WoG and Beyond: Forum Links

Most of graphic threads are outdated and authors gone, a new self WoG installer is out, containing all necessary tools for mapmakers and WoG scripters. On the top of problems, most of those threads are several years old, being impossible to edit properly.

Sorry for that, Rapidshare became a nightmare for uploading and keep files. Try again, I removed the "encrypted" extension (which should not happen anyway).

i have a question,is any of these improvements worth installing?i also have an artifact boots(script 02)that i see it was removed from this page.and are any of these included in this 3.58f era build?the donwload link for "four upgrades mod"seems to be dead.is that mod in english or polish after all?and does it has an upgrade?beacause the last version is quite old.also i think that the new animated trees and lakes should be included in this new wog+era installer(that if they aren t allready )

New graphics must remain a mapmaker choice. Including the 110 animated trees for example will unnecessary change the way the editor works, more scrolling, more searching. Same for Darkloke's animated lakes. They animate like an ocean layout (slower with massive waves), and may be less desired by some mapmakers. They replace, don't add, so it is no way back.

If this is the correct place to post this... I do have a question about the 1.09 New Objects patch: as far as I can see on all object categories from the map editor some really cool objects are not there (might be somewhere else?). the best descriptions I can give about some of them are:

- A blood-like lake (picture code reads AVXMRp2.def)
- A red flying fire-bird (picture code reads Val166.def)
- volcanic steam (picture code reads Val165.def)

Is there another file containing these? I have installed WoG 3.58f and Era 1.8 from the main page.

Thanx - pdesbois

I have a problem with the new objects patch. I follow the steps precisely, even tried reinstalling WoG to be sure I have clean version. Still, after I'm done, the objects are in my H3sprite.lod, but they don't show in the map editor.

I put the .wog in the Update folder and run h3wupd.exe, then extract the map edit rar to the heroes folder, execute the patch - it tells me "H3WMAPED.EXE - File successfully patched! [375 bytes written]" - and that's all. No new objects, no nowt. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, though I can't understand what. I'm not on W7.

Any hints?

You have to run first the editor patch, then the 1.9 update. But now try to place the ZEOBJTS.txt from 1.9 package in your data folder, I think it will be enough. This file enables the new objects in the editor.

Thank you, your tip worked. I was confused as the steps in the install guide suggested the opposite order.

Do I have to do the same manually to put the various tree patches in the editor as well?

Unfortunately there is no simple way to have all patches at once. To have the trees patch over 1.09, you will have to add all the trees defs names to 1.09 ZEOBJTS.txt using the right tool.

Yes, I figured that - no problem, it can't all be that easy. I needed the objects to have various new dwellings available, so the trees are not top priority at the moment. But if I return to them at some point, your advice will come handy again, thank you!

Back to trying to add new creatures now, let's see if I can mess that up too
