Since you were talking about artifacts and where to put them... All marketplace related structures have their values depending on the number of marketplaces you own, except for Grotto. In my opinion, this should be corrected and Grotto's cost should revert to the original 1000 gold.

I guess its hardcoded since 2^6 is 64, you would need to rewrite lots of systems just to get the amount of artifacts some higher.

Hero data contains 8 bytes per artifact. If you increase the number of artifacts a Hero can carry, each Hero data string will have to be increased by 8 bytes per extra artifact. This means that you have to touch everything that reads or writes this data string and update it for these extra bytes.

I guess that's a lot of work.

- make Ctrl + click instantly recruit Portal of Summoning units (Dungeon)

Suggestion: Associated creatures

Associate some (neutral) units with towns, which means they are treated like other units of that town in all aspects (no morale and terrain penalty, also change portrait background), but are not recruitable in the town, only on adventure map.
Every town should have at least one associated unit, e.g. Peasant -> Castle, Satyr -> Rampart, Gold & Diamond Golem -> Tower, Mummy -> Necropolis, Boar -> Stronghold (remember Tarnum's campaign ), Troll -> Stronghold, perhaps Rogue -> Cove, Leprechaun -> Conflux. Create additional neutral units until every town has an associated unit, e.g.
Succubus or Nightmare -> Inferno
(Lizard) Shaman or Frog or Kappa -> Fortress
? -> Dungeon (should be rather weak unit because of Portal of Summoning)

and maybe shaman associated with the factory?

I like both of these, I think they would be nice HD additions if anything.

Some time ago I think Docent said it was planned - cosmetic adjustments like updating with new decorational map objects etc.

I remember a classic campaigns with a enemy faction called pirates, this one for instance would be a candidate for a Cove conversion.

Anyway, it's a lot of (probably low-priority) work.

The Armageddon's Blade campaign Foolhardy Waywardness has half the campaign be either fighting for the Regnan Pirates (under duress) or fighting the Regnan Pirates. They're mostly represented as Stronghold, except for a single Castle.

HotA edited campaign Foolhardy Wayverness was adjusted to fit Cove. Atleast 3 and 4 maps are all Strongholds replaced with Cove's. I guess author didnt touched 1st and 2nd maps since cutscenes used goblins.

That and the 1st and 2nd maps refers to the people you fight for/against as natives, while 3 and 4 take place on a different island set and specifically refers to not just pirates, but Regnan pirates. But where is this HotA-edited campaign, or information on it?

Hello I'm a 3d artist and have been paid hundreds of dollars for my work. I'm a fan of heroes 3 from childhood and recently picked up the game and installed the hota mod for online multiplayer.

Are there any plans for more factions, because if there is I wouldn't mind helping out with it. You added pirates maybe something you could add which the other factions don't really cover is a norse faction. A viking faction with viking architecture. There's plenty of interesting beasts and heroes you could create for that.

A lot of work but if there's a will there's a way and I'll help you out with 3d modeling. I can do both architecture, 3d characters and animation.

Skill ballance suggestions

Hello, fellow HOTA friends,
on behalf of the czech heroes 3 league, I would like to make a few suggestions to secondary skill balance.

Eagle Eye - this skill could open the possibility to see what spells, or at least what magic schools the opponent has in the battle. For example advanced eagle eye - in the battle I can see that my opponent has expert earth magic and advanced fire magic. Expert eagle eye - I can open the opponents spell book and see exactly what he has.

Mysticism - this skill could also make the spells of the opponent more expensive. Advanced mysticism would have the same effect as having pegasus in the army - all the spells of the opponent cost + 2 mana. Expert mysticism - all the spells of the opponent cost + 3 mana. The idea is - there are skills which makes attack stronger (Offense), enemy attack weaker (armorer), cast stronger (Sorcery), enemy cast weaker (resistance), having more mana (inteligence), but no skill that makes the enemy have less mana - or to put it in another words there is no skill that makes enemy spells cost more. This could be mysticism.

First Aid - First Aid tent would have more hitpoints and also heal more units per round. First Aid ability is really weak - heal up to 100 hp? Sometimes its not even 100 hp, its just the possibility to heal up to 100 hp. Thats really weak. Also you can quite easily "disable" the First aid ability of the opponent by simply killing a 75 hp first aid tent. That should be fixed.
