I quoted Locke because he used "the laws of nature" phrase long before the Declaration.   As I said, such expressions are not an indication of deism.  Especially when on looks at the other references to God in the DOI.

You may not call Locke a theologian but he refered to himself as a theologian many times.  He wrote commentaries on the books of the Bible and quoted other theologians extensively.  Locke wrote "The Reasonableness of Christianity as Delivered in the Scriptures" as a rebuttal to deists.

Christian theology and Christian philosophy are not mutually exclusive.  Locke  said if he reached a conclusion that contradicted Scripture he would know his conclusion was wrong, not Scripture wrong.

As for which very few founding fathers were deists, it really does not matter.  What matters is what the DOI says.  The DOI language about God simply can't be squeezed into a deist world view.  And it would really be quite unreasonable to think that the colonies, where 99+% identified as Christians would accept a DOI which presented a God different from the Christian understanding of God. The DOI language was understandably not denominational but it was language acceptable to all Christians.

Why do you call Trump a child molester?  Bill Clinton flew many times on Pedophile 1 with a known  pedophile who had teenage prostitutes on board.  Certainly there is no way Hillary did not know this.

But I have heard no one but you call Trump a pedophile.

Some people act as though the Bible never speaks of nature or God creating All things.  Crack open a Bible and turn to the first page.    God created an ordered creation with natural material and spiritual laws. God being the Creator and ruler of all things is a constant refrain in the Bible.

"Nature's God" is not a trademarked phrase that only deists could use.  And I already showed how the other references to God in the Declaration of Independence are inconsistent with deism.  God in the Declaration of Independence is endower of natural rights and the Judge of the world.  He also protects by His "Providence."  He can be appealed to and relied on.  His law is that all be treated equally, have a right of live, have a right to live freely, and have a right to peruse happiness in their lives.  Those are some of the laws of nature and nature's God that the Declaration is refering to.  The moral laws, not thermodynamics.

Moreover, some seem to think that deism came up with the idea that God is revealed through his creation.  This idea is expressed numerous times in both the Old & New Testament.  But the Bible says natural revelation of God is not the only revelation.  From time to time God directly reveals himself (special revelation.) Natural revelation can tell us much of God and his requirements but the material can only reveal so much.


John Locke was a Christian theologian, not a deist.  He wrote of laws of nature being the will of God.

Hillary is entitled to a LEGAL presumption of innocence.  She is not entitled to MY presumption of innocence.  Many of her crimes have already been exposed.

Aside from what Celfious has mentioned on her first day in office she received a two hour security briefing by the FBI. She was trained in how to recognize & handle classified information. She signed a form vowing to store classified material in authorized locations upon penalty if perjury.  Her home server was not an authorized location. She had over 2100 classified documents on her home server.  Each violation is a separate crime.  Some of those documents were so called "above top secret" that only a few people are authorized to have access to.  This is one of the rare times where intent does not matter.

Clinton also lied several times when testifying to Congress including saying she had turned over all work related emails.  Judicial Watch in it's deposition of Clinton aides found a number of work related emails Clinton did not turn over.  I would bet the FBI has been able to recover many or all deleted emails from the server itself though Clinton paid an aide to scrub the server.

Clinton deleted not only thousands of emails but many of her daily schedules, which is tied into selling influence.  Clinton's top aide, Abedin, already admitted to the schedule deletions in her deposition to Judicial Watch and public records reflect this.

Then there is the other matter of public corruption involving Clinton selling influence and being compensated through donations to the Clinton Foundation which looks to be a sham charity used as a private slush fund for the Clintons.

Remember, at least one of Clinton's aides has been granted immunity by the FBI.  We do not know about Abedi n or other aides or what Clinton herself said to the FBI. When the FBI asked Hillary questions in her 3.5 hour interrogation you can bet they already knew the correct answers.  If she was foolish enough to lie each lie was a c ... post shortened to 2000 characters.

Oh my, some guy somewhere wrote the Declaration of Independence portrays a deist view of God so that must be true, huh?  Not.  In fact it is astonishing that anyone who has carefully and thoughtfully read it claims the DOI descriptions of God are deist.  Shall we engage our brains and examine the phrases for ourselves?


A. "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”;

Ok, deists say God created everything and then turned a blind eye to his creation because he does not give a rat's butt about what he created.  That means a deist God would not care how I treated anyone.  Yet the Declaration of Independence says we all have the same rights and our rights come from God.  The rights include but are not limited to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  So God wants me to let you live, to let you live freely, and to let you pursue happiness in your life.  Sorry, this passage does not describe an aloof, uncaring God.  Not. One. Bit.


B “the laws of nature and of nature’s God”;

Now, I will grant you that this phrase could theoretically refer to a God that set everything in motion and then ignored his Creation.  But the problem is this little phrase can only mean that if it is isolated from the rest of the Declaration.  God described in the Bible created an ordered universe with natural laws.  He sometimes intervenes in history.  The phrase "“the laws of nature and of nature’s God” fits that description of God too.  


C “appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world”;  

Uh oh.  This ain't looking so good for deism.  "Appealing" as in praying to the Supreme Judge of the world.  Looks like the DOI says God can be prayed to so they did not believe in an aloof uncaring unfindable God.  They also believed God is Judge of the world.  Nope.  No deism here. Not. One. Bit.

Dude, Israel is a nation, not a palace.  The wall it built has been effective.  I am quite sure walls can be effective for other nations as well.  In fact the US has border walls in certain places and the well built ones are effective.

However, a palace wall is just a smaller version of a border wall.  A wall is a physical barrier that can be effective in securing The border of an estate or of a nation.


Unwanted immigration is not the only reason to build a wall.  Making it harder for terrorists to come in is another reason. Certainly Islamic terror is only increasing and jihadis have been captured coming across the border.  Cartels are bringing them in.

Your observations about morality are certainly valid.  This election proves that.  I mean a woman who has committed multiple felonies as the democrat nominee and most democrats still support her.  What other proof is needed?

Some people feel offended that Christianity was very important in the founding of the US.  Oh well.  

As society strays more from the Christian ethics it becomes more corrupt and we get more corrupt leaders.  Society devolving.  Murders and rapes in schools.  Streets of major cities like Chicago running with blood.  Evil must now be called good and good evil.  Chaos.

Politics in a democracy can't really be separated from morality.  Immoral leaders are not going to protect the rights of the People.  The founding fathers all supported religious liberty as a God-given right.  They wanted religious people to impact politics but wanted no government control of religion.

Tomorrow President Obama will be campaigning with Hillary, a woman who is under FBI investigation and who could be charged with multiple felonies.  So the head of the executive branch is standing with a woman being investigated by the executive branch.  Can you say "conflict of interests?"

Some criticize Trump's border wall policy.  Yet we see Israel's wall has been a success.  We see the White House is planning to increase the height of the White House wall. If walls do not help why are they making WH wall higher? We see elites with walls around their estates.  Why?


Hillary plans to bring in 5 times more Muslim refugees that Obama's plan.  We see mass rapes by "refugees" across Europe.  How is bringing in more Sharia-Law believers (Most Muslims from that area want Sharia) a good idea?  There have been a number of sexual assaults in the US by"refugees" but the mainstream media & US government tries to keep these quiet.

A government's primary job is the protection of it's citizens.


As for declining populations in Europe perhaps encourage women not to kill so many humans in the womb.  Mass immigration by cultures that are at odds with Western culture is a bad idea.  Such people will not assimilate and will only cause more trouble than their labor is worth.
