0dcc0dbe74d94.jpg

hmm It would be good as core or elite but not for champion and also why do you say it's a flyer ?
Leshy could be cool magic unit but there is already druid

not sure about peryton because there's already a deer in elite, kitsune and enfield are indeed cute but don't suite champion
so I was thinking maybe bring back pegasus riders from HIII ? or keep the guardian but with different picture, but it is too similar to HVII green dragon heavy walker
Also I'm thinking about replacing Archmage in Academy but I also don't know what would be good third champion, I one thought about Garuda but there is already a bird creature

I see you put the Pegasus Rider as the third Sylvan champion. Actually, I like the idea, but I would suggest to make it a shooter (currently has a sword). Why not having the unit throw javelins for example? This would alleviate the fact that there are 3 melee walkers in the Elite tiers.

Not so sure about this idea, because flying shooter creature feels weird to me, more precisely if it's a humanoid creature riding a flying creature, if he is able to shoot why is he riding on the pegasus, if he would stand in the same place, in this situation maybe make Emerald warrior a shooter and druid would be strictly spell caster/supporter, how about that ?

Not so weird if you think that it is closely to the centaur idea. The essential benefit is the mobility. A flying unit can be mobile and overcome obstacles while the human unit is able to use arrows. There is no such Champion unit to be honest in the game. Of course, it could have Magic Arrows that could trigger specific effects, making it even more powerful. Or even have the ability to move and then shoot, or shoot and then move.
Also the Leshy looks very familiar and similar to the Treant imo and i would prefer to see it in another faction with another role (as Minastir said, probably caster or support or saboteur instead of tank)

Maybe making him shooter is not a bad idea afterall, it would may be usefull during siege battles, but shoot and run fly, like centaur for champion could be too powerfull imo
also I would like to update Inferno but I'm not sure about this demonologist, it could be too similar to magic hero and I would like to replace it with something else, what would be better Horned Demon from HV ? Demented from HVI ? or maybe keep the idea of magic unit, shadow fiend, Fallen shaman
